The Water God

Lucky for her, the guy from Northham had dropped her not to far from Rosemount.

Saying goodbye to her wolf, she headed into the flashy rose-filled city. She remembered Clete telling her there was no one in Rosemount who believed in her, but she should try at least. Maybe someone was devoted enough for her that they were hiding. She really hoped that was the case.

Once they reached as far as they could, Moon kissed her wolf on his head and left to the city of Rosemount again.

She saw crowds of people going surrounding that one building she saw earlier. The family had gone into before when she was in Rosemount. She walked toward it, looking around to see why everyone was looking in the same place.

'Was there an event?'

She tiptoed to see if she could look over, but she saw nothing but the back of heads. Why wasn't she gifted with good height like her brother? Looking around her, there was a man who was staring at her. She blinked her purple eyes, watching the man closely.

'Maybe… Maybe he is a believer?' She wondered and headed to the man in the corner, 'He also looks familiar. Maybe I met him in my past?'

"Hello sir."

"Miss."

"Is there something going on there?" She pointed to the crowd and the man laughed.

"Just the leader's daughter getting married," he shrugged and stared at her face for a moment, "What are you doing here and how do you not know? Everyone knows of the marriage."

"I am new here," Moon smiled from behind her mouth covering, "Is everyone there?"

The man stared at her and she saw a slow grin spreading across his face. It made the hair on her skin stick up on alert. She stepped back, but he quickly grabbed her. Moon tried to slow him down with screams and kicks, but the man ignored it all. She was tossed onto his shoulders without a care and she called out to anyone for help.

However, the music and cheers drowned out her yells.

"You know," The man threw her on the stoned ground uncaring, "You truly do not remember me? Hah! How perfect is this," his teeth sharpened, "Good."

Her dress was being pulled and she tried fighting back with punches, slaps, kicks, anything. The man was laughing hysterically as his black eyes curved. She could hear the rip of her dress and with all her might, she scratched his face. The man paused and touched the blood dripping off his cheek.

He started laughing again and again, causing Moon to feel fear crawling up her skin. Quickly throwing the man off her, he moved with ease and watched her with his cryptic black eyes. She wanted to know who this man was and why was he doing this! Who did he think he was!

"Sleep certainly made you lose your memories, my dear Goddess."

Her eyes widened and she touched her face to still feel her mask in place. Her behavior only made the man laughed harder. Who was this man and how... How could he know who she was?

A strange feeling and old locked memories were surfacing in her confused state. Moon wasn't going to deal with him any longer. While he was still sitting, she stood up and ran. He was calling out to her, but she refused to listen.

Finding an opening through the crowd, she ran pushing her way through. She could hear the crowd upset, but she couldn't stop. She knew she had to get away from that man. There was a feeling in her that told her to leave, leave immediately.

She pushed the door opened and saw the wedding of Sir Bruin and Miss Rebecca. She wanted to say she was sorry to interrupt, sorry she didn't give her blessings, but his voice was coming closer. She took off to the closest door to her and continued running.

What was it about Rosemount that she could never stay! She barely got to see anyone or find her next alpha! The moon was clear in the sky and she was doused in the coming moonlight. The Moon Goddess continued to run hoping to return to her woodland creatures. She couldn't have them leave the forest to protect her. They had to stay.

The people of Nevrisea were not ready for that.

Slowing down as she reached the river, Moon placed her hand on the tree. Panting, she wanted to just slide down and rest, but the thought of that man coming after her…

'Something about him… What is it? Who was he?' She tried to wrack her brain on why this man made her entire skin want to be ripped out.

The man mentioned her sleep and who she was. How did he know of that? She didn't tell anyone about it, as far as she could remember. The books Rei Solis and Cayden James had on her did not say she went to sleep, right? Either way, she did not tell him who she was!

'I must have known him in the past,' Moon thought to herself, 'But why can I not remember from where? There must be something about him… the past… the past… Ugh! Come on! Who is he?'

Wait… He said the past which meant centuries. Was that man also a God? The only Gods she knew was her brother, herself, and…

'Is he… No… It couldn't be!'

The Sun God and the Moon Goddess are known as one. When one mentioned the Sun God, the Moon Goddess's name would appear. However, there was another God that no one spoke of. Why? Their brother was the God of Water. She loved her brothers equally but Moon was closer with the brother who wield water.

They did much together and at night, she would join this brother and watched as the man played with the waves. She loved watching the water sparkle by her moonlight.

However, the Water God was reckless. He played with their people, killed many just because they did not do as he asked. She cried for him when he was stripped of his powers and thrown below. She mourned for the loss of the Water God, her brother.

'Could… that man be him?' She wondered as her heartbeat slowed.

'Brother?'

She stood up taller and stared at the lake shining under the full moon below. If it was really him… What was she going to do? She truly missed him but why did he acted that way to her? It didn't make sense. The Water God loved her and would not want to harm her. When Moon fell into the water one time, the Water God used his waves to bring her up, as if surfing the water.

It couldn't be him.

Moon would ask her dear brother, the Sun God. He would know who that man was.

"Moon."

Her eyes widened and she turned to see-
