I have been discovered!

Sebastian had a bad feeling.

"He's not real." Jessica forewarned.

"What do you mean by 'he's not real'? We all got collective schizophrenia?" Willie refused to deny the existence of who could cut his throat just a few moments ago.

"No, he as a person is, but his position compared to the places where he appears is different. And it's not a clone, it has no mana on it, we can only see it, but not touch it, indeed, he can't touch us either."

"And also," Odell joined the conversation, "He has no such ability to absorb vitality, that flower is still intact, he just changed its appearance with…"

Odell and Jessica looked a each other.

"An illusion!" Both said it high and clear.

"What else is a lie." Willie quickly understood against what they were fighting, information was key for these kinds of situations.

"First, he doesn't know how to fly, the levitation was an accident and he used a lie to cover it, an illusion stays in the same place no matter how many holes you make in the floor."

"Second, he's not stronger than us… we can defeat him easily if we can see through his camouflage." He turned his head. "Jessica?"

"Leave that to me."

"Where is he now?"

"He is… there! Escaping!"

Odell was suddenly dumbfounded.

While this Sebastian levitating in the sky like a god is looking at them with eyes of 'worthless insects, come and attack me, you won't last a minute', you're telling me that the real one lifted his pants and ran the hell out of here?

"After him!" Odell shouted, taking action for his words immediately.

Normally, in a situation like this, he would find it peculiarly funny. But the tense nervousness caused by all the speculations and life-death assimilations had burned every inch of his sense of humor out.

His only goal now is to catch 'Sebastian' and put an end to this.

Selfishly, he ignored the 'no trouble' intentions of his teammates. Although those intentions are not as big as to go against either, they followed in his footsteps without objection.

"Odell, another thing. Your landlord might not be dead at all. He likely said that only to provoke you…" Jessica comforted, thinking that might be the reason for his agitation.

The man remained in silence, then sighed.

"No, that is truly Sebastian Bercic's ability, I remember his uncle telling me something about a marionette… So there are only two options left, he himself is my landlord or he actually said the truth… the first, I doubt it, why would my landlord make all this show."

"We'll figure it out… Attention! fifty meters, right in front of us." Jessica said abruptly as she made sure that the Sebastian seen matched the position her ability detected.

"It's curious, that illusion disappeared right when we knew it was fake." Willie pointed out the fact, "What's the logic behind it? Did he deactivate the ability or did it lose effect on us?"

"No idea, but we won't fall on that again!" Tedd hissed, remembering that the embarrassing reactions earlier makes him want to break things.

On the other side…

"Stay away! This is all a misunderstanding!"

"Why can't we sit down and clear things up like adults?"

Sebastian from not very far away screamed.

It's been a while since he could hear their voices approaching. And this time, it'll be inevitable to be caught, as none of them fears him anymore.

There was no psychological tactic that can outsmart them.

"I never intended to attack you! Please believe me!" He yelled again.

Funny how history repeats over and over again. On this occasion, the same car once more was his only alternative to escape.

And that's where Sebastian was running at full speed.

'Was I scared of that pathetic person?' Tedd clenched his fist.

"Odell, I think we are on the range," Jessica suggested.

"Yeah, leave that to me."

Without further ado, a new wave of attacks rained over Sebastian.

The car he longed for was so close but at the same time unreachable with all kinds of flying objects molesting.

The truth is that with enough concentration he can react fast enough to dodge them, however, that also meant losing speed, resulting in the four Manifesters catching up— he already runs slower than them.

This recreated on Sebastian a sense of familiarity, the feeling he constantly had when he used to play chess: if he had two turns instead of one, if he could move two pieces instead of one, things won't end up in checkmate.

Between a rock and a hard place, Sebastian gritted his teeth and made a decision.

Each of his hands summoned a [Pan]. Still running, one of them slipped it between his back and his shirt, and the other held to protect the back of his head.

Without looking back, he relied his life on the two ridiculous pseudo-metallic plates and kept running.

Clank!

Something might have hit the improvised 'bulletproof vest', but he had no time to verify if it was broken.

And if a mana bolt could hit right in the center of their torso, why wouldn't the unprotected areas be damaged.

Only ten meters more! Five big jumps and that's it!

Sebastian thought, ignoring his bleeding back and legs.

However, because of the excitement, he did not realize that a trap had been woven in order to bring him down.
