First job

After accepting the quest to hunt down a pack of wolfs Shirou quickly left the guildhall. Once he had left the guild hall he used reinforcement magic to strengthen his legs before jumping towards the roof of the closest building. An uncomfortable look emerged on Shirous face. 'I am still not used to using this worlds magic system' he thought. Though Shirou did practice this worlds magic system during his 10 day journey from the forest to Magnolia. But most of that of that time was used to figure out how to channel mana throughout his whole body. So even though he new how to do it he felt uncomfortable as he was not used to it.

He jumped from one rooftop from to another while trying to get used to the feeling of using magic. Shirou regretted the fact that he didn't ask for help on how to use mana or magic power as they call it here.

Soon he was at the end of Magnolia as he jumped down from the last building. Landing on the ground. Thinking he still needed some practice. Leaving Magnolia he headed for his destination Hana Village.

On his way to Hana Village he continued his practice using reinforcement magic by jumping from one tree to another. Making sure to not use too much magical power, a trait he had developed in his past world as to not strain his low quality magic circuits. But he was glad about one thing. In this world though mages were rare much like his past world, the mages here had an advantage over magus's from his past world. That advantage was that the mages in Fiore didn't have to worry about how to further develop one magical prowess as they did not possess the limiter known as magic circuits. Something that decided the future success of a magus.

On earth If a magus possessed high number of magic circuits and the quality of those magic circuit ranged from medium to high that magus was guaranteed success as long as they worked for it. To a magus the quality of a magic circuit was as important as the amount as it decides how much mana it could output at any given time. Shirou on the other hand possessed 27 magic circuits which can be considered to be on the high side. But the quality of these magic circuits were abysmally low, so low that just straining them could result in him being unable to use magecraft or magic for months.

This highly limited his prowess as a magus as his magic or rather the only magecraft he was capable of using The Unlimited Blade Works could only show its potential when projecting high end noble phantasms. Something that he was unable to do because the limitations his magic circuits imposed on him and even if he somehow managed to project a high end noble phantasm such as exclalibur the consequence of doing so would be immense. As if he really did that his low quality magic circuits will face irreparable damage. Resulting in him being unable to use magecraft for the rest of his life.

But now he no longer has to worry about that as no matter how much magical power he uses at once he will not face any major consequences and this fact put a smile on Shirous face.

Sometime later he reached Hana Village.

When Shirou first picked the job he momentarily wondered how this village was able to issue such high rewards. But the view in front of him answered his questions. The village was filled with batches of flowers everywhere giving it a look of liveliness.

"No wonder the village was able to issue such high rewards. This place must attract a lot of tourist"

Shirou entered the Hana village and enjoyed the view as he searched for the village chiefs residence. After asking shop and stall owners here in there he was able to find the village chiefs residence.

Shirou walked up the door and knocked few times. From the other side of the door sounds of foot steps were heard. Shortly after the door was opened by a man who seemed to be in his forties with a fit body.

The man looked at Shirou and with a relieved expression and said "Are you a wizard?" "Yes. I am Shirou from Fairy Tail" Shirou replied. "Good that you're here. Come in let's talk inside". Just as Shirou was going to get inside two little kids came running to the door shouting "Dad is the wizard here?" "What guild is the wizard from?". Once they reached the door they looked at Shirou and asked excitedly "brother are you a wizard?" "What guild are you from" "can you show us your magic". Shirou looked at kids as they continued to ask him a barrage of different questions. He let them finish fist before answering their questions. "Yes I am a wizard from Fairy tail as per my magic let's I will show it to you guys after I've finished speaking to your father". Just then a voice of a woman was heard "kids go to your room don't bother your dad and his guest" "But we want to see his magic" the children said with a dissatisfaction faces. But they complied to their mothers order nonetheless.

The man looked at his kids with a smile and gestured Shirou to come in. The house was not fancy but it was clean and comfy. Leading Shirou to the living room the man prompted him to sit down.

The man spoke first "hello there sir?" "Shirou, Shirou Emiya".

"Ah yes Shirou. The name's Woodhearth". "Sir Woodhearth can I ask where the wolfs were first spotted and if they have attacked the village before?"

"The wolfs we're first spotted near the river that flows north of our town about 2 weeks ago. The kids that live in this village were the first ones to see it while going to play in the river. Luckily at that time the wolfs had already fought their prey and was feasting on it. As for your other question the answer is a no. But even then when night comes we can hear their howls in the woods"

"Then I will wait till night comes and see what happens. Is that all right with you?" Shirou asked.

"That isn't a problem you can stay in our guest room for the night"

At this moment a woman came in the room with hot tea and some dessert. "Sorry for the intrusion but here is a special of our village lavender tea and rosemary cake" the woman said "No, thank you for your hospitality miss".

After eating his dessert and talking with the couple for a while Shirou thanked them and got to checking the parameters of the village.

Shirou looked out the out skirts of the town. When he finished searching the parameters he went to the river to see if the wolfs had left any markings of where they might be. Hopping from one tree to another he ran through the forest. It didn't take long for him to reach the river and all that was left there was the white boness of an animal that resembled a deer. Regrettably there were no other signs left except from the vague footprints that were near the the bones.

Shirou decided go back to the village and see how things play out tonight.

He reached the village and stayed in the guest room Woodhearth family had opened up for him till night came.
