Caught in a lie

Dizziness washed over Luan as soon as he went inside his room. Now he lay on the lumpy mattress, the blankets were pulled up to his chest. He could feel his arm aching. He was not sure about the pain himself, so he rolled to the side and stared down at his right arm. Around his wrist was a band of paler skin, slightly reddened at the edges as if a scar left by a fiery bracelet.

Luan has been agonizing in pain for a week since he left the Queen's court. The pain worsens especially when he arrived at Aurellia's mansion, but now he came back to the Queen's court, the ache was dull as if it pushed down into his bones.

He rolled his body to the side and reached to touch the large squarish volume bound in mauve velvet. Luan opened the book and began to read.

'That book ought to tell you that love wasn't mean to cage in your heart.' William had said to him before.
