"Em, wait a second. This is too sudden. Firstly, how do you know my real name? And for something so important, you have yet to introduce yourself."
"Yes, how rude of me. Name is Luo Yun Ni and I am the vice chairman of the Rouge ghost enforcement group. Our ghost enforcement group wishes to increase our numbers by one. I know your name because I can look into your thoughts."
Using the skills that were drilled into him in his previous life such as acing an interview. Wang Ming asked a great question. "This position, is it a newly opened one?"
Yun Ni creased her eyebrows before speaking, "Yes it is a newly opened position, would you like to know about our group's culture too, or maybe even the necessary skills required, benefits, compensation… Please, don't talk like this."
Before Wang Ming could say anything, she spoke again.
"The peace in this city is only on the surface level. Whenever someone dies, their soul would leave their body. Usually they will start reincarnation after forty nine days after bidding farewell to their family and kin. However, there are some ghosts who refuse to go on their merry way due to extreme emotions before death, like drowning victims or having uncanny deaths in general. Rare exceptions like you are also not uncommon, who retain consciousness after turning into a ghost. But most also end up reincarnating."
Listening to the large information dump, Wang Ming could almost see his brain have a loading animation. "Alright, so people who possess someone are not rare, but how are there no studies regarding this? Will people like me be in danger of getting captured and turned into a labrat in the future?"
Hearing Wang Ming's funny question, Yun Ni replied, "Listen up, although science has almost reached the apex of the physical realm of humans to enhance their bodies with mechanical parts or rebuild an entire body from pieces of flesh, there are things that no amount of equipment can detect. Things such the soul, ghost, gods and devils are made of energy. If they possess someone, scientists can't find anything abnormal and would just dismiss them as mental disorders."
"Since this is an invitation, I will give you some advice from the bottom of my heart. The 'job scope' for this position is very demanding and the work we do can be summed up with two words, charity work. There is also the off chance that you might also lose your life. So think carefully. I will not force you to join and after you leave this place, you can still enjoy your life and pretend that nothing happened."
Hearing the heart warming advice from Yun Ni , Wang Ming knew that it was the logical thing to just leave and live his life. However, perhaps it was his final obsession influencing him as a ghost or just the raging hormones of an eighteen year old, he was inclined to say yes.
"Hahaha, guys, you see. I have an eye for people. I told you he would say yes." Yun Ni burst with laughter while activating a remote communication hologram showing the rest of the members.
"Cough, forgive our vice chairman's bluntness, she can be like this sometimes. So, let me ask you again, would you like to join our Rogue ghost enforcement group?" The person who spoke was a well built man with bronze coloured skin, he also had a charismatic smile reminiscent of a leader.
Looking at the newly appeared group, Wang Ming was further amazed. This world has many hidden experts and existances he did not know of. He felt like he was a little kid again, exploring the unknown and finding its rules.
"Although I am extremely weak, I will work hard, I will do my best!" Wang Ming had a resolute look in his eyes, ambition could be vaguely seen.
"Mm, good, good, good. I am Tie Tong Pi, you will meet Zhong Xi at the nearest cow factory farm tonight in a few hours. He will guide you through your orientation."
The person Tong Pi pointed at was a highly mechanised person, all of his body has been transformed into a machine except his head. Although science has made large breakthroughs to allow the existence of cyborgs, mechanising the brain was deemed impossible. Many of the top scientists had already given up on brain research as the depths of the brain was deemed too profound for mortals to comprehend.
"Eh? Why must I bring the new guy for the orientation? Yun Ni, why can't you do it. Aren't you the person who recruited this person?"
"Hehe, my bad, I just felt that Wang Ming looked interesting and recruited him on a whim. I still have a job to ferry a ghost later. You can't possibly want me to bring Wang Ming to a live mission even before he starts cultivating right?"
...
Cow farm? Will there be some kind of cow monster or ghost there? I wonder what I will be doing at such a place?
Many thoughts churned in Wang Ming's head while he walked towards the meetup location. En route, a mechanised man wearing a skin tight stealth suit walks out of the bend around the alley.
"Good evening new guy, what a coincidence that we meet here. My name is Zhong Xi, a cyborg. While we walk there, I will explain some of the basics of everything to you."
"So, there are six realms that constitute the true reality. Starting from the bottom three, they are the unhappy realms, which are the demon, ghost and beast. Then there are the happy realms, which are the human, demigod and heavenly realm. All these realms overlap each other in the physical world. To observe the other realms is not hard, you just need the appropriate tools to do so, which is today's objective, which is to collect cow tears. Cows are divine animals and their tears allow us to see the yin, such as ghosts and spirits. Regarding cultivation, a generalisation of it would be five levels starting from 5 all the way to one. As your cultivation increases, your lifespan increases and your perception of reality deepens.
The structure of society is also not so simple. Although it may not be hard to see that our government is just a puppet government from the corporations, behind the corporations are actually powerful cultivation sects."
"These are just the basics, the rest will be taught to you by someone else. Now let's get some cow tears." Zhong Xi pointed at the building in front of them signifying they had reached their destination.
Using a drone to disable the alarms and unlock the main door, Zhong Xi and Wang Ming entered the cow factory.
~~When you are happy and you know it, clap your hands. Clap Clap~~
An assortment of nursery rhymes that seemed out of place were playing. It had a superb effect on calming the feelings of the listeners, but to Wang Ming, it just made him more nervous.
When the first cow appeared in their view, Zhong Xi placed both his hands onto the cow's ears, forming a dome, then sad melodic tunes could be heard playing. With immediate effect, tears could be seen forming at the corners of its eyes.
Using a pipette to collect the tears, Zhong Xi called Wang Ming over to begin the orientation.
"Although all cows are divine animals, only the golden cow's tears have the strongest effect. All golden cows have been monopolised by powerful sects and corporations, and their tears are a rare commodity which requires a pretty penny to acquire. Luckily our Rogue ghost enforcement group is an initiative created by the Deva alliance and gets funded well."
Putting the pipette over Wang Ming's right eye, a drop of cow tears fell into his eye. Feeling the tear mix with the eye, Wang Ming felt an itch, so he blinked a few times.
In the cold dark Cow factory, through the vision of his right eye, it looked much colder, similar to the vision in his previous ghost form, but a much more washed down version.
"Ah, what is that‽" Wang Ming exclaimed.
