"As you wish." The smooth voice said and in a second, a loud thud was heard, he did put her down.
Alya made a mental note to never judge a book by its cover. Although he had striking looks of a well-mannered gentleman, he also had a dark aura and his actions displayed what he really was, brutish and..and a lot of things. After groaning for her beloved back, she raised her head to watch the train that almost killed her pass by. She gasped realizing how close she was to such a nasty death. But he did save her, the question was "Why?"
Did he want her alive, well he did bite her and as her researches show she was a vampire too at least she thought she was.
"Why did you save me," Alya asked raising her head to meet his face but to her disappoinment he wasn't there. Her face turned a little sad. Just a little... She wondered where he went, it's creepy how someone could dive in and disappear so suddenly, especially after such a heroic act.
She sighed and stood up, her hair was messy, her clothes had dirt, twigs and old leaves on it. She dusted her clothes, still looking around just to be sure he had really left.
She looked around, she was still lost. After walking in circles for over an hour, she had finally reached the main road. She stood there for another hour. Luckily for her she found a taxi that late. Even if the cabbie was staring at her as if she was a ghost. The closer she got to home the weaker she felt. She was just glad she didn't collapse at the window. Luckily Jizelle Porchaska was a sound sleeper...
There was loud banging on her bedroom door that morning. Alya fluttered her eyes as the days of the golden sun danced on her face. She tried to yell at the door, she couldn't even understand what she was saying.
"Alya!! Get up!" Jizelle yelled knocking on the door.
Alya got up from the floor, that was when she heard her phone alarm buzzing off on her bed. She dragged herself to the bed and checked the time. She was late, she had barely twenty minutes to get ready and she still had a black blood stained jacket on and sand in her hair.
"I'll be down in a minute!" Alya yelled getting up with the help of her bed.
"Open the door," Jizelle said.
Alya stood in front of the mirror and shook her head, she looked like a witch who hadn't showered in years.
"Alya," Jizelle called softly, "Hurry we're getting late."
Alya took of her hoodie and dropped them on the floor.
"I'll be down in five," Alya said rushing into the shower.
When Jizelle heard the water splashing in the bathroom she started knocking the door again. This time a little louder. "Open the door, Alya. Open the door, come on." Jizelle persuaded.
"No," Alya said emptying a bottle of bathing soap in her hair.
"Why?"
"Because..." Alya said, "I don't feel like it."
Alya felt relieved and clean after the bath and as usual she wore yet another black legendary "stay away" hoodie and her black jeans accompanied with black sneakers. She went downstairs with a slow walk as she recalled all that happened the night before.
Jizelle was in a black coat suit and had combed her hair behind her ears. She looked so much like their mother. She walked around the living room in her long black heels. She wore huge white earrings and applied light makeup. Alya froze on the stairs for a while.
"The Fortlyns were a beautiful family," she said without even knowing it.
Jizelle shot her head to her sister and gave a light smile that quickly turned into a frown.
"You're wearing black too? We look like we're going on a funeral," she said before beckoning Alya to hurry down. Alya went down to the dining room, she didn't feel all that hungry, just a little thirsty. She tilted her head looking side to side for the meal that was supposed to be waiting for her to consume.
"Jizelle," Alya called, "Where's my breakfast?"
"Breakfast? We're damn late and you're thinking about breakfast?" Jizelle headed for the door. "If you wantedbreakfast, you should have been awake at least an hour ago."
Alya rolled her eyes and threw her bag over her arm. She wasn't that hungry anyway.
"Wait, wait," Jizelle stopped at the door and pointed at the refrigerator.
"Go drink your juice," she said.
Alya dropped her bag and stared at her sister, "You deprived me of breakfast," she yelled.
"But.. I can't let you be dehydrated," Jizelle said caressing her face. "You really should stop with this ponytail thing. Go get the drink."
Alya shoved Jizelle hands off her face, arrogantly picked up her bag and yelled a rude "No" and went to the car. She crossed her legs and folded her arms as she waited in the car.
