Give me your lunch box

"Not glad to meet you, Naoki," replies Hiroshi.

When Naoki is walking toward his seat, he hears some girls gossiping along the way.

"OMG, his ocean blue eyes are so attractive. I can't take my eyes off him."

"Naoki is super hot."

"He is so charming. Wait, his blue eyes. Is he a foreigner? But, his Japanese is so fluent. "

"It seems like Hiroshi knows Naoki. I hope you two get along. Take a seat, Naoki. Now let's start the class," said Mr. Tomomi Shinada. After a light lecture of first-class, Hiroshi curiously asks,

"You are King of Doom. Why do you bother coming to school when you don't even need it."

"I get bored doing nothing, so I plan to bother you. Since you don't have friends at school, I can be your friend at school while you entertain me with your sensitive reaction. It's a win-win situation for us. Don't you think so?" smirks Naoki. Hiroshi, trying to detect a lie, stares straight into Naoki's eye. Naoki, who earnestly proposes the idea, returns the stares straight into Hiroshi's eye with cute puppy eyes begging to accept his proposal.

"Sigh, you don't know when to give up, do you? Let me think about it." Hiroshi, finally giving up being stubborn towards Naoki, admits defeat and thinks about the proposal. Naoki's eyes sparkle as he is satisfied with the answer. When lunchtime arrives, everyone from the class begins to leave one by one or as a group towards the cafeteria.  Hiroshi takes out his lunch from his backpack. He notices that Naoki doesn't have anything to eat during lunchtime.

"You don't bring a lunch box?" questions Hiroshi.

"No, I don't. I thought we don't need to bring a lunch box. Isn't there a cafeteria at school?" said Naoki with confusion on his look.

"What?! Is he serious?" thought Hiroshi in shock to learn that Naoki forgets to bring a lunch box.

"Yes, there is a cafeteria. You can go and buy lunch there, but the food is expensive," said Hiroshi.

"Oh, I see. Can you follow me when I go to the cafeteria?" replied Naoki.

"Nope. Enjoy your lunch alone," answered Hiroshi. Then, he sticks out his tongue in a cute way and winks at Naoki at the same time.

A girl overheard the conversation of Hiroshi and Naoki.

"You can have my lunch, Naoki," the girl offers.

"No, thank you." Naoki, with a smile containing the meaning, get the fuck out of here, I don't want to talk to you, rejects without a second thought.

"Oh, I see," the girl smiles and leaves with a tomato face of embarrassment from Naoki. Then, the girl departs the class.

"Hiroshi, I want to eat your lunch. Give me." Naoki stretches out his both hand and reaches towards Hiroshi's lunch box.

"No, I only have this food for my lunch," remarks Hiroshi. Hiroshi, with a quick reflex, slaps both Naoki's hands before it grabs Hiroshi's lunch box.

"You are a meanie," pouts Naoki with the look of a lost, hungry puppy who is begging for food with its innocent cute face.

"Ugh, fine. Let's share half of my lunch. You owe me an expensive meal," said Hiroshi boldly. Constantly nodding his head, Naoki agrees with Hiroshi's request.

"At last, finally, I can taste the food that Hiroshi cooks," thought Naoki, "his lunch looks delicious. Why do I feel like I have tasted these foods before?"

A scene of Hiroshi, smiling from ear to ear, preparing breakfast in Kenzo's house flashes before Naoki's eyes as in Kenzo's perspective. While Naoki takes his first bite of Hiroshi's lunch, tremendous drops of tears begin running down like a river from his eyes.

"Eh? Naoki, why are you crying? Does my lunch taste that bad?" Shocks from Naoki's tears, Hiroshi begins to panic, thinking Naoki doesn't like his lunch.

"What? I am crying? No, your lunch tastes amazing." Naoki, who is also shocked to hear that he is crying, places his hands on his cheeks to discover he was weeping.

"Why am I crying?" questions Naoki, remembering the scene that flashes before his eyes, "Hiroshi, did you usually make breakfast for someone?"

"Sort of I usually make breakfast for Kenzo," replies Hiroshi, who begins to think about the times with Kenzo, with a melancholy smile, "Why?"

"Ahh, it's nothing," says Naoki, who is in deep thought of the situation that he was in a while ago.

"Let's eat quickly! The class is about to restart," reminds Hiroshi.

"Oh right, crap. Thank you for the reminder." Naoki begins to gulp down his portion down quickly. After they finished eating their lunch, they begin to clean up their place and prepare for the next class. Naoki attends the school subjects like a regular student.

Ding Dong, Ding Dong

"Alright, class. That's it for today. I won't give homework today. Have a relaxing rest of the day," said the Chemistry teacher. Hiroshi takes his cellphone and his earphone out of his bag and prepares to leave.

"Hiroshi! Wait for me," shouts Naoki. Everybody in the class turns their attention towards Hiroshi and Naoki.

"Nope," replied Hiroshi, but end up waiting for Naoki at the door. After Hiroshi and Naoki left, the classmates begin to chatter.

"They sure are close. Are Hiroshi and Naoki dating or something?" murmurs one of the classmates in jealousy of the fact that Hiroshi is closed with Naoki.

"I am glad that Hiroshi finally has someone to talk to at class," mutters one of the classmates in relief.

"Yea, I agree. After Kenzo left, Hiroshi, who is hard to approach to become friends, goes back to his usual self," utters one of the classmates who is happy for Hiroshi.

"It's a relief Hiroshi is opening up to one of our classmates. Let's not make Hiroshi's life harder. He had a huge blow when Kenzo passed away," whispers the class president, who has a smile of delight.

Everybody in Hiroshi's class begins to tear up at the thought of Kenzo. They miss Kenzo, who is like the sunshine that brightens up the school year, dearly as today was their first day of Grade 11. Some classmates were on the brink of crying, while some were trying to hold onto the tears. They all knew that Kenzo and Hiroshi were dating back in the days as they witness the positively pure and innocent love between Hiroshi and Kenzo. Of course, there used to be some classmates who wouldn't support their relationship; however, they slowly begin to accept their relationship as time passed. They witnessed how Hiroshi started to warm up to all of his classmates when they were dating. Sadly, after Kenzo died, Hiroshi shut out everyone from his life just like he used to before he dated Kenzo.
