The day had ended and the night took over, slowly but surely painting the blue sky into field of black glittered with starts. The moon shined brightly in skies illuminating the dark world with it's dim light. At the dead of night all that could be heard was the chirping of crickets.
Shirou stood atop a windmill that overlooked the whole of Hana village, waiting for the creatures of the night to become active. He waited patiently observing the forest for any sort of movement.
During the early hours of the night he spotted what he was looking for a small pack of wolf, 5 in total.
The wolf who had the largest frame among the 5 tilted his head to the side signaling 2 of its subordinates to go to the right and for the rest to follow him to the left side of the village. They circled around the village hiding within the shadows of trees and fences further enhancing their stealth with shadow magic, a racial ability its kind was born with. Once they were done surveying the village they left discreetly among the shadows not realizing that they were being monitored the whole time.
Shirou stepped down from the windmill and tailed after the pack of wolfs that were sent out to scout the village. He was able to track down his target through the use of clairvoyance, achieved by applying reinforcement to his eyes, following them from a distance of 3 km. Distance long enough for him to escape their effective range of smell but short enough for his clairvoyance to work.
Tracking the wolfs were not hard for Shirou as the wolfs went in a straight line till they reached their den.
When tailing them Shirou also looked out for a vantage point that was just tall enough for him to get a clear view of the Den. Luckily he was able to find one though he had go around the den as it was on the opposite side from him. Once he was at the vantage point he did a quick head count. A total of 30 including the pack leader. The distance between him and the then was approximately 1.8km.
He projected his bow and calodbulg. Drawing his bow he pondered over to release it or not. But this hesitation did not last for long. He located the pack leader and aimed his bow slowly loosening his grip over the string. In a moments notice the arrow reached its destination and as soon as it came in contact with the target a large explosion was heard disturbing the sound of silence.
The wolfs were startled by the sudden sound of explosion and starred worriedly at the massive explosion. Some wolfs that were caught up in the explosion were sent flying but no wolf except the pack leader died from it.
During this time Shirou didn't stand idle. He drew his bow and aimed at the wolfs at the outskirts of the den taking them out with a single shot. He was able to take down 15 wolfs before the explosion died out. The surviving members of the pack were able to organize themselves. They formed a circle with the pups inside protected by their parents but all of this was for nought.
Shirou Emiya wanted to end this quickly so he projected another caladbulg and packet it with magical power turning its shape from a spiral sword in to an arrow. He once again drew his bow and released the string. The explosion was heard and the remaining wolfs were all taken out.
Since he finished his job and was in no hurry to leave he walked toward Hana village. After about an hour of walking he reached the village gates.
Most if not all of the villagers were awoken by the large explosion that happened in the forest and was looking worriedly at it but the children were awed by the sight.
Their hearts calmed down once they saw the silhouette of a man walking out of the forest.
Seeing as how the you wizard was safe and sound the village chief Woodhearth was relieved but amazed at the same time. To think that a boy that is not even half his age could cause such destruction.
Shirou approached the village chief to talk about the request but the village chief Woodhearth told him to rest for till the afternoon and they will talk about it.
Shirou complied as he had been wanting to sleep on a real bed for quiet sometime now. So he walked to the village chiefs residence and entered the guest room they had opened up for him resting soundly until afternoon.