Surprisingly yet not surprisingly, Jizelle did bring the orange juice in the bottle. Jizelle took the morning routine of drinking a glass of citrous very seriously. Lord was the only being that knows why.
During the silent drive to the school Jizelle turned to Alya.
"How's your social life at school," she asked switching hands on the wheel.
"Social," Alya answered turning the bottle top open. She gulped it down.
"You will still go to that therapy though."
Alya sighed, "You still on that shit?"
"Don't say shit," Jizelle snapped.
Alya kept quiet.
"You're going today after school and it's final." She added and Alya chuckled.
"I'll drag you there," Jizelle said and joined in the laughter.
Alya kept a weird smile on her face, "You will never give up will you?"
"Honestly.. I gave up a long long time ago but again you need me."
"I don't," Alya said.
"Well you don't admit it but you do."
Alya decided to keep shit. The conversation had gotten boring. After thinking for a while, Alya spoke up. "I'll check out that therapy thing."
Jizelle eyes bulged out and she stared at Alya.
Alya stared back, "I also wanna know if I'm still sane. You have no idea what's been going on."
"How's your face so pale," Jizelle turned her attention back to the road.
Alya rubbed her cheeks. Pale? She had rubbed so much lotion yet it still looked pale. "Lord help me" she murmured just before Jizelle handed her a little bottle, probably lotion.
Alya read the label, "Haley's Hand Lotion for soft hands and strong nails." Her eyes trailed from the bottle to her sister. Jizelle looked like she was going to burst of laughter.
"Why on earth did you give me a hand lotion?"
Jizelle took a turn, "It's better than looking like a vampire all day."
Alya glanced at her sister "Did you say vampire?"
Jizelle pulled over near the school and turned to Alya, "What's on your neck?"
"My neck," Alya asked again.
"Yeah," Jizelle said reaching out to touch her neck but was violently stopped by Alya's hands.
"No it's nothing" Alya said.
Jizelle gray eyes stared into hers, "Why are you still holding my hand so tight? Let go."
Alya didn't realize how tight her grip was and she quickly let go. Jizelle checked her hand, obviously looking for bruises. Alya got out of the car before Jizelle started looking at her neck again.
"No thanks for the ride or Bye-bye bye big sis?" Jizelle asked poking her head out the car. Alya couldn't help but smile and shake her head as she walked to the school building.

Xavier was frowning and keeping silent while Michael, Connor, Flash, and Holden were chatting and laughing loudly behind him. According to Alya's schedule she was supposed to be in class now, maybe the effect of his toxic fangs were really slow and maybe her body's still out there near the train track out cold.
The teacher walked into the class with a heavy load of books.
"Is everyone in here," she said, the students ignored her and kept talking. The next time she repeated the question it was a little louder, this time a few listened. Xavier was still as the lady spoke, for she called the attendance and in the middle she severally called Alya's name.
"Alya Porchaska?" she called for the fifth time.
"She might be dead," Xavier said out loud and a few students laughed except for the teacher who shot him a warning glare. It was so funny, he was older than this woman, he could have been her grandfather if he wanted to.
As for the bitch, she finally stopped breathing.
"So let's head on to our lessons, shall we?" The teacher asked as she flipped through a bright red book...
Connor's voice burst out in laughter and Michael, and Flash voices joined him. Michael dipped his hands in a bowl full of fries, tipped it up with ketchup and threw it in his mouth.
As usual Xavier was silent. Listening keenly to what they were saying as he stared into the void. This impression made him seem far gone and uninterested but it actually meant he was paying attention. His face showed no emotions as he sipped his coffee. Recess was boring. He was grateful Summer wasn't in school or else she would have been clinging on him tighter than glue.
There were eight girls sitting opposite the table he was sitting. Seven of them were smiling at him, the last was Jennette. She was the only one who wasn't smiling. She was paying attention to her phone.
Again his mind went on Alya, again, it has been a little habit his mind has picked up since the night before. He hated it but couldn't stop it. It just happened everytime.
