Big Goals

Eve was a little distressed over this issue. After thinking for a minute, she raised the eye in her hand and said: "Store Eyeball!" But nothing happened. "Aiu!"

Hearing Eve's whiny voice, something she had not heard in a while, made Aiu chuckle. "Don't ask me! Only you would know the names of the parts unless you had me be the one ordering it."

"Why do you always have to be like this!" Eve still whined. She knew Aiu was right, but she still wanted to complain. She looked at the eye and scanned it a few times with her sensors when suddenly a bunch of information popped up on it.

"I see…." Eve held the eye up and said: "Store Cytech Fifth Gen..." The eye between her metal fingers glowed a white light before shooting out from her fingers, shrinking and slamming into the holographic image of her inventory. As it did, it disappeared and reappeared in the list of items.

"So you have the ability to detect what an item is and does… This will be helpful" Aiu can see what Eve sees, so seeing the information display was a nice surprise. She figured the additional functionality came with the shop.

"Yes, it is, but now I feel like an idiot for yelling out something embarrassing. Anyway, that is at least one thing solved." Eve went through her metal basket and stored the rest of her items into her inventory. The rest of the eyes were made by the same company and were first or second generation and were ten times worse than the first eye she scanned. Two were even marked as unusable. The mini hydraulics were in good use and made by the New Dawn LLC. There was no other information besides their efficiency, which was quite low.

"Now that we have that settled, let's try to figure out where we are." Eve stood up and fixed her armor suit. The day was still in full bloom, so she would have to be careful as she roamed around. But she did not plan to sit around idly.

She made her way out of the hidden alley and stopped at the entrance to look around, making sure it was safe before making her way quickly across the street to a building that was still semi-intact. Her plan now was to get a better view of her surroundings. Only then would she be able to get an idea of where she was.

Eve had no idea what kind of city this X-Cyber city was, but she hoped it was not too hostile towards robots. Right now, she had two missions, one to create a base to operate out of and to enter the city. Whether she would base her operations out of the city or not depended on whether or not the city was safe for her to move around in as an A.I. This much she knew for the time being. She actually wanted to set up a small lab and begin work on customizing herself.

Now that she was an A.I., Eve had many plans. She wanted to not only give her body a more human appearance but also install concealed weapons systems into her body. She wanted to be prepared for anything. As much as she could understand from the men at the reclamation facility's conversation, this world was at war between two sides. A.I. and humans. And that meant bad news for her. She wanted to use the shop as much as possible to buy better and more advanced parts for her body as well. She had noticed some of the parts cost billions of shop points but were also so advanced she could not make heads or tails of how they were made. This really piqued her interest, and she wanted to buy them all! Just imagining what she could do with such high-tech parts made her drool, although she was actually unable to drool at this time.

She wondered just how advanced she could make herself. Like would she be able to make herself so human that she would be able to eat and taste food, smell things, touch things, become something that was impossible to detect the difference between human and A.I. These ideas were all things she had floating around her head. And she knew that as long as she did not get blown up, she would have plenty of time to tinker with things until she finally created her ultimate masterpiece. This was her new goal. But in order to reach this goal, she needed to complete the missions she was given to earn shop points.

"Eve, why do I have a feeling you are making an obscene face in your mind thinking of those expensive parts in the shop?" Aiu asked, causing Eve to almost trip.

"How did you know!?" Eve blurted out. She wondered if Aiu was actually able to read her thoughts!

"Just a feeling. I could picture your face as you find a goal and start thinking about the results, which ends up with you drooling all over yourself." Aiu replied.

Eve pursed her imaginary lips as she stood in the main hall of the building. "I can have my dreams, right!?"

"That you can, so work hard!" Aiu replied.

The building that Eve entered looked to be an office building. This actually made Eve happy because she hoped there would be something in here that would tell her the current year she was in. There was still so much she did not know about her current situation or if she was even on the same world as her original. Offices usually had some kind of newspapers lying around or at least some documents that could tell her a rough date before things went to hell for this world, or at least she hoped. "I am gonna search the place a bit. Maybe we can learn something."

"That might be best before we try to find the city the mission wants us to go to. Luckily there are plenty of places we can search."
