"Happy birthday!" The crowd cheered and the green haired female grinned.
"As always, we will have a town celebration. Prepare her favorites and whoever she picks as the best will get 50 coins!" The man laughed and the crowd became livelier.
The Moon Goddess watched the family entered the building and knew at once that was the leader's home. Humming to herself, she looked at the crowd that was speaking to one another about what they should prepare and do. Soon, the crowd to dispersed and she was one of the few who did not move.
"How can I find an alpha if people are too busy to speak with," she frowned and sighed, leaning back to look at the sun.
The only sound left was the running fountain and a couple children playing with rocks. Well, maybe she could ask those children. Standing up, she walked toward them, but they were called to return to their parent's sides.
Ah… too late for Moon to learn more about Rosemount.
'Maybe I could speak with the leader?' She wondered and stared at the white established building. There were no guards which surprised her. Was it so safe here that guards were unneeded? That made her happy and worried. Happy to know the people feel safe, but worried that something could happen and Rosemount would be unprepared.
"Hm? Miss Moon? Is that you?"
She turned her purple eyes to the man with the wide rimmed hat and pink eyes. He walked toward her with a grin and a fishing pole.
"Sir Clete," she smiled, "It is nice to see you again. Fishing?"
"Yeah, wanna join me again?"
"Mm, I cannot. I am searching for someone."
"Oh? Who?" Clete questioned leaning against his fishing rod, "I can tell you where they are."
"Someone who is devoted to the Moon Goddess."
"…"
"Sir… Clete?"
"Well…" the fisherman offered an apologetic smile, "Truth is, no one here believes in her."
Her shoulders dropped and she sighed hanging her head. Well… She supposed Rosemount was out of the picture. At least she found out right away so her time wasn't wasted.
"Thank you, Sir Clete. I should head to Northham then," she bowed and smiled at him.
"To Northham? Eh, that's a terrible place," Clete frowned, "Didn't you just got here?"
"How did you know?" Moon questioned and the green haired man cleared his throat.
She didn't need to know that answer, right? Clete grinned and grabbed her wrist gently.
"Accompany me, Miss Moon. It gets too lonely without you," he pouted and Moon sighed out a smile.
Well… there wasn't anything she could do with people busy preparing for a birthday party. She would ask Clete the best way to get to Northham then. So, walking out of Rosemount with the green haired man, she stared at the light hold on her wrist.
They came to the river once again and the fisherman smiled. He helped her into the boat and she sat down. Rowing into the middle of the river, she watched the man hold his fishing pole and glanced at her.
"Want to try fishing again? Last time you tried, it was terrible," he laughed.
"Ah! Wha… Sir Clete!"
Moon pouted and moved toward the green haired man. Taking the fishing pole, she huffed and moved to poke the worm through the hook like she remembered. Standing up determined to prove she could catch a fish, she tossed the fishing line. It rose into the air and plopped into the water so close to the boat, Moon found her cheeks warming with embarrassment.
Winding the line back up, she tried again and again… and again.
'Ah! Come on. What am I doing wrong?' She frowned and glanced over to see Clete was watching her with a smile.
She tried again and and although it was further away, it still wasn't enough. Standing and trying to throw the line a few more times, she shut her eyes with a deep pout. Arms wrapped around her like before and she heard the chuckle against her ear.
"You are too tense, Moon," Clete wrapped his hand around hers, "Take a deep breath and when you exhale, you toss it."
Nodding, she followed his movement and instruction. Taking a deep breath, she exhaled and threw the line out into the river. Her lips grinned and she relaxed her shoulders, happy that she was able to toss the line out far enough. Yes, Clete still had to help, but she did it!
"Now, time to sit and relax," the man sighed out a smile, bringing her to sit before him.
The Moon Goddess was looking into the water to see if there were fishes swimming by. Arms still wrapped around her, she felt him nuzzling against the nape of her neck. He reminded her of a cat, like Mr. Orange in Dragonport city.
"Moon, you smell good," Clete whispered and closed his eyes.
"Thank you," she smiled, "Are you going to fall asleep again?"
Clete chuckled and snuggled closer to the female. He liked her. He was glad she was still alive. When he went with Torrence to find her, he was worried something terrible happened to her. So, seeing she was fine as the day he first met her, it eased the trouble in his heart.
'Clete… You definitely shouldn't hold her like this… but she just feels so good!' The fisherman nuzzled again.
'Hair so soft and skin so soft. Ah~ Moon, you must not be from this world. Too perfect.'
The Moon Goddess found herself smiling. Sir Clete was a kind man, prayed to the Moon Goddess, and live freely. She wished he didn't have any ties to anyone. He would had been perfect to become one of her alphas. She sighed and leaned back.
"Sir Clete," she spoke softly, "Do you believe in the Moon Goddess?"
"Mm," he sounded.
"Are you devoted to her?"
"…"
"Sir Clete?"
"…"
She furrowed her brows, but she heard the light snores against her ear. She let out a laugh and shook her head. She wondered what it was that made him so tired all the time? The rocking of the boat was lulling and she could understand how someone would like to fall asleep. Clete's hands were still on hers and she stared at it waiting for a fish to bite.
'His hands are not rough like a fisherman's should or has things changed for them?'
