'Oh, not together, but she is interested. Hm, I can't blame her. Cayden certainly is perfect.'
The female was still talking with her back to them and the Moon Goddess glanced to see blue eyes looking at her. They crinkled and he shook his head.
"I apologize about her," he whispered grinding the herb more, "She comes everyday to ask for my hand."
"Why don't you accept?" She questioned glancing over at the chattering female talking about how she had others wanting her time but she chose to spend it here with the doctor.
"Mm," Cayden sounded and didn't speak more.
She glanced at him and smiled.
If Cayden was not interested, it would make her feel much better marking him. Loyalty to her means no loyalty to others. If Cayden were to have a family, a lover, children even, she would not dare to mark him. Any of them.
"Do you need help?" She questioned and watched the grind up herbs get poured into a wooden container.
"Sure," Cayden smiled and added rosemary, thyme, and citrus leaf into the mortar.
She held the pistol and tried to mimic how Cayden did it earlier, but the leaves were not grinding like it should. Frowning, she had never done this before, but why were the herbs dusting and why were they moving!
"Like this," Cayden wrapped his hand around hers and press. Press and twist. Press and twist. Ah! Now she could see it! Grinning, she nodded happily as she continued doing what she was taught. Cayden left her to grab another wooden container and brought it to the table.
"-and he even asked me to marry him. Do you know what I told him? No, because I want you to be my-" Samantha turned around and paused.
Cayden was smiling, talking quietly to the female beside him. She was livid. The handsome doctor, shy and quiet, never looked at her like that! Stomping over, she huffed crossing her arms under her breasts.
"Cayden," she narrowed her eyes, "Were you ignoring me?"
"Uh," The doctor offered a smile, "Apologies, Miss Samantha."
"You can make it up to me by going on a date with me," she stated and glared at the other female.
"Right now?" Cayden furrowed his brows and she nodded, "I cannot leave now, Miss Samantha. I am a doctor and my clinic is open to all. If I leave, I would not be doing my duty."
"But-"
"No," the doctor stated sternly, "I will not leave my post, Miss Samantha. I apologize, but I am busy. You are free to come by tomorrow."
The Moon Goddess watched the man turn away to his herbs. Cayden walked over to where Samantha was earlier to looked at his hanging herbs. Picking from it quietly, he ignored the fuming female. Samantha growled and dipped her brows so low at her, Moon could barely see the female's eyes.
"This is your fault!" Samantha seethed and the wooden container filled with herbs was smacked to the floor. She stomped away and Moon frowned deeply. She looked at the hard work she did and the hard work Cayden did lying on the floor.
"Did she hurt you?" Cayden questioned squatting down with her to save what they could of the grinded herbs.
"No," she sighed before sending big purple eyes at him, "All your hard work. What a waste."
"Mm. It is alright," the doctor smiled and they stood up, "I am glad you are alright."
So, they cleaned up the mess, and grinded more herbs. She did most of it since people were coming in to get checked. She couldn't help smiling at how nice Cayden was!
Some came in screaming, others came in crying, but the doctor was patient with each of them. Those who came in to flirt, he would keep it professional. Those who came in to just to talk, he listened and understood.
Cayden was perfect.
The Moon Goddess did not have much time on her hands. She needed her werewolves, protectors for this land with undying love for her as soon as she could. She couldn't keep waiting! Time was of the essence.
When Cayden finally closed up the clinic and made them tea and dinner, she decided that Cayden would become her first alpha. She was sure he would agree to being marked and upholding the rule of the land. She was sure once she revealed herself, he would accept it right away without any hesitation.
"Cayden James," she walked around the table to cup his face.
"Uh…" His blue eyes blinked up at her with furrowed brows.
"I choose you."
"…"
"…"
"Uh… I am not… understanding what you are saying," the doctor blinked at her.
She laughed softly and pulled him upstairs with her hand wrapped around his. Making sure he was sitting, she closed the door and began pulling the shirt off. However, hands stopped her movement and she looked into sharp blue eyes.
"What are you doing?"
"I already told you."
"By what? Seducing me? You do not have to thank me this way. You've helped me enough," he stood up, but Moon pushed him back down.
Falling onto his back, he attempted to sit up, but she straddled him, leaning close so all they saw was the other's face. She slowly removed her face mask and revealed the rest of her face. She continued to see blue eyes wandered over her face before fingers touched her exposed cheek and neck.
"I see why you hide your beauty," Cayden whispered before shaking his head, "Please get off me, Miss Moon."
"Cayden James. You are who I choose to mark. You will be my protector of the land. Create balance in a world that lost it."
Cayden's eyes widened before they narrowed, really assessing the face before him. As he was staring, the markings of the Goddess slowly appeared on milky white skin. Long raven hair faded to white and he found his throat drying up. Was this really… Was the Moon Goddess really here with him?
'No! I am just freaking out,' Shaking his head, he pushed her off him and rubbed his head.
"Miss Moon, I will go rest. I must be stressing out. My apologies."
The Moon Goddess blinked and blinked at the closed door. Her left eye twitched as anger was boiling up inside her. She was so close dammit!
"Ugh!" She flopped back down and covered her face with her arm.
