Ailard

"What's up with both you and Luan?" said Jacin, setting down his smartphone. "Trying to rebel against your lecturers or what?"

Ailard rolled his eyes. "I don't see how skipping classes could be label as rebelling."

"Then? What's it? Luan has never skipped his classes before." Said Jacin, pushing his grey hair out of his eyes and squinting at Ailard. "Maybe he was dumped by anyone."

"Luan would never be dumped by any girls. Instead, he would be the one dumping every girl who has confessing to him." Said Ailard irritably.

That was true. There was never any occasion where Luan would be dumped by any girls before. Instead, Luan has always witnessed pretty girls cried their eyes out after confessing to him and Luan always remained expressionless once they left.

"Have you tried to reach him out?" Jacin asked.

"I did, but he is not picking up his phone." Ailard exhaled an exhausted sigh.

"Maybe you should go to his house." Jacin suggested. "It's not like you don't know his house’s password." He added.

"You don't have to tell me that idiot." Ailard muttered. "I'm going to do it anyway."

"Oh?" Jacin said, not very kindly. "I thought Luan already changes his house’s password so that you won't be able to get inside his house."

"Did you think we are having a lover quarrelling?" Ailard asked, sounding a little bit of annoyed.

Jacin shrugged. "Believe me, people who are not close with you will always think you guys are a lover. After all, Luan don't even show his interest on any girls before."

Ailard made an impatient noise. "Well, showing no interest on girls doesn't mean that you are gays."

Jacin snorted. "What is the best term for that?"

"It's just that Luan..." Ailard paused and stared at him. "He doesn't believe in love or affection as he thought that they are fleeting and interchangeable."

Ailard fell into silence. His finger traced on the paper cup, containing coffee in it.

"Say." Jacin began and Ailard jerked his head up. He looked puzzled. "Is there any other better option for skipping classes and spent your whole day in this club room?" He asked.

Ailard made an indignant noise. "Come on. You have more than enough space for me." He said.

Jacin fought the urge to throw his textbook toward Ailard right on his pretty face. "My club room is not for a flirtatious man like you."

"What did I do?" Ailard inquired.

Jacin sighed. "There." He pointed. "Look out the window."

Ailard followed his gaze to the wide window where a group of girls peeked through it and when their eyes clashed with each others, they were squealing in a loud way and fought with the other girls, arguing who he made eyes contact with.

"It's not my fault I'm a hot shot." Ailard grinned. "Besides, having me here is a blast for your club." He added.

"Yeah, yeah. Sure Ailard Lantsov." Jacin said and continued his researches for his upcoming deadlines for his assignments.

Before Ailard could reply, there was a loud knock on the door, and a moment later a figure slid inside the room, letting the squealing from the girls increased by seconds. Ailard looked over and there was a girl standing beside Jacin. She held a piece of paper in her hand.

"Hello." She said. "Is this where I can find Jacin Everard?"

Ailard leaned toward Jacin, "What a nice lady you got there, Mr. Everard."

Jacin rolled his eyes inwardly and shoved Ailard lightly. He stood up. "I'm Jacin Everard." Said Jacin, stepping forward.

"What do you want to know?"

"I'm Celeste Amaryllis." Said the girl and held out her piece of paper to Jacin. "I saw you were looking for an inspiring writer."

"Whoa." Said Ailard. "He put that flyer up like a year ago."

Jacin looked at Ailard sideways. "Yeah." Said Jacin. "We were doing some different stuff back then. Now we mostly finished our project with the drama production. Anyways, do you have experience?"

Celeste shrugged. "Not really, but I love writing." She had a slow and soft voice but rougher than a silk.

Jacin looked at Ailard uncertainly. He scratched behind his ear. "Can you give us a second?"

"Sure." Celeste walked out of the club, the door closed behind her. Ailard could hear the girls outside whispering among each other.

"What do you think?" Ailard asked as soon as Jacin plonk himself down on the couch beside him.

"I don’t know." Jacin said. "I'm not sure we can scout anyone new right now. That flyer was pretty old."

"Well then." Ailard shrugged. "Just tell her your club already full enough. You don't have any intention of scouting anyone now."

"It's not that easy."

"Why?" Ailard looked genuinely curious.

"She looks like she has her hope up for this."

"Then," Ailard raised his voice, "you should let her in."

Jacin stared at him. "Do you really think it's a good idea? I mean we already have enough writers here."

Ailard made another impatient noise. "Come on, Jacin. Just let her in plus she is super hot." He said and Jacin looked surprise.

Jacin had not been enormously struck by Celeste's looks, but perhaps that was because he was not a good judge of lady beauty unlike Ailard.

"And," Ailard began. "Your club needs some sex appeal."

"Well, Ailard Lantsov. Thank you." Said Jacin. "On behalf of us all, thank you very much."

"Oh, come on." Ailard patted Jacin's shoulder. "Yes, you're all fine looking. Especially you, but Celeste is hot like 'whoa.'

I'm just saying if you add her to your club, you will double your male fan base."

"Ailard." Jacin scoffed. "She is applying for a writer position not an actress."

Ailard winced. "But-"

"And I'm already have enough of your females fan base loitering around my club room." Jacin pointed a finger at the window.

The club door swung. "Uh, excuse me?" It was Celeste again. "Look, if you don't want me in your club. It's cool, but it will be much better if you just say the word, and I'm out."

Ailard who sat beside Jacin clicked his tongue. He looked completely delirious.

Jacin let out a sigh. "Alright, come on in."

Celeste stepped into the club room. Jacin took this opportunity to stare at her, trying to gauge what it was that had made Ailard say she was hot. She was tall for a girl and had a slim figure with a baby cheekbone. She has a longish black hair that seemed to change into slightly brown when the sun shone on it. Also, she had a see through bangs in which all girls studying there had the same style like her.

Also, her skin was fair and her long and curvy eyelashes over startling amber eyes made she look like a pretty doll. She wore a blue ruffled blouse shirt with a white skinny jean. Okay, Jacin had to admit. She was not that crazy pretty but she was an average type of pretty. That was all.

"You know," Ailard said finally, breaking the silence. "I'm Ailard Lantsov." He outstretched his hand, smiling at her.

Celeste took Ailard's hand, smiling politely at him. "I'm Celeste Amaryllis." She blinked and turned to Jacin. "So, am I in or not?"

"You're." Jacin said flatly, giving her a blank form. "Fill this up and you can go home."

Celeste took the blank form from him, smiling gratefully. "Thank you." Her eyes glinted.
