Chapter 52: GROCERY SHOPPING

Nothing!!! Absolutely nothing!!! She never listens to anything. You have to beg, yell, put your foot down, cajole her before you can get her to do anything. And by her, I mean Lucy.

“Get into the car Lucy, we're going grocery shopping.”

“Why do I have to go with you, why can't I stay back at home?”

“Aunty Natasha is going to be looking after your mum, and I don't want you to be in the way.”

“Why do you care?”

“Why wouldn't I care?”

Squinting her eyes, “Are you the reason momma caught a cold?”

“Kinda technically, it wasn't my-”

“I knew it! That's why you looked all worried and sad.” Without waiting for me to finish, she picked up bits from the sentence.

“Stop talking and get into the car.” The same car I've been sitting in for minutes now and begging her to get into.

“Do you even know how to shop?”

“Not really”

“You're helpless. I'll go with you, but what's in for me.”

“You're a child. Just eight! Who do you think you are.”
