Jizelle knocked the door, there was no answer. She looked around the lobby and knocked again. She heard footsteps, the old lady opened the door and her eyes widened. Without a word the old woman hugged her.
"Jizelle," she said over her shoulder.
"Aunt Murcy," Jizelle whispered.
"You look so grown-up. How is Alya?" Murcy said.
"Speaking of her, she hasn't been normal since our parents passed."
The woman held her mouth to suppress her scream.
"It happened long ago." Jizelle said as her face turned sullen.
"I'm so sorry, I'm so so—" she stopped "come in."
Jizelle walked into the apartment.
"How's your wolf, did it react to the loss," Murcy asked walking to the kitchen, "How are you girls managing? First of all, where do you live?"
Jizelle sat down on an old wooden chair facing the kitchen.
"We were adopted by the Porchaskas and well they treat us well.We live on
24 N Street, near the Town Hall, we—" Jizelle cleared her throat, "I came here so you can quiet her wolf down again, my wolf is calm but hers isn't."
"It can't be her wolf, we calmed it down when she was four, right? You were here." Murcy said, emptying mango juice in a cup.
"It's either it's her wolf or she's psychologically traumatized but I'm sure it's the wolf Aunt Murcy. I know Alya and I know how the arrogant thing works."
The woman sat opposite the lycan years ago, the Fortlyns had brought Alya so she can calm her wolf. She was only four by then but the lycan that was reincarnated in her proved rather stubborn and dangerous. She had just been expelled and charged for attempted murder, of course no one believed a four year old beat up a twenty seven year old man. The syringe was supposed to kill the wolf and make Alya an ordinary human being but her stubborn wolf just wouldn't give up.
"How sure are you that it's Tekai, if it was Tekai things would have been worse." Aunt Murcy said.
"I put the tranquilizers in her juice every morning yet it doesn't affect her one bit. She also has super high alert and she tried to stab me with a scissors last night. And every full moon I overdose her with sleeping pills but she stays awake anyway. I'm just lucky that Tekai lets her be during that time."
"Can you bring her here?" Murcy asked.
"No she wouldn't agree," Jizelle got up from the chair. "That reminds me, I have to go pick her up and take her to a therapist, just in case."
"Are you sure," Murcy asked, " Won't that be dangerous?"
Jizelle adjusted her skirt, "I gave her the pills this morning and I have no other choice."
Murcy got up to hug Jizelle again, "Drop by after taking her there, I'll figure something out. Okay?"
Jizelle nodded and started to rush towards the door.
"Jizelle," Murcy called. Jizelle stopped to look back at her.
"I'll always be here for you girls, remember that dear." Jizelle smiled and said a very low thank you.
Alya stood in the middle of the girls who listened to the lady who stuck her nose up in the air as she spoke.
"When you're here we expect you to be the best, everything in this field is a competition. I'm not going to pamper you, we are going to do real butt trainings."
Alya raised her eyebrows when she heard the last word. Her hearing trailed off and she looked out the window, just in time the creepy hypnotist was speeding out of the schools yard. He was saying something as he walked and he was being followed by atleast ten boys. They all diligently listened to him.
Ok, he's a WYB so what? He had three bodyguards with him earlier, now it's ten. What's the deal with the kid. Alya thought to herself.
"If you're interested you can write your name in this book," the woman said holding up a black notebook, "If not kindly leave this room."
So Alya walked out. She walked to the school's yard and stopped on the lawn. The yard was empty and eerily quiet, she had slowed her steps and walked around the fountain, she stared at the clear water. If there was anything she felt it's the feeling she's on to something but what the hell was her senses leading her to this time, she didn't know. She kept walking, three closed doors stood in front of her. She walked to the first door and held the knob, it felt extremely cold, meaning it hadn't been used in a long time. She opened it but didn't enter.
"Go in" she heard a faint voice said.
Alya turned the door knob open and before she could step her feet into the mist of darkness the hovered the room, Jennette's voice stopped her.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you." Without turning her head Alya asked, "Are you stalking me?" Jennette walked to her, "Honestly I don't give a damn what you do but two years ago fourteen students lost their lives in that same room. Nobody knows who murdered them till now."
Alya still held the doorknob tight, "Was that supposed to scan me?"
