Can you be my life partner?

After waking up Leah, Aunt Kylie came and made us breakfast. On my way to the school, I kept on thinking about her. What is happening to me? I've never felt like this to anyone before. I can't stop thinking about her. I reached the school and searched for her but I couldn't find her. I guess she is on leave today. The classes started and within the first five minutes, I heard a voice from the door.

" Sir, may I get in?"

Everybody in the class turned their head to the door.

" Oh Amanda, why are you late?"

" I am extremely sorry sir, the bus was late."

" The bus was late? How could you say that? Your parents do have a car, then how can this be a reason? I am done with your stupid excuses Amanda, I was good to you after all that happened in your family and I feel so sorry for you, but I hate children being late for my class."

" Sir, she is not a frequent late comer, besides she is just five minutes late." I raised my voice.

The whole class turned to me in total surprise, I could see that in their eyes.

" So who is he? Your guardian?" Sir asked, turning to Amanda.

" I apologize for his back answering. I know that I am wrong and I'll never repeat it again sir." Amanda apologized to him.

" Ha, get in." he said in an ignorant tone.

After the lectures, I was all alone in the class, packing my books.

" Hey" Amanda came in with few books in her hand.

" Ha, hi."

" Why did you speak for me in the class?" She asked me.

" Because I felt that you didn't deserve to be punished."

"Mmm, aha right. So, did you find a partner for that geography exploring project?"

" Actually no, I must today."

" Oh well then, can we be partners?" She asked looking at the books.

Are you serious? Amanda Willson is my partner? Does she mean 'life partners'? Oh stop it Lijah, don't act too excited, it's just a project, she has no feelings for you. But what if she has? Oh, this is so good. I love you Amanda, you are so perfect and perfect and perfect!!!!!

" Hello?" she snapped her fingers in front of my face.

" Does your silence mean 'no'." she asked.

" No? no, no, no. I mean, yes. Why not? Sure, we can be partners then." I responded with a straight face by holding back the urge to throw a party and kiss her.

She smiled back and took a turn to go.

" Ok so, today 4'o clock by the river?" I asked, praying to all the Gods I know to hear a 'yes' from her.

She took a second to respond and that is totally understandable.

" Sure Lijah, see you then."
