"Chapter 41- hiding my flaws from you"

Tristan complimented my looks like a painting like he said, "I was too beautiful to be real" it sounds so exaggerated that I couldn't help but laugh at his compliments secretly.

He held the back of my palm with his warm hands, he kissed my palm in front of me giving me all of his affection. I would hit my head as hard as I could to forget all the traumatic events that happened in my life to have a new beginning with Tristan, I couldn't afford him to see my flaws, I will hide it from him so I can't add his burdens.

"Klein," Tristan whispered my name before he gulped, I looked at his rusted golden eyes that were staring at me for a long period of time. "Is there something bothering you?" Tristan slowly let go of my hands as he looked at me worried, I scoffed as I noticed he looked like an abandoned puppy. "I'm fine, let's rest," I said while embracing him as my head kept aching, I buried my forehead and my face on his chest; maybe my head would stop aching.

"That was supposed to be my line you know," he rubbed my back with his warm hands for me to fall asleep, "your line? you're the one who looks restless and tense to me earlier," I said in a muffled voice as my face was still buried on his chest because of my aching head. He rested his chin lightly on my head, "let's rest together," Tristan said with a tone of asking a favor.

Tristan walked away from Klein's chamber and saw Klein's grandmother standing from a distance, he noticed her gaze and lowered his head, she walked towards him with her cane making a noise on the floor. "may I have a word," she asked with a strict tone, Tristan nodded silently as he turned his body to her. "I will refrain you from meeting my grandson every day," she said straightforwardly at him, Tristan's eyes widened but somehow understands her worry.

"you probably understand why I'm doing this," she whispered furiously at him, "your mother... your mother is a cruel one, Klein got hurt because of her," she said with a frown and stopping the urge to shout at him in front of Klein's chamber. "Klein got hurt, because of you," she stabbed her words at Tristan without any hesitation, as she walked past a pale Tristan she paused and glanced at him.

"It's better for you to leave him and marry the person she wants you to be with," she said, "Klein is getting hurt because of your actions. remember that,"

"If you really love him, you're willing to let him go," she added before leaving him livid in front of Klein's room

she's right; I'm hurting Klein because of my reckless actions, how can I move so carelessly, Klein won't be hurt in the first place if I just accepted her marriage plan. If I keep being a rebel, what will happen next? I don't want to hurt Klein nor leave him. Maybe accepting my fate will be the answer for Klein to have a peaceful life, yes, I think that's the only answer I could think of. I'm not planning to let go of Klein, I will wait for years until I could divorce; will he wait for me though? with a fragile heart like his and a tough mindset, he might move on before I could even divorce the woman or he won't at all.

I walked away from his room with my aching head passed by Belinda who was walking towards Klein's room, she noticed me walking as fast as I could with tears unintentionally streaming down from my eyes. I pulled my phone out of my pocket as soon as I almost reached the exit to their mansion,

'RING!'

Evans picked up his phone somewhere in the airport in Canada, "Tristan?" he called his name as he heard him breathing unstable, he walked away from Laurice who was standing behind him. Tristan huffed for air as he try to bear the most unbearable words he got, "what happened?" Evans asked as his pupil glanced at Laurice looking at her phone,

"..."

Evans sighed, "Tell me your location instead, I'll drive Laurice to a nearby hotel,"

"Meet me at the bar at the xxx street,"

Tristan hung up on him before he could speak another word, Evans clicked his tongue. "Damn," he cursed as he tried to stop the urge to smoke from getting irritated, "who's that?" Laurice asked who popped out of nowhere behind Evans, his heart almost dropped as soon as he heard Laurice. "Are you okay?" she asked Evans who has his hand on his chest while bending down, Evans smiled while taking a breath, "yeah I am, I am," Evans said and soon stood up from bending down, Laurice looked at him with a small smile and held his hand. "Let's go?' Laurice smiled broadly as she excitedly wants to meet Klein immediately, she dragged him to the exit with excitement while humming.

'she seems so happy to visit Klein,' Evans thought while he was getting dragged.

"Let's buy some food on the way, you must be starving after a long trip,"