"You want to add up to the list go in." Alya shrugged and opened the door wider, she would have walked in but Jennette grabbed her hand, " You don't listen, do you?" Alya took a step closer to Jennette so she could meet her eye to eye, "You're not my nanny, I don't want you watching over me and what I do is none of your business. So stay out of it or else you will be the one adding up to the death list." Alya pulled her hand from Jennette grasp, Jennette staggered and almost fell. Before she could react, someone walked out of the door. It was one of the guys that were always behind Xavier like bodyguards. He looked at the two girls and kept walking and so did the other guys that came outside, lastly the leader of the gang himself walked out. He, unlike the others, smiled at them.
Alya frowned, what was he smiling at, something was definitely fishy and why were they in that room Alya asked herself. After they walked a few paces ahead Jennette spoke.
"I bet he's the one behind all the fourteen murders." Alya turned to listen.
"There's barely an proof, but everyone knows that he never liked any of the kids who were killed. And he's the leader of that gang and he has the money to pay people to do the job and cover it up. it's too obvious."
Alya didn't comment, she just proceeded to look at him. He had a majestic aura, such that describes that he wasn't a type to be messed with and she hated him for every step he took.
.....
Conor whispered to Xavier as they walked, "Don't tell me you aren't hearing that girl." Xavier answered shortly, "I am." Some advantages of being a vampire was super sensitive ears which humans don't know when they gossip about him. "But that should be the least of your worries, what you should be worried about is finding the person who tried to frame me."
"No worries, I won't let you down." Conor said.
"You better not," Xavier replied.
"But if that girl was the one who saw the crescent, she probably suspects you." Flash said and Michael murmured something that sounded like an agreement.
"Again, let me worry about those minor things, you should be focused on who made the duplicate crescent." Xavier turned around because he could feel someone was watching him and it was her again. Their eyes met and she folded her arms but kept staring at him, it only lasted for about three seconds because he turned his head. If only she stared harder her eyebrows would have formed a thin line.
"And besides how much harm can that little thing cause us. If she gets too curious, I'll just kill her off." He said looking at Michael meaning it was his job to find out if she started to get curious.
....
"Disgusting," Alya said loud enough hoping he would hear it. How shameless was he staring at her like she was a piece of —
"Some would say it's charming," Jennette said, "But devilish is the right word for that womanizer." Alya raised an eyebrow, "So we do have something in common, our hate for that guy."
"That was really fast." Jennette commented and started walking.
"What?"
"Your hate, it grew a little too fast. Are you sure you're not just using it to shade your real feelings?" Alya scoffed, "And here I was thinking we may have gotten along in about the next ten years."
"I was just pulling your leg," Jennette laughed, "It was a joke." Alya face was still dead serious, "Forgive me if I'm not laughing," she said finally. Jennette flinged her hair, "You really need to work on your sense of humor."
"Atleast that's the only thing I have to work on."
Jizelle seemed to be smiling as she drove. "So you getting along with the students.
Alya glared at her sister, "She's not my friend."
"Why is that? You girls could have made an awesome duo," Jizelle said.
"Too bad you don't have a say in it"
"Therapy will fix all that."
"Over my dead body you'll send me to therapy."
"Dead body huh, that could be arranged," Jizelle said when she bent into her garage.
Alya walked out of the car and went into the house.
"Go change, we got at least ten minutes to get going."
"I hate you," Alya screamed and slammed her room door. She dropped on her bed and pulled her covers over her.
"Alya!" Jizelle said opening the door.
"Shit I forgot to lock it," Alya mumbled under her covers.
"Please stop making this harder than it is."
"Leave my room."
Jizelle pulled the covers off her sister, "Get up! This isn't democracy, what I say goes and you don't have a say in it!"
Alya defensively retrieved her covers and covered her face, "Can you stop yelling at me? I feel woozy already." Jizelle suddenly reduced her tone, "You're sick?"
Obviously that's not what Alya meant but she decided to take advantage of the situation, "Yeah." She said blaming her voice for sounding so well.
"Are you lying to stop me from taking you?"
"Yeah," Alya answered again, sarcastically.
Jizelle walked around the room, "You may not be sick, which you definitely are not, but you still need rest."
"That's the plan as soon as you get out."
Jizelle was leaving the room when Alya's voice came out, "Jizelle?"
"Hmm," Jizelle answered.
"Close the door behind you," she said withdrawing her head back in the covers and only came out when she heard the door close. She got up and locked the door. She changed and sneaked out of her room, using her covers for a soft landing. Her plan didn't work that well as her back was hurting like hell. Jennette had showed her where The Den was and she was going to check it out, hopefully she'll find something against that Xavier and Jizelle will finally see a reason to get her out of that dump called a school.
