Guild Base Construction; Rokuko's Arrival

Hey, Shun here!

Is it a sadistic behavior to tease people? I think not.

If it is, I think lots of people would fall in that sadistic category…

(Shun's POV)

When I, Miu, and Tsuka arrived at the Second Town, we were greeted by the beautiful and lush scenery of houses made out of wood erected nearby fruit trees. Children were climbing up these trees, picking up the ripe fruits that they could reach.

"Waaah!"

"Be careful Zoe! You need to always be careful of your steps."

One child got careless and slipped from the branch of a tree. Thankfully, their parents is below the trees and was ready to catch them.

They shouldn't have allowed their kids to climb up that tree, is what I wanted to say but when I was a kid myself, I really like climbing up trees. The sense of looking down the scenery from a higher point of view was really exhilarating.

"Ah, I remember climbing up the tree when we were kids. Onii-chan also caught me like that back then, right?" Miu seems to have recalled something from our childhood.

"Miu climb, trees too~? Trees, high and nice!" I patted Tsuka on the head before replying to Miu.

"Yeah, I remember that too. Those were some of the most fun times we had as kids…"

"You got squished though! Hahaha!" At this remark, I couldn't help but smile wryly.

"Good thing there was a thick patch of grass below us. You were so free back then… Not that you changed that much though." I said while looking at her with a teasing expression plastered on my face.

"Hey, what do you mean by that!? I grew up properly, okay!?"

"I guess so?"

"Grrr! It's not you guess so!"

While we were doing these little banters, we continued on exploring the Second Town to search for the [Carpenter]. Miu had beta experience and knew this town's streets like it's the back of her hands but, as expected, a pure combat focused player like her wouldn't know about where a [Carpenter] is, most especially when no one from the beta bothered to buy 10 plots of land.

They can't be blamed though. It was certainly expensive, I'll give them that.

During our tour around the Second Town, which is apparently called Wudecroft by the townsfolk, we found many NPCs selling wands, arrows, sticks, and etc. We asked many NPCs for the location of the [Carpenter's] house and thankfully, we got some leads from them.

These said leads led us to a rundown wooden house. At the back of this house is a well maintained workshop with many wooden furnitures neatly placed in rows at one side.

"Wow, this place is surprisingly neat and tidy even though the house looks like it's close to breaking. Shocking."

"Shocking~?"

Miu's careless comment was followed by Tsuka who was trying to mimic her. She's currently riding on top of my shoulders by the way.

"You need something from these old bones of mine?" Whilst we were looking around, we heard an old and raspy voice of a man coming from behind us.

"Ah, we're looking for the [Carpenter], sir. The farmer said that we should pay him a visit if we want a building to be done."

"Oho? You have a job for me? Let me see the layout…"

Although I was surprised that this old gentleman was the [Carpenter] we were looking for, I handed over the layout of our soon to be Guild Base to him. Since our Guild's quite small, and we don't plan on making it into a huge one, I decided that three floors should be enough.

One floor for a shop where we will sell all the items we produce, second floor is where our workshops will be located, and third floor is for the gatherings and entertainment.

Maybe I could even let other players to rent some corners at the first floor so that they could erect a shop there. Speaking of shops, I should probably ask Magi-san if she wants to join our Guild later.

Anyway, this wouldn't be our last meeting with the [Carpenter] since it looks like constructing such a huge building costs lots of money. Who would've thought?

At the moment, I could only afford the making of our entire first floor and some bits of the third floor. To completely finish the building, I will need more gold.

"You really spent all of your money today, Onii-chan. Here, why don't you take some of my money? I have lots from the beta."

"Nah, you save that for now. If I can't finish it in time by myself, I'll surely ask for your help, okay?"

"Okay…"

Outside of our newly built, although still unfinished Guild Base, I, Miu, and Tsuka were standing at the side of the main street. I and Miu were talking about today's huge expenditures while Tsuka was going "Whooooah! Big, house~!"

