"Father! That isn't how it should be! Let us help them then they will grow to love you like… like me," Rei's eyes watered and he looked away upset.

"Exactly," His father spoke clearly, "I must treat them as I treated you in order to earn their loyalty."

"So… nothing I will say would change your mind?" Rei questioned softly and he heard the loud sigh.

"You are still young and naïve of the world, son. You will come to understand my decisions are right."

"…" Rei took a moment to think, "Can you tell me the history there? One of the elders told me it is like that because they refused to leave with nothing provided, or a way to return to their home."

"That was what you were told?" His father leaned back and pulled one of the desk drawers. Grabbing a black notebook, he placed it on the table and pushed it to him. Rei picked it up and glanced at his father.