The boys had stopped talking, he wondered why. The six pairs of eyes were staring at him. He dropped the cup.
"Don't stare at me," Xavier said to them and they diverted their eyes away.
He raised the cup to his mouth again. And then his whole world suddenly turned upside down. He suddenly choked on his drink and was forced to spit it out on Connor's face. Connor's eyes bulged out in bewilderment. His white shirt was now stained brown.
"Okay?" Connor said searching on the table for a napkin to clean up.
"You got a little something on your shirt." Flash said pointing at his shirt. And that triggered another round of laughter around the table. Connor joined but also got up and headed for the bathroom, he bumped into Alya on his way. She frowned and looked behind him. Her eyes slowly turned in his direction.
He was wiping his lips when their eyes met. "I'll be damned." Xavier whispered. Alya's blue eyes kinda sparkled. Her intense gaze and frown were creepy. He wondered why she was angry, he should be the angry one since she refused to die after he expected her dead. He smiled instead. Just at that moment Jennette came over and hugged her, Alya didn't hug her back. Weird kid...!
Michael's eyes turned to Alya, "Isn't that girl supposed to be dead?" He asked openly and turned to Xavier.
Flash eyes flew to her too then back to Xavier.
"Don't ask," Xavier commented.
The boys glanced at each other throwing mischievous looks.
"So the great Xavier spared a girl's life," Flash said smiling.
"Out of pity perhaps," Michael replied with a British accent.
"I will stick this fork down your throats." Xavier said raising a fork at them. Connor returned and sat down.
"What went on without me," he asked buttoning his shirt collar to his neck.
"Well" Michael started "Xavier didn't kill the girl from last night."
"What? Why?" Connor blurted out and looking in the direction Flash was now pointing to. After a look he gasped "Damn. Why?"
Xavier hit the table with the fork arrogantly and it got stuck in it. The sound caused all heads in the cafeteria to turn to them including Alya. Xavier raised his eyes to the sky.
"The fact that you are still sitting here without scars on your body proves how merciful I am."
"Yup," Connor said, "But I have a question."
Xavier shut his eyes, "Five, four, three..."
"Oh no." Flash said leaving with the fries.
"Hey, where you taking the food?" Michael asked as he left the table.
"Two!" Xavier counted loudly this time.
"I'll just go sit with the girls," Connor said jumping up.
"One.." Xavier said lastly opening his eyes. His face had turned soft when he met Alya's piercing eyes sitting across the table.
"Oh," Xavier said.
"Hello," Alya said taking off the hood. "I just came to tell you that I will tell BBC, Boston Press News and CNN for what you did."
"Oh."
"You bit me," she said frowning.
"I did?" Xavier asked sounding surprised.
Alya showed him.her neck. "Who told you I wanted to be one of you? You're a crazy... you're insane."
Xavier nodded, "You have no idea you should have been dead by now."
"I'm adding attempted murder to the list and I'm not kidding."
"I know you're not. You look damn serious and determined to ruin my life but you don't look that stupid."
"Stupid?! You dared to call me—"
"Shh" Xavier hushed her and her mouth hung open.
"I don't expect you to go blabbing on air about a fictional character that supposedly bit you. No one will believe you. I know it's sad but they won't."
Alya chuckled lightly, "We'll see about that." She said wearing her hood back over her head and taking the half full bottle of water with her ss she got up.
"Blood is better nutrition than water," Xavier said lastly and licked his lips.
She ignored him, he hated it. She opened the bottle and gulped it down as she left. When she was about six steps away he murmured to himself.
"So it's true then, ghosts never die."
She stopped and turned to him glaring.
"You heard that?" he murmured.
She stomped way angrily.
"Wow she's developing fast. Too fast."..
Alya walked towards Jennette and a bunch of other girls she didn't know. The police won't believe her but Jennette would and as a president of the school's press and a mayor's daughter, who won't believe her story? She smiled to herself. If she could convince the entire school of rich and influential kids that vampires exist among them who would call her insane?
