Chapter 7

Apollo

Monique was glaring at the back of his head, he could feel it. Could sense it. He huffed, shutting some extra tabs on his computer before turning around. He looked at her, crossing his arms and legs. "Yes, Monique? Is something bothering you?" She sarcastically shrugged.

"No, nothing. Just a one, why the hell did you cooperate with a fucking gang leader?!" Apollo sighed. He knew this was going to come up. He shrugged his shoulders. "It was four to fifteen, we would have been killed, no questions asked. We are here to protect, right?" She only stared at him, not answering his question. He sighed.

"So as police officers we want the least amount of casualties possible." She huffed, sitting on some other desk. He watched silently, it wasn't his. "Well, did you find any information about him? About the call? He shot something, you could hear the gunshot." Apollo never really thought to ask that question. "Well, I just-"

Kiyon walked up to the two, a happy smile on his face. "We're going out." Apollo just looked at him before turning around in his seat. "Sorry, I have a date with this girl I just met." Kiyon forcefully turned his chair around so Apollo could see him. "First off, you married, and second, liar." Apollo rolled his eyes.

"Uh, but I'm not married. And I do have a date with a pretty girl I met on the internet." She nodded her head, hopping off the counter and walking towards her desk. "Oh come on guys! Nothing's scheduled tonight, let's have some fun!" Apollo gave Kiyon a dead stare.

"You know Kiyon, the thing about being a police officer is, emergencies tend not to be scheduled." Kiyon gave him a frown. "Please, I promise it will be fun. I'll pay for all your drinks." Monique was the first to stand up. "I'm in." She says with a smile. Apollo glared at her.

"Sell out." He mumbled. Kiyon gave him a hopeful look. "Fine." He muttered, before turning back around in his seat. Kiyon cheers happily. "You are the best!" Apollo rolled his eyes.

Faline

Faline was tired, he didn't sleep much that night. However, just like everyone else, he had the stuff to do. He sat at his desk, looking across at the boy with black hair. Too unnatural to be real. Too dark to be original. Faline leaned over his desk. "You wanted to talk?"

There were two sets of guards, one for Faline, and one for the black-haired boy. "You ruined our fucking store!" He yelled angrily. Faline just shrugged. "You should have expected that. Let's just say it was playful revenge." He says with a smile. In reality, they should have done something way worse for 'playful revenge'. The boy in front of Faline huffed.

"How dare you. If it wasn't for us the Kitty Gang wouldn't be a thing!" He yelled angrily. Faline just watched. "Very true, you did help us in the beginning. But you and I both know that now we are more powerful than you would ever be. You started the war by killing my mother, now I'll just end it." He huffed, venom in his voice. "I killed your mother, and I'll kill you next."

The black hair boy and his guards walked out of the room. Faline laughed quietly. "Jeez, the Black Blood Gang were always known to be very hostile." Leo walked in. He rolled his eyes, crossing his arms silently. "I'm going to assume that the war is still going to happen."

Faline looked up with a smile "How did you know?" He shrugged, a grim look on his face. He was barely older than Faline, yet he still seemed disappointed in him. "Just a guess." Faline stood up, rolling his shoulders. "I need a drink" He muttered. He combed a hand through his pink hair, stepping out of the stuffy room and down the steps.

Apollo

"Why have I never heard of this place?" Monique asked as she stepped out of Apollo's car. Kiyon told Apollo where to go, but Apollo had to drive since supposedly he's the best. Apollo shrugged, stepping out and onto the concrete. One thing Kiyon had practically forced them to do, is change.

As he had said himself, "If you look like a police officer here you'll get mauled." They were already halfway there and Apollo didn't feel like driving back, so he just nodded Luckily the only defining feature that made them look like people of the government was their badges, so Apollo took his off, unbuttoning the two top buttons to seem wilder.

"Come on losers. Exploring new places is always fun!" Kiyon said excitedly, walking towards the front door. He got into the somewhat lengthy line getting his i.d out, Monique and Apollo doing the same. "You guys don't have to be with me. Hangout amongst yourselves. Have fun." He nodded towards Apollo, who looked annoyed.

He wanted to be with his wife, laying in bed and watching Hallmark movies. Well, it'd didn't have to be his wife, it could be anyone. It could be K-

"I.D please." The bouncer says, gaining Apollo's attention. Monique and Kiyon seemed to already be inside. He nodded, showing the other his i.d. The bouncer nodded, letting him inside. The place was bright, yer dark, being lit up with a dark purple light. The music was something he hasn't heard in a while, then again he never really listened to music. He walked, moving through dancing bodies to make his way to the bar.

He sits down on a barstool, turning to watch the crowd. Everyone seemed to have one in on their own  If it's grinding on the dance floor or talking to friends. This wasn't Apollo's favorite outing, but it was always fun when there were friends. He bobbed his head to the music, turning around to look towards the bartender, who was organizing things.

"Rum and coke." He said simply, but someone behind him groaned. "Ugh boring." The voice said. Apollo turned around, and his eyes widened. Pink hair, jeweled jacket, pale skin. He smiled. KG1. For as many times as he runs into the boy, he still doesn't know his name.

"You know, we all have our tastes," Apollo says with a shrug, watching as the pink-haired boy sat beside in, on the next barstool. "Sex in the Driveway." He ordered. Apollo scoffed, rolling his eyes. "I am not shocked you chose the most sexual drink on the menu." The gang leader shrugged.

"The officer and the gang leader, back at it again. Call this a sequel." He shrugged, watching as Apollo got his drink. He smiled, thanking the bartender. "No, it's a threequel. I saw you yesterday at the cafe." KG1 seemed shocked, he looked at Apollo. "So that was you. Are you following me?" He asked, raising an eyebrow with a smirk.

Apollo simply shakes his head, taking a sip of the coke-infused rum. "No, I wasn't. I was with my wife." The pink-haired gang leader shrugged. "Well, obviously there must be something different." He nudged Apollo's left hand with his hand "You aren't wearing your ring." Apollo rolls his eyes, switching his cup to his left hand.

"No, just didn't want to lose it." He sips his blue drink and laughs, what was so funny? "That's something a husband who is unfaithful would say." Apollo furred his eyebrows. He looked back into KG1's eyes.

Faline

And he did so as well. The childlike eyes. He smiled softly smile. He always seemed so, closed up, but for Apollo, maybe the eyes were the windows to the soul. He huffs, looking away. No time to fall in love with a police officer. "I'm not unfaithful," Apollo said, he seemed confused. Of course, he was unfaithful, so we kissed. Maybe he didn't see it that way.

"We kissed, didn't we? Did you like it?" Faline asked with a small smirk. However, Apollo didn't answer, instead of taking a sip of his drink. Fine, two can play at that game. "So, what would happen if I kissed you right now?" Apollo choked, which made Faline smile, he was winning.

Apollo places his drink down. "Nothing, because I won't let you." Faline raised an eyebrow, placing Apollo's rum onto the table, and getting out of his, seat. He walked closer, leaning in, though Apollo made the first move, connecting the kiss.

It was different than last time since now, there was nothing. No motive, no tense interactions, just them. Faline leaned forward to deepen the kiss, causing Apollo to comb a hand through Faline's straight pink hair. He pulled on it, making Faline pull out. Apollo seemed mad, which only made Faline happy.

"You are a troublemaker." He grumbled softly, grabbing their two drinks. Were they going somewhere? "Did that kiss make you feel anything?" He asked genuinely. He wanted Apollo to say yes, wanted Apollo to kiss him again, maybe he wasn't winning. Maybe he was losing. Maybe he was losing himself.
