Divo took a deep breath once he was certain that the door was properly locked so even if the other kept pounding on it, they wouldn't be able to get inside. He could only hope that she would leave before she became too much of a nuisance.
Once he was done with Celeste, he would have to find out how she learned where he was at. There would be hell to pay for whoever leaked the information to her. It was none of her business what he did as she had no honest claim on him.
"Don't you think that what you did was a bit harsh?" Celeste asked from behind, her voice sounded exactly like she was questioning what he had just done.
"Not in the slightest. If I don't handle her that way, she will keep doing exactly what's she doing." Divo replied back, a little more cold than he had meant to. His good mood however had been ruined by the appearance of that female werewolf.
"She obviously likes you though. So I mean, you could try and talk with her about it and let her down a little nicer." Celeste pointed out.
"Or you could just go out with her since it seems like you two might be a better fit if you're both the same." Her last sentence annoyed him.
"I will do no such thing because she's not my mate." The alpha bristled as he strode across the room to take his seat back on the sofa.
"She doesn't actually like me as much as she likes the idea of becoming the Luna of a powerful alpha. It's not something that will happen though because we're not destined to be mates." He explained.
"Is it really that big of a deal if you pick to be with someone else than whoever this destined mate is?" The little human asked, a bit weary. She was finding more reasons than not that she was better of not being with Divo or Bane or both of them for that matter if things like what had just happened was what she had to look forward to.
"Of course it is." he replied back matter-of-factly.
"You're my chosen mate the way I feel when I'm around you and the scent you give off proves that. If I chose anyone else besides you it either wouldn't work out because we're not meant to be or I would end up stealing someone else's mate. That person would be heart-broken if they couldn't be with the person who the Moon Goddess picked for them." He explained.
"You keep mention this "Moon Goddess" But I honestly have no idea what that is." Celeste said feeling rather tired as she came to sit down in the chair opposite of him. She didn't miss the fact that Divo frowned when she did this.
"You're not one of us yet so you wouldn't understand, but once you are- you'll get it to. You'll feel the presence and hear the gentle voice that lets you know that no matter what's going on that everything will be okay." The alpha answered. Celeste paused for a second as she processed what she had just been told.
"Hold on, what do you mean until I become one of you?" She was taken aback over the idea that there was any chance that she could become something like what Divo was. No intentional offense meant to him.
"You're my mate. Once we make it official which has to be during the full moon, you'll become just like me." There was something akin to excitement that shone in his eyes when he said this.
"But I haven't even agreed to any of this yet!" Celeste exclaimed. Now it felt like she was suddenly being pushed into things that she didn't know anything about and wouldn't have much of a choice in.
"You haven't yet, but you will." Divo replied as he got up and came over to kneel in front of Celeste, he gentle put his hands on his shoulders as he looked into her eyes. That same look of affection and adoration had returned to her eyes as he stared her intently.
"The Moon Goddess has determined that you're my perfect mate which means that regardless of anything- we will end up together whether it's this month or years from now. Nothing can change that course of action." Somehow hearing him say this made the thought of it rather suffocating to the little human.
She didn't like nor could she agree with the fact that she wasn't going to have any say in who she ended up with. That somehow seemed wrong and unfair.
"You say that but I don't think that this is something that I can agree to so quickly or at all." Celeste replied as she leaned further back in the chair to try and create some distance between herself and the other.
He wasn't doing anything to her, but the lack of distance between them somehow bothered her. Even more so with the way he was keeping his hands on her knees.
"But Celeste, you must understand that there's no one better for you in this world than me. I always be the perfect mate for you. The only person who can cherish you and protect you in the way that you need." Divo insisted as he leaned up closer to the human. Her scent was getting to him again and he felt the strong urge to kiss the other as though to prove his point.
"I don't care what anyone else says or thinks, you'll always be the only one for me. I know it might take you some time to come to understand this. I'm sure though that once you do, you'll realize that I'm right and everything will be okay." He was trying to say all of this in what he thought would be a soothing and reassuring way, but after he had finished speaking, Celeste somehow seemed as though she was more distressed.
"Please leave. I can't handle this right now." She said, the edge of her voice was a little shaky as she wasn't certain that the other would listen to her request.
The positive thoughts that she had began building about the other had almost instantly crumbled away after what he said. In her mind it sounded like the ramblings of a rich stalker who didn't know the meaning of the word know.
Someone dangerous who had created this strange would in his imagination where he would have her no matter what and that if she let him stay near, things wouldn't end well.
"Please." Celeste insisted, stopping Divo from saying whatever he opened his mouth to say.
He didn't really want to leave the other since he could that she was distressed but at the same time he didn't feel as though he had a choice as it seemed he was the reason for her suddenly becoming like this.
