You Believe In Me, Don't You?

With her brother's light guiding her, she tried to calm herself down. The small city, more of a town, of Baystall was… there was too much wrong there. She shouldn't feel fear when she was there, but her heart and the shivers along her skin told her how terrified she felt. When she finally slowed down her run, she looked around her to see she was… nowhere.

No buildings, no people, nothing but a desert.

"Oh no… What am I going to do?!" She felt panic etched into her and she looked around her again, hoping she was just not seeing this empty wasteland.

"Okay, okay. I just… calm down. The map… Yes! Check the map. Maybe I can figure out where I am."

Trembling fingers pulled out the rolled map at her side. She kneeled to the ground and laid the map down. Staring at it, she placed a finger on where Baystall was located.

"Okay… so… I ran this way," she moved her fingers along the paper, "Mm… so looks like it is just wasteland if I continue. Oookay! So then go backwards, DON'T go into Baystall, and continue west to… Oxharbor. Great!"

Rolling up her map, she tied it to her hip and turned. She hoped she was right that she would be able to make it back to civilization from here. Being out here all alone was scary and the comfort of her forest was no where near her. Minutes passed and she felt her lips frowning deeper and deeper.

Did she make a mistake?

While Moon tried to find her way out of the desert, a dark skinned man was a mile off the city of Baystall.

Torrence Waller was a strong believer of the Moon Goddess. Every morning and every night, he would pray to her with what little he could offer. He had a horse named Lula to accompany him in his exile from Baystall. Scars littered his dark skinned body for his disobedience to their leader, but he regret nothing.

One with no family, he spent most of his days riding Lula to the river. At least the water and the fishes had no trouble with them. It was a long trek, but it was worth the nice scenery and shades. He would always see Clete Jackson on a boat, fishing leisurely away. They've been good friends for a while now. It made him happy to know he had a friend.

'Must be nice to be rich and with no care.'

"Oi, Torrence! It's been a while. What have you been up to?" The Fisherman yawned out waving.

"Been around," he replied cupping the river water to drink.

"Mm," the green haired man leaned against his boat, "Did you meet a girl in a white dress?"

Torrence poured the water onto his skin and face. Water glistened over his bare chest and face, as he thought about what was asked. A female with a white dress?

"No. Why do you ask?"

"She was looking for Baystall. She said she had a goal to complete. You sure you haven't seen her?"

Clete sat up with furrowed brows and Torrence hummed to himself. He thought about the last few days and never once did he came across a female in a white dress. He wouldn't have forgotten an image like that. So, shaking his head, he watched as the rich man pulled his line back, put down his fishing pole, and rowed toward him.

"We should find her. She might be in trouble."

"What do you mean?"

"I told her a pretty girl like her shouldn't be traveling alone at night here, but she did it anyways," Clete frowned and got off the boat.

"She must be… important to you. You never leave your boat," Torrence watched the man with the wide rimmed hat tied his boat to a rock.

"Important?" Clete paused and stood up from pulling his boat on land. He thought about it and wondered… Was what Torrence said right? Was Moon important to him? He only just met her briefly, so there was no way she could be important to him so quickly.

"Hah, funny Torrence."

Torrence chuckled and wondered who this female was. Unfortunately, he never got to meet who she was. They entered Baystall with the leader glaring at him. There was a lot of screaming at him, but with Clete, the leader had to suffice and answered their questions. They were told the female with the white dress ran off after pretending to have money.

They tried searching on Lula for the female, but they couldn't find her. Whoever she was and wherever she was, Clete joined him at the shrine he built for the Moon Goddess. They prayed for the girl in the white dress, the female named Moon. They prayed for her health, her safety, and for the Moon Goddess to watch over her.

Speaking of the Moon Goddess, she was lying on her bear. How did she get back to the forest? She had passed out trying to get back to civilization. The moon was already out and she was so tired, all she could think about was returning to her forest. She could feel warmth around her and she knew it was her brother.

So lucky of her to have such a kind brother.

That was why she was currently lying against her bear. It would mean she was going to lose time, but she could not believe she still couldn't find her way back. Sighing, she felt the pat on her head and she looked up at her bear.

"Beary, you believe in me, don't you?"

Her brown bear made a noise of agreement.

"Wolfie, you believe in me, right?"

Her white wolf sat beside her and licked her hand.

"Bunnie, you believe in me too?"

The white bunny hopped to sit on her. Sighing, she touched each of her animals. The voices of Clete and another man entered her ears, making her skin tingle. Grinning, she felt even more determined to find her chosen. Yes, she didn't have long, but she was sure she could make it before the full moon.

The next day, she rode her wolf as far as she possibly could go. Thanking her creature, she left the forest and embarked to the city of Oxharbor. When she arrived at Baystall again, she avoided the city. It took her half a days time from Baystall to get to the next city. She had picked up her speed, walking fast to save time. Her feet was hurting, but she couldn't let that stopped her. Night came and she continued on her way, too determined to stop.

Too much at stake to slow down.