She tapped Jennette's shoulder and as she turned around her expression changed. She seemed shocked.
"Alya are you alright? You look seriously—"
"I have something to tell you," Alya said sitting down "and it's important."
Jennette readily brushed some strands of her hair back, dropped her phone and turned to her, obviously excited and the important thing Alya had to say.
"I'm all ears," she added.
"This is very important, I can't say it here."
Jennette took a quick glance at her friends, "Are you sure?"
"So are you gonna introduce us to your new friend?" A tall black girl asked tapping the table.
Jennette paused and sighed before she spoke, "Everyone this is Alya and Alya these are Nikki, Rome, Sasha, and Summer."
"Forget about the introductions, why is she sitting here?" The girl named Summer asked. Alya recognized Summer as the dramatic girl who loved the attention of the press.
"Why I'm sitting here?x Alya repeated.
"You heard me."
"Oh, come on Summer, don't do this now." The black girl stopped tapping the
table as she raised her milkshake to her lips.
"What's so special about here anyway. This freaking table is exactly like every table in this cafeteria." Alya yelled.
"The difference is that I'm sitting here. Do you know who I am?"
"Wow, I never heard about someone who forgets about their own identity. Is it a mental problem or were you just born that way?" Alya shot back.
"ENOUGH!!" Jennette yelled
"Hey don't yell at us," Sasha finally spoke only to receive a dirty glare from both Jennette and Alya.
"Alya, can we talk after school?"
"No it's important," Alya answered almost instantly.
"Whatever it is, I'm sure it can wait," Jennette answered. "Please," she added.
Alya frowned and got up, "You can have fun with you snobby, mannerless, and rude friends."
"Excuse you," Sasha, Summer and Rome said in unison.
Alya could hear them loud and clear after at least 10 feet away from the table.
"That dirty little brat," Rome scoffed
"Even ugly ducklings are better in looks" Sasha added.
"You guys can learn to be nice sometimes, it doesn't kill." Jennette said.
"Don't you dare sit and defend that child!" Rome said pointing at Jennette.
"What was so important anyway?" Summer asked.
"I don't know." Jennette replied plainly and picked her phone back up.
"But when you do know you will tell us right?" Summer inquired.
"Jennette?" Sasha pressed.
"Yeah, sure.. sure whatever."
Alya frowned. Jennette better not mean what she said.

Alya was off to Biology class after recess. She had her books in her left hand and a black folder right. There was a boring report due the next week and she hadn't even thought of starting yet.
"Biology?" Someone asked behind her, must have been female.
Alya mumbled something before she nodded.
"Let me escort you," The voice said getting closer. Alya flinched before turning around, she could now identify the voice. She walked backwards as Noelle appproached.
"Hey it's me."
"I know it's you," Alya said stopping Noelle in her tracks. "And believe me I know a little too much."
"Oh..kay? Is that a good thing or a bad thing?"
Alya kept walking ignoring her. She only stopped when she heard footsteps following her.
"Stop following me!!!" Alya yelled as if she was trying to damage her lungs.
Noelle froze, she was obviously shocked by the scene Alya was making. Some students stopped to watch but continued to mind their businesses when they saw Noelle was involved. And of course it was because of the rumors of her being a part of The Den.
"What is wrong? I thought we were getting along well."
"Oh really?! Or you just used one of you creepy vampires spell to make us get along."
Noelle gasped, "What are you talking about," she glanced sideways.
"You are such a con artist, a crazy little hypocrite." Alya said. "You disgust me."
"Keep your voice down, people may think you are paranoid."
"That ship has sailed and you should be more worried that I know you are a freak of nature." Alya continued.
"Let me rephrase bitch, vampire!"
At this moment the whole school couldn't resist the gossip, there was a crowd of about fifty students forming. And at the mention of the last word, doubtful whispers echoed around. At this point all Noelle could do is purse her lips and shut her eyes.
