Chapter 5

Apollo

He unlocked the door to his and his wife's apartment, opening it slowly. There was a warm light coming from the kitchen, and the tea kettle was making a high-pitched noise. "Yes yes, I know." A voice mumbles from the kitchen. Apollo sat his coat down on the couch, before walking into the kitchen. "Hey hun," He said with a soft smile.

Hitori, or Tori, turned around and hugged Apollo closely. "Hi, baby! Your back." He smiled softly, hugging back. His lips still tingled from the kiss. "Yes I am, what are you doing?" Tori let go of the hug, walking back over to the kettle. She lifted it delicately, placing it on the nonheated part of the stove. "Just wanted to make some hot cocoa. You want some?" Apollo shook his head.

"No thanks, dear." She frowned but nodded. She reached for a glass cup, placing it on the counter. "So I was thinking, how about me and you go on this super cute tour of Lake Toya. I heard it was beautiful." Apollo frowned.

Tori was always like this. She was from the states and wanted to live in Japan because of its beautiful scenery and architecture. However, something that Apollo never liked, was being dragged around on her adventures. It's fun seeing her reaction to things that 'Japanese people do', but showing her basic things can be boring for him once he's used to it.

For example, for their first date, Tori wanted to go to Kumamoto Castle. Which Apollo had been to multiple times. It was nice seeing her reaction, and it was always nice to see structures and natural scenery, but Apollo grew up. Now, he had work.

"I'm sorry babe, I don't think I'll be able to go." He said, which became something he had to say whenever. Sometimes it was an excuse to not be dragged around with her like a tourist, but sometimes, like now, he had work.

She sadly nodded. "Ok, I understand. Are you tired?" She asks, and Apollo nodded softly. She walked up to him, kissed him on the lips, and smiled. The weird thing about the kiss was that it didn't feel the same way it did with Faline. It didn't feel special.

"Go to bed." She says, before going back to making her hot chocolate.

Faline

Faline and Tigris got off their motorcycles, kicking up the foot stand so they wouldn't fall. Tigris watched Faline. "Your dad is pissed." Faline shrugged. Tigris followed Faline to the door, the pink fingernailed boy typed in his name, in number form, letting the pad unlock the door. He stepped inside, waving some people.

Tora walked up to him, hitting him in the head before hugging the boy. "That was a fucking idiot thing to do. I'm glad you're ok." Faline didn't hug her back. "Wow, mixed signals from Tora. But yeah, it went well. Ass still hurts but that's expected right?" Tigris rolled his eyes. Tora let go of him, raising her hands in the air. "I'm gonna wash my hands." She mumbled before walking off.

Tigris walked in front of Faline, showing him to his father's office. Tigris gave him a knowing look, before walking off. Faline took a deep breath, before walking in.

The office was nice. One shelf stacked with legal books and biographies. The other side was tiled wood, with a warm shine and coating. The floor was dark brown carpet, with a wooden desk that rose from the ground to Farline's hip. His father didn't say anything to him, didn't even look. Faline took that as 'sit down.'

Faline quietly watched him for a second. "What did you say to them?" He asked, his dark voice serious. His father was very different than him. How he ran the gang was very different than how Faline did. Faline was serious, don't get him wrong, but he also believed in friendship and dignity. His father only believed in himself.

"Nothing, of course. He didn't ask that many things that even had to do with the gang." Well, besides one. But Faline would never tell that to his father. Or most people here. He huffed, lowering the book seemingly from one of the hundred on the shelf, and placed it on the desk.

"You do understand how stubid, how idiotic what you just was?" He asked, hidden venom that only Faline could hear, struck his voice. He took a deep breath. "I don't think it was. I got out just fine. If I didn't know what the outcome was, I would have shot all four of those police officers myself. I knew I was going to get out, so did most people who trust me."

His father went silent once again "Your the leader now. Have been for almost two years, you can't just act on your emotions, stop acting like you are not at gunpoint twenty-four-seven, that's only going to make an empire collapse." He said harshly as if he hasn't said this before. "I'm not acting on my emotions-" "You make jokes when people have a gun pointed to your head."

"As I said, I know what I'm doing."

He takes in a deep breath, Faline could tell he was getting angry at him. "Faline, you flirting with every police officer isn't knowing what you're doing, that's just called being horny." Faline huffs. "It's not like I actually do anything with them, and besides it's called misdirection. I'm using what I have to help."

"Son, it's called being a whore."

Faline licked his teeth angrily. His father has called him words that would sometimes aggravate him, but it was never this bad, never this serious. "You must have gotten that from your mother." Faline stared at him, his breath becoming ragged. His eyes went down to the pistol on his father's table, and he knew his father knew what he was looking at.

He sucked in a deep breath, before stepping out of the room and down the steps. Leo was quick to follow. "Hey, where are you going?" Faline didn't turn around as he opened the front door. "I'm going to go see him." He mumbled. Leo's eyes widened, he stepped in front of Faline, stopping him "What? No, you are not." He breathed in, stepping to the side and walking to his bike. He wrapped his leg and hooked it over. "Try me." He muttered, before speeding off.
