Charles Anthony

She made sure to not get too close to Baystall, by going around the city from climbing the mountains. There, her other wolves were happy to assist her. Cold as it was, she felt almost like home on the moon. She enjoyed the cold and was enjoying her times with her dear friends, but she must focus on her mission.

By the second day of her travel, she came to the edge of Oxharbor. Unlike Baystall city where the desert located, Oxharbor was right next to the ocean. The city was wide, but population was smaller than the city of Flathand and Springcall. The people there wore clothes like those in Winterhallow and Wolftown, which put her heart at ease.

Smiling and bowing to the people in greeting, she continue into the city to see who she could fine. She was too focused on finding someone who met her requirements instead of the city, just like the others. She would find time to explore once she was able to find a chosen alpha to mark.

Sitting at a bench, she watched people come and go from one store to the other. She saw many potentials, but none that stood out enough to her. Not the right build. Not the right attitude. Not the right presence. Each men she discounted and her hope in finding someone in Oxharbor.

'Oi! Get up. Be more active. Let's check the shops.'

Pumping herself up, she walked by stores and looked at the windows to see nicely decorated dresses, candies, and boxes of jewelry. Oxharbor seemed like a rich place from what the Moon Goddess assumed. The other towns, besides Springcall, did not have shops behind windows or nicely decorated stones and gardens.

She entered each shop and smiled at the people inside. It was refreshing to find people so nice, especially after her scare from those in Baystall. She walked around and thought maybe she found someone with the qualifications, but unfortunately, it didn't work out. Leaving one shop, three shops, ten shops, she was getting tired.

Entering another one, this shop was quiet. There weren't many people, just rows of rows of books aligned the walls and shelves. She walked by each one, glancing at the words along the spine. She pulled out one that said, 'Summer High Five' and flipped through the pages. Going to another shelf, she picked out another book and skimmed through it.

She continued to do so, and found books with pictures, some colors and some not. There were even books that were huge and some that were very heavy. Refocusing herself, she looked around to not see anyone who may become her alpha. Sighing, she dropped her shoulders and stared up at the nice lighting hanging from the ceiling.

"Hello Miss," a voice called out, "Is there anything I can help you with?"

A man with brown hair and grey eyes smiled at her. She smiled back and bowed to him.

"I am not sure, to be honest," the Moon Goddess looked around, "Do you work here?"

"Yes," the man nodded, "I enjoy gaining knowledge. One can never get enough."

"I see," she laughed softly, "I am glad you have a goal."

He smiled at her and there was a slight pause before he spoke up.

"My name is Charles Anthony. A pleasure to meet you."

"Moon."

"Moon? What a unique name," Charles face brightened and quickly left to another section of the library. She followed, confused as to why the man ran off. Charles was up on the ladder and pulled out a deep navy colored book. Climbing back down, she saw the book had moons and stars on the cover.

"This is a name book," Charles smiled, "Let's see what your name means. Oh! I… I mean if you have time, of course."

"I do," she smiled amusedly at him.

He grinned and she followed him to a seat against the white walls. The librarian opened the novel and flipped to the letter M. Fingers moving down the list of names, he smiled when she saw what he was looking for.

"Moon," He pointed out and looked at her, "It means you were named after the Moon Goddess."

"Interesting," she grinned, "What else does it say?"

"Well," his grey eyes read the passage and summarized it to the female in white, "Moon represents renewal, emotions, and sometimes darkness. One who is named after the Moon Goddess would be fated to be the touched by her to use as she pleases."

Moon wondered if there were anyone named Moon. She certainly hoped not. This definition already made her feel weird that someone would write that.

"What about yours? What does your name mean?" She questioned and waited for him to find it.

"Charles is a common name."

"…"

"That is all it says…"

"Oh."

"Anyways," the man closed the book and smiled at her, "Thank you for entertaining me. It gets boring when no one wants to learn or read."

"Ah, sorry you feel that way."

He laughed shaking his head, happy to have meet someone who wasn't judging him for being a bookworm.

"It is not your fault, Miss Moon. I just enjoy reading and learning. If you think about it, there is still so much we still don't know. We have so little knowledge of the world beyond ours, of the Moon Goddess and the Sun God. Think of all the things we could learn."

Charles was speaking with such passion, the Moon Goddess felt the aura seeped into her. That passion was beautiful to see and she wondered if… maybe… just maybe Charles Anthony could be the one she could mark. She was so tired of looking, that one would do for now so she could rest.

"What do you know of the Moon Goddess? Are you a believer?" She questioned.

"Mm, to be honest, I am a man of science," Charles explained turning his entire body to face her, "I need facts, evidence, proof in order to believe things. Take for example medicine. You feel sick. You take these herbs. You get better or worse and that is collected into data. When it comes to our Sun God and Moon Goddess, all we have are stories and fairytales."

Charles went to grab a book to bring to her. She took the item and realized it was the children's book that Rei Solis had read in the cabin. She read through it and word by word, it was the same.

"I have read this before," she smiled at him, "Is there another of the Sun God or the Moon Goddess?"
