The Rescue

For the first time since its establishment, the agency building experienced a blackout. Every single floor in the building was shrouded in black. The generators that were regularly checked and filled stayed off.

All the backup plans they had set up failed. Inside the private quarters of the 50th floor, Lucas lay paralyzed in bed, Thea beside him. Unlike ordinary werewolves and humans, his body was stronger.

The strong dose of knock-out gas that flowed freely in the air couldn't put him to sleep. Rather, it paralyzed his body, preventing any movement. The only part of his body that could move was his eyes.

His heart thud erratically in his chest, his mind working fast. Never in his wildest dreams did he anticipate such a day. From the beginning, he was three steps ahead of his enemies.
