Huddle Up

Lucas was exhausted. The energy it had cost him to cast the numbing spell had drained him. Had he not cast the spell, he could have cast another spell to break the chains. But even then he wouldn't be able to escape with Xavier there with him. 

"You promise?"

Xavier nodded solemnly, his eyes dark. 

What if Madeline found out?

[Author's Note: I would also like to clarify that yes, Cornelia is capable of reviving and or saving Indiana from the dead, but Cornelia can't possibly interfere because her job involves her knowing everything and protecting Alaric. So she couldn't possibly do such a thing, not unless she'd want to lose her job and be rendered unable to watch over the people she cared about. Right, now moving on to the story…]

"You have my word," Xavier said, his eyes glimmering. He felt his eyes turn blood red again, his wolf still trying to fight its way out.