That's not a house but… nevermind.

With our Guild Base finished(somewhat), I separated with Miu who went away to brag and tell her friends about the newly built Guild Base. I and Tsuka, on the other hand, went back to Agann Town to meet with Rokuko who should be logging in around this time.

However, before that, we went to the town square and looked for Magi-san and her stall there.

"Welcome to Magi-san's stall— Oh, Shun-kun, you're here again? Do you miss onee-san that much? Oh, who's this?" Magi-san wanted to greet me like her usual customer at first, but then she saw me and Tsuka when she raised her head.

"Hello. Tsuka is, Tsuka. Nice meeting, you."

"So it's Tsuka-chan huh. It's very nice to meet you too."

"Hey there, Magi-san. I actually came here this time to invite you in our still unofficial guild."

Magi-san raised an eyebrow at this invitation that came out of the blue.

"Guild? Are you sure you want to make a Guild? The quest to establish one is very hard you know?" Her doubt is not surprising, given that I'm literally a new player.

"I think we'll manage that somehow. Just yesterday, I managed to solo the Blade Lizard. All of the members of our Guild, even Tsuka, managed to defeat it and advance to the Second Town as well."

To convince to join, I dropped a bomb on her. Having a beta tester on our Guild, especially a crafter, is vital to our Guild.

She could become our Guild's dedicated blacksmith. And a really great blacksmith at that. She wouldn't be one of the top crafters if she's no good in her craft, after all.

"Blade Lizard!? You defeated it already!? People are just barely able to defeat Big Boars and Sandmen in huge quantities, not to mention bosses. Guilds who could monopolize the materials so there's no other way of getting higher tier materials. Wait… that scarf and bow…" As if something clicked inside her mind, Magi-san looked intensely at my face.

"Ah! I finally remember! Aren't you that guy who defeated the Blade Lizard one on one!? My God, how did I not recognize you!?"

"Haha. Well, the angles I picked from that video was to show how the Blade Lizard got hit by me so it was kinda hard to recognize me in that particular video."

"Do you have any of the Blade Lizard's drops, then? The [Stone of Bladescales] to be specific. I need it to create a good armor for one of my clients so, do you have one?"

"Eh, I don't know if we have one… If I remember correctly, there was something like that in my inventory. Around four of them?" I don't know why but I suddenly had this huge urge to tease Magi-san.

Right, speaking of armor materials, I do have something lying around my inventory.

"Aside from the four [Stone of Bladescales] that I have, I also have this [Stone of the Tempest] and fourty of something called [Fine Iron Ore]…"

"Alright, alright! I get it already! You have many materials, even that rare item that I don't know of. I'll… I'll join your Guild." Alright! Top class crafter, get!

"Top crafter, getto~?" Hey, Tsuka, don't say what I'm thinking out loud.

"Okay, Master. Tsuka, won't~…" Tsuka replied in a whisper. Good.

"Oh, by the way Magi-san."

"What is it this time!? Gosh, you really want to kill your onee-san out of heart attack?" The look Magi-san is giving me right now is really quite scary. Well, I'm still in the mood to tease her so, screw it.

"Uh, no. I just want to say that you could move your stall at our Guild Base at the Southern District. It should be easy to spot since it's right beside the main road."

"You know what? Just leave for now, Shun-kun. Onee-san will talk to you later."

After saying goodbye to the exasperated Magi-san, Tsuka and I went to the fountain at the town square to wait for Rokuko to go online.

Sure enough, after we reached the place, I received a message from Rokuko.

✽✽[Inbox]✽✽

Rokuko: Hey, Shun! Where are you? I'm already in the game.(Unread)

✽✽✽✽✽✽✽✽✽✽

Right after reading her message, I saw a blonde girl who seems to be around her early teens, sitting at a bench near the fountain, her clear blue eyes wandering around. There she is.
