Ethan was sitting under a tree, gazing at four Horned-Donkeys grazing in the grassland.
These Horned-Donkeys remind him of the American Bison back on earth. Donkeys with horns or the size of a Bison did not surprise him as he had reincarnated in another world.
Four years ago he reincarnated in this game universe called Card Craft Stargazer's Legend.
Imagine his terror, he slept as the 15-year-old world champion of the 25th edition of Card Craft Stargazer's legend and woke up as a newborn baby in the game he bested.
Four years is a lot of time for a teenager trapped in a toddler's body. The first few days after his reincarnation Ethan spent most of his time in the following order,
Feeding on breast,
Depressed,
Sleeping,
Depressed and bored,
Wetting and soiling himself,
Ashamed and depressed,
Hungry…
The following cycle kept repeating itself. Which worried Ethan's new parents into thinking that their child was possessed or replaced by demons. In this world, the possibility of that happening was very likely.
This cycle broke one day when he saw his mother reveal her Star Gem and summon her Card deck. 'Stargazer' thought Ethan, recognising the Star Gem and Card deck from a game he used to play. This magical sight forever changed his attitude towards his reincarnation. And brought new desires and ambition to Ethan as he realized that he hadn't just reincarnated but reincarnated in his favourite game.
The Star Gem on his mother's wrist and the Card deck that she summoned were the same as in the game from his previous life. The world that Ethan had woken up to was no different from the real world but it also had the elements of the game he used to play. He was quite bewildered but after a few days of keen observation and eavesdropping he concluded that he reincarnated in another world which happens to be the video game that he was infatuated with back on earth, 'Card Craft Stargazer's Legend'
In the game, people like Ethan's mother who have forged their Star Gem and Card deck are called Stargazers. A group of people dominating the top of the card craft universe food chain. Every sentient creature in this universe dreams to become a Stargazer. After all, becoming a Stargazer is the fastest way out of one's misery and gaining social status.
'If it is the Card Craft universe then this life will not be as bland as the last one. Maybe in this universe, I can live a fulfilling life without regret.' Thought Ethan. As his life back on earth was not something he would refer to as living.
With his newfound ambition, Ethan spent his toddler years trying to gather as much information as possible on which stardate and where exactly he was born. Gathering the information Ethan realized that he was in trouble, very big trouble.
If his memory serves right, he reincarnated during the 1st edition of the game Card Craft Stargazer's legend. The most chaotic and disastrous period in the history of the Card Craft universe. In 7 years the peaceful planet he is inhabiting is about to be obliterated due to a universal disaster known as 'Realm Drift'.
Realm Drift is a phenomenon where different Realms of the universe move over astrological time relative to each other. There is no way to escape this disaster as the Astro science of the Stargazers can not predict which realm will move? When and where will it move? But there are two ways to know the answer to these questions,
1. Map the entire universe so that using the Astro Science calculations the Stargazers can predict which realm will move when and where.
2. Seeing into the future.
Mapping the entire universe was easier said than done. So the first option was too far-fetched, to begin with. As for the second option of seeing into the future, Ethan had something similar, the game knowledge he brought along during his reincarnation.
He knew every important historical date and event dating up to the 25th edition of Card Craft Stargazer's Legend. Which included all the important game storylines, scenarios, quests and NPCs. Not to mention the hidden quest items and Cards of unique and legendary ratings.
Despite all the game knowledge, it was impossible for Ethan to know which one out of the numerous human settlements would survive or be destroyed. Unless or until they were part of the game's main storyline. But this much knowledge was enough for Ethan to solve his current predicament. As all he had to do was get his parents to move to one of the planets that survived till the 25th edition of Card Craft Stargazer's Legend.
Other than gathering information Ethan also focused on forging his Star Gem according to the process he learned in the game. Forging his Star Gem early would gain him the means to defend himself and have a say in his new family.
And so the toddler Ethan had set two goals for himself,
1. Convince his family to move to a safer planet by any means necessary.
2. Forge his Star Gem.
