Chapter 16

Apollo

He probably would have thrown it away if it wasn't for the fact that Faline was charming. The two had run inside just in for the man to take down the stand. "Hey!" Faline yelled, running up to him. He took a second to catch his breath, he had the receipt in his hand.

"I- we have food. We didn't notice the time, sorry." He said. The chef gave him a look, and Apollo had a feeling they couldn't get their food back. Faline frowned, bowing politely before flipping his hair from in front of his face. He knew what he was doing, and he could tell Apollo knew as well. The officer rolled his eyes, shaking his head. The man working the shop looked at him for a second, before waving his hand.

"It's fine. I believe they should still be warm in the oven." He said, before walking to the back. Faline looked at Apollo with a smirk, winking at him before going back to his guilty face. It was cute, sure. But the boy with the pink hair was sure as hell manipulative.

Apollo sighed, crossing his arms and watching the two's interaction. A girl with an apron, probably the guy's daughter, walks up with a plastic bag. However, she was only staring at Apollo. Faline grabbed his arm, pulling him closer to the girl.

"Uh, thanks." Apollo said with a smile, grabbing the bag when she handed it to him. She shrugged softly. "It's cool. Come back sometime, I would love to see that handsome face again." He looked to Faline for help, but he just smirked and tapped his hand. What does that- oh!

"Sorry, I'm married." He said with a small smile, showing her the silver band. "Oh, well I'm not shocked someone has you. May I ask who?" She asks, clicking some things on the computer before looking back up at him. Shouldn't she be like, studying?  "Oh, well-"

"Me."

Apollo looked up, watching Faline was over to him and hugging Apollo's arm that was tucked in his pocket. He took a deep breath, nodding. Her eyes widened, before bowing. "I am sorry for saying that!" She said, Faline raising an eyebrow. What the hell was happening?

"It's fine." He said simply, an unimpressed look on his face. He seemed bored of her antics, but even Apollo knew he was just playing with the girl. "Do you want a free drink? Or, free curry next time you come? I should not have done that." The father pokes his head out, before walking towards the three. "What's wrong?"

Faline shook his head. Apollo felt like a literal statue. "Nothing sir. We were just leaving." He looked back at Apollo. Ok, no more statues. "Ready?" Apollo nodded, waving to the girl and her father before being pulled by Faline. THe pink haired boy broke out into a smile.

"See look, we can have so much fun!" He said, still holding Apollo's arm. The officer rolled his eyes, holding the bag of curry with his wrist. "We need to find a place to eat." He says, ignoring Faline. The boy with the pink hair huffed, rolling his eyes before looking around.

Josein only seemed to have gotten more packed, with loud chatter everywhere you go. There wasn't much seating in the food area, and the minimal seating that was there were already taken. "Oh! I have an idea!" Faline said excitedly, running towards the exit. Apollo followed quietly.

He had never seen Faline this friendly before, but he surely didn't dislike the sudden new personality. Apollo hummed quietly as he made it to the exit. "Where are we going?" Apollo asked, placing the bag of food into the small box. Faline turns to Apollo with a smile. "Musashizuka Park." He says simply, hoping onto the bike.

"Come on." Apollo looked at Faline. Noticed his pink hair with brown roots flipped to the side. His skin was pale, with only his nose red. His small smile, his lips shining from lip gloss. "Ok." He says, nodding his head. "Let's go."

Faline

He didn't expect the park to be so bright, et the moon seemed to do the job. From the small ponds to the ancient sculptures, everything shined brightly from the crystal white moonlight. Faline followed Apollo inside. Shockingly the doors were already unlocked, all they had to do was walk through the gate.

Apollo pointed to a bench by the water, before walking towards it. Faline carried the bag in his hands, sitting down on the stone bench beside Apollo. He handed the police officer the chicken curry, a plastic spoon taped to the top.  He watched Apollo open the plastic lid, water drops condensing on the side. The boy with the brown hair ate a small piece of chicken, before humming. "Good." e says, his mouth full.

Faline hit him. "Hey, eat your food all the way before talking to me. Rude." He said with a smile, going to open his shrimp curry. Shrimp cover with brown sauce and basil leaves, rice on the side to complement the dish. He set the top to the side, using the spoon to get a little bit of everything, before taking a bite.

The food really was good, with a heated kick and a rich taste altogether. The basil leaves creating a small herbal taste. It was something Faline would have to try again. He sighed happily, the warmth of the food happily welcomed in the cold night air. "I see you like it too."

Faline shrugged. "It's good. You have great taste, Mr. Officer." He took another bite. "Yeah, I know. Was it better than the restaurant we went to yesterday?" Faline's pride wouldn't let him say no. He leaned over, taking a piece of chicken from Apollo's dish, and placing it in his. He didn't seem to mind.

"No way. Come on, the bears were too cute." Apollo shrugged, humming softly. Faline wanted to know what the hum meant, or if it meant anything at all. He wanted to learn about Apollo in general, not that he would allow the others to learn about him.

Faline poked at a piece of shrimp, before eating it. "They were, but I think that the curry is a little better." Faline rolled his eyes. "Oh come on, you just saying that to be better than me." He was a hypocrite. Apollo shrugged, closing his now empty container of food. "Maybe, maybe not. The world may never know."

But Faline wanted to know.
