Chapter 37

Celeste wasn't quite sure how to respond to what she had just been told. Fated beloved and Moon Goddess? It sounded like something contrived rather true.

She kept staring at the other trying to look for any indication that what he said was a joke or that he was just giving her a heard.

The more she looked though, the less she could find anything from the expression he cast upon.

"I'm sorry, but I don't think that I can do this." She replied, pulling her hands away and turning away from the other. She knew she rs blushing simply because Divo had such a sincere expression on his face and it was the first time that anyone had looked at her that way.

She couldn't though bring herself to believe what he was saying. He may not have been fully human, but this was taking things too far.

"You don't believe me?" The alpha, his voice was oddly calm with a hint of hurt in it as he looked at Celeste.

He wanted to reach out and touch her but was afraid she might pull away from him again.

"It doesn't sound real. I kind of believe what you said about there being two parts to you only because I saw it for myself." She replied. She kept her gaze focused ahead and tried not to look back at the other.

"But this I think is taking things to far. Maybe It's just for fun to you but I don't believe in such a thing as a fated person. If anything all I have ever had since you came around is nothing but trouble." As though to emphasize her point, three heavy and rather angry sounding knocks came from her front door.

The unexpected sound startled her.

Without waiting for Celeste to do anything, Bane or rather Divo at that moment got up to see who was at the door since he saw how unsettled the little human was. It was enough to indicate to him that she wasn't expecting anyone to stop by.

"Who is it?" He asked in gruff tone of voice. He didn't want anyone bothering them right at that moment in time. He was dealing with something important.

"Bane!" an excited female's voice squealed from the other side of the door. His eyes narrowed when he realized who it was. She was the last person he wanted to deal with. How did she find out where he was.

"Go away." He told her flatly, ready to close the door in her face. He didn't get the chance though before the other managed to sneak her fingers in through the crack and tug the door open another inch.

"Is that any way to speak to your future mate?" she asked with a pout as she peeked one of her eyes in through the crack.

Celeste had come over to see what was going on. She couldn't hear what Divo was saying but she recognized the sound of a female's voice. It didn't sound like Jen's though.

"Who Is It?" she asked curious. The question and her appearance came at a bad time however.

For the alpha suddenly became distracted as he turned his head to tell that it was no one that she need worry about.

When he did this however, the woman on the other side of the door took this opportunity to pry the door open.

Gone was the fluffy sweet personality when she was talking to him. Instead she looked rather upset and as though she was ready to murder someone.

"I had heard you were coming over to talk with someone, I didn't expect it to be her though." the woman rather maliciously as she glared at Celeste.

The later was confused for a moment as to why the other was being hostile towards her until she remembered who she was.

"You're that mean girl from the store!" she exclaimed. What was she doing at her apartment? She didn't think that she knew where she lived.

Divo grabbed the other woman's arm before she could do anything.

"This person caused you trouble?" he asked, directing the question at Celeste who looked between the two of them as she tried to figure out what was going on.

"I'm not sure if I'd say trouble.." she replied hesitantly. She couldn't deny that the other woman looked more intimidating now than she did when she first bumped into.

"She just told me off for a photo that was posted on the internet of you being in the coffee shop with me and said I needed to back off because she's your mate." Anger rolled off the alpha when he heard this.

No wonder Celeste had said what she did, this woman had to go off and say something like that.

"She's the one causing problems after you already promised that you'd be my mate." The woman insisted despite feeling intimidated by the change in the alpha's aura.

"Dian, you've already caused enough trouble." he told her in an annoyed tone of voice as he turned to look at her.

"That's a promise you made on your own, not something that I ever agreed to you. How many times must I tell you I have no intention of keeping it?" Dian looked like she was about ready to cry after he had this.

Celeste couldn't deny that Divo was being rather cold to someone who seemed so attached to him.

"This girl right here that you dared to speak illy of and treat that way is the one that the Moon Goddess picked for me." Dian turned her attention to look at the human with the same look of disgust that was in her eyes earlier.

"But how can she be? She's only human. She can't give you the same power and support that I can." Dian insisted. She honestly couldn't believe that someone was powerful as Divo would be paired with such a weak thing as a human, there had to be some kind of mistake.

"It's not just about power and things like that." He sighed as he quickly began to lose his patience.

"Now it's time for you to leave." Even if the female werewolf wanted to resist him, she knew she couldn't. Even in human form, his power far surpassed hers. There was nothing she could do to stop him from shoving her back outside the apartment and locking the door behind her.
