Taking Out Some Trash Part 1

Hearing Eve's question made Lilly frown as she asked: "If that actually happened would you try to harm me or try to protect me?"

"Hmmm… As long as you are my friend, I will try to protect you. However, that is if I am able to. But I would never try to harm you myself unless you betrayed me." Eve replied.

"Then the answer is simple. I will entrust my life to you." Lilly replied without any hesitation. "You see, I do not get along well with others. My idol to this day is still Evelynn Noe. My dream is to create an A.I. that is just as human as I am… But I am still lacking a little. Although Tezz, my partner in crime, is my life's work so far. She is very cute. But I feel she is still far from being perfect."

Eve smiled inwardly as she shook her head. "Any being with the ability to think on their own is already a sentient being. But I can understand that feeling of wanting to give your everything for what you love."

Lilly looked up at Eve, who was not even looking at her but looting away, and smiled. She wondered just how it was possible to make an A.I. like Eve become so human that she has so many emotions. If it was not for the fact that Eve's body was fully robotic, she would think that Eve was actually a cyborg. "That is true, yet I wish I would make an A.I. as human as you."

Eve paused her actions for a split second before continuing her looting. She wondered just how much of a reaction Lilly would give if she told her that she was actually the person she idolized. Eve chuckled silently to herself, just picturing it.

The two continued their looting spree down the hall, where the strange plant seemed to have taken over the entire section of the lab. The walls looked as if they were breathing with how they sank in and out every so often. Eve kept a close eye on the air quality and even scanned the plant itself, but there did not seem to be any dangers for Lilly. But even if it was giving safe readings, she still made sure to keep Lilly a few steps away from her at all times.

While the two were roaming the first floor. A truck looking as if it came out of a mad max movie pulled up. It stopped right in front of the loader, and both doors opened. Two men climbed out wearing tattered leather jackets and torn jeans. Their faces were smudged with dirt, and they looked as if they had not bathed in weeks. Both men had shaved heads and scars all over them. One was skinny, and the other had large muscles. The two seemed like opposite ends of the human anatomy when they stood next to each other. "Dean! I smell a woman!"

"Haha! Dog, I knew I could count on your nose." Dean smiled, showing a row of yellow teeth. He even had a few missing.

"I told you, you can count on me! I had the old doc enhance my sense of smell so I could smell a bitch a few kilometers away." Dog replied while pointing to his nose.

"It's a good thing you did, or I would have fed you to the beasts long ago. Come on. I need to go say hi to my new wife." Dean reached in the truck and pulled out what looked to be a homemade gun of some kind. It resembled a rifle, but the parts were much different from the weapons Eve has.

Dog let out a laugh as he also pulled out a weapon resembling Dean's but made with different parts. "Hey, Dean, if there is an extra, can I?"

"Haha! Sure, but make sure you don't kill her. The boys back at the base will want to pass her around a bit as well." Dean replied as if he was kind to his subordinates.

"Don't worry, as long as she is not as weak as that last girl. It should be fine." Dog licked his lips as he replied. The two then walked up to the loader, where Dog opened the door and took a big whiff. "Yep, seems to be a virgin too. Today is your lucky day, Dean! Sadly I only smell one. But I also smell a hint of something else. I am not sure what it is, though."

"Alright then, just keep your eyes peeled. I heard this bio lab was sealed up tight, so there is no telling what kind of shit is inside." Dean said as he pointed to his mask. Dog nodded and put his mask on as well. The two then entered the building.

Eve who was keeping her "ears" and eye out for anything strange, stopped in her tracks, pulled Lilly close to her, and whispered: "We got company. Two males. One named Dog, the other named Dean. We can not let them see you."

Lilly's face paled as she nodded her head. The one thing she truly feared while being outside the city was raiders. She subconsciously clung on to Eve's arm as she stared down the hall nervously.

Back up on the first floor, Dean and Dog followed the cable to the elevator shaft and looked down. "Sure is dark down there. I smell death."

"Hmmm? Did that girl fall to her death?" Dean asked with furrowed brows. "Let's go check if her body is in one piece. If it's warm, we can both go a round."

"Nah, I think she is alive. This death smells stale. The scent from the loader was fresh, so she was sitting inside it not long ago. My guess is someone else came here before and fell to their death. I won't be sure until we climb down." Dog explained.

"Mmm, good, as long as she is not dead, we are fine." Dean's lips curled up. He slapped Dog on the back and said: "Hurry up, you go down first."

"Ah! Right!" Dog quickly did as he was told. He only knew how to live being a dog. Otherwise he would have been made to fight in the underground arena. And those bioengineered monsters were not something he wished to fight against.
