Kingdom of Trovarakh

Zeus Academy, the prestigious school of the Trovarakh Kingdom! These people on stage were here to test students to see which ones will be fit to take to the kingdom. But my first impression of them was already bad.

"They wanted to be different from the new lands because our lands suffered greatly from them. But they are also being just like the new kingdom by only favoring the strong. They only want to take the strong and leave behind and poor and weak. They are no different from each other. But if I want to advance in this world, I need to go to an academy with the correct resources for me. I need things that will help with my cultivation."

After a little bit, Marcus started to say the directions. "Everyone will now pick a card from this here bowl, each card has a number. The numbers will decide who you are going to spar with. Injuring someone irreversibly or ending someone's life is prohibited."

Soon after, every got their card and waited for Marcus to speak. "We will now begin." around 50 people came from nowhere and started to use earth mana to form large stone platforms. These were the fighting grounds. Marcus was planning to weed out the weak ones in the early matches and then keep the strong ones for the large tournament at the end.

After a little bit of waiting, it was my turn. "Number 888, please come to platform n.16" That was me. I went up to the platform and saw who I was fighting. A kid who was probably the same age as me. He looked poor just like me as well. Dark blue hair and bright green eyes. His name was Kora Keji. "Nice you meet you, my name is Ren Gold. May be have an equal battle."

I wanted to make good impressions to everyone in case of marketing. "Now that you both have introduced yourselves, you may begin. remember that getting out of this ring means that you will lose." We then started. I knew that I was far above his level. So I did not go too hard on him. I swiftly went behind him and tapped him in the back of his neck. He fell down immediately. I wanted for him to at least to and resist but he didn't at all. "Ren Gold, you advance to the next minor fight." This process went on for multiple people in different small fights.

After everyone was done fighting multiple times. There were 100 people left. It was an insanely small amount of people considering that there was more than 10,000 at the start. Everyone was battered and bruised but they had healing medics on stand by. I simply healed myself with Extreme Mend although I didn't need too. These fights were extremely easy, I felt no challenge throughout any of them, I didn't even need to use mana.

For the next 100 people, it was a give up system. Each person would fight 1 on 1 but the other person had to give up for the fight to be over. Each person had multiple times to fight and fighting once didn't eliminate them, but if you won once, you didn't have to fight again. My fight was against someone named Zoran Keji. "Hi, i've fought with your brother, he was strong" I said to him. "Don't make me laugh, he is a weakling that doesn't deserve any praise". I already didn't like him. I tried the same with Zoran, going behind him and tapping him on the neck, but when I tried it he stopped it by forming rock mana on his neck.

"Don't underestimate me Ren." I was a bit surprised but it still wasn't anything special. I then used water magic to sweep the floor with him. There was no need to use advanced mana elements. He was embarrassed he lost so quickly but by this time, everyone had noticed that me and some other few people including Zoran were the talented of the bunch. Even the 9 nobles on the podium were starting to notice.

"It's my loss, your strong!" Zoran was embarrassed but he didn't let his pride get in his way. "Thanks, I hope we will meet again someday, and maybe you might surpass me then, Zoran." Ren wanted to make Zoran feel better but ended up making a rival. "Thats a bet!"

After everyone fought again, around 60 people passed this test. It had a 0.6% passing rate. There were some in the crowd that caught my eye. They had potential but they weren't anything too special. "Alright students, you have all passed and will now be able to go to our Kingdom. All of your families will also be able go to The kingdom of Troyarakh and live there completely free." I wanted to ask if everyone else in this poor city would be abandoned just like the 8 great families abended us, but I didn't want to be kicked out of the academy on my first day.

After this the passing students and their families were called to the front of the school. They were informed on what was going on and many people were cheering because of how happy they were. My family was also very happy. My sister and brother didn't pass the test but they got to go to better schools in the kingdom of Trovarakh even if it wasn't Zeus Academy.

They had mana bubbles each of the families stayed in during the travel there. My family was ecstatic the whole ride. They were like cavemen seeing new technology as we approached the kingdom. It was sad. The people in the old lands suffered incomprehensible things.

When we arrived we were introduced to our living quarters. It was no short of a mansion. Having 8 rooms, 8 bathrooms, and also had 6 workers there for cleaning, and cooking. They also had guards on the outside which was very relieving for me. I no longer had to keep an eye on my family and could completely focus on cultivating my strength. As soon as my family came inside the butlers presented themselves with light magic and introduced themselves. The head butlers name was Maurice.

He was strong. His aura was intimidating. He must have been at the peak of conjurer realm. If not Heavenly Distinguished realm. He wore a black suit and had a monocle. His white hairs revealed he was very old but but stature was tall and straight. He must have been at least 6'3. You could see his muscles popping out of his suit. At this time I was only at a height of 4'11. All of the other workers were females. 4 of them were maids in their early 30s and one was the head chef. Bartha. Her forearms were bigger than that of Maurices. She was also intimidating but not because of her muscles or her mana, but because of her very agressive face.

My sister and brother immediately went around the house, looking at everything there was. My mother couldn't help but cry. Her whole life and her entire family had always lived in the slums. But for them to move to such a place was amazing. I was also quite surprised that the old lands could have evolved so greatly to give mansions like these to commoners.

After a few days my family was still getting used to life. I searched the area and inspecting everything. The kingdom was very well developed. It looked exactly like a random city in the kingdom of Sovereign. There were barely any thieves but the problem wasn't them, it was the guards. They were corrupt, at least most of em.

These guards hated commoners that came from different poor cities. They thought that commoners from poor cities just infested their rich lands. It annoyed me and me think that if even guards, the ones supposed to keep the peace in the kingdom, were discriminatory. How could normal society act towards us.

There was also a very bustling economy. Most city streets were full of shops. There was also an alchemy facility where alchemy masters resided. They ran most business because of their ability to create things that helped in cultivation.

I also realised that the school I was going to was for big nobles. The kingdom of Trovarakh was not as big as the kingdom of Sovereign but it was still a ginormous land with hundreds of millions of people, it was not to be underestimated.

After about a week of getting used to our daily lives, school started.
