Mindless revenge

In an oversight, Sebastian stumbled.

He immediately leaned on his arms to get up. The problem was noticed until then: one of his legs has been tied by a creeper plant.

Shit!

In a situation like this, Sebastian of course won't believe that this was an accident or a coincidence.

But the 'why' was not relevant. His instant reaction of using a fireball to free himself was.

"As if I'll let you!" Odell's annoying voice echoed.

Next, more plants, especially grass, grew rapidly against biological logic entangling every part of his body.

The hands received special attention, tied one to each other, they ended up in the farthest position to the torso, making it impossible to use the flames.

"No matter how smart you are, you can't be always present to all the elements to be considered, at least not in an intense moment like a fight." The man approached victoriously, the three other people following afterward.

Seeing this, Sebastian knew that everything that just happened was part of his doing. This had to be the [Plan Manipulation] he mentioned but had no chance to show it off before.

Along with that, by rethinking the lies he made up, Sebastian can now confirm that using a flower as an example to fake an ability was a terrible idea. It was like bragging about a crime committed in front of a police officer.

He literally gave himself away.

"Well… you guys caught me, can we talk like civilized people without spears being thrown now?"

Despite the wounds hurting so much that he wanted to insult their whole family including any deceased pet, Sebastian abstained from those emotions to act all smiley.

"Talk? No, you won't," Odell shook his hands. Soon the teen knew that that gesture was preparatory to use his ability.

The plants that were immobilizing his head on the ground grew to cover his full mouth. Any attempt to speak resulted in inaudible groans.

But the worst part was that all the layers were reinforced.

No speaking of how impossible it was to move even a finger, his current appearance was identical to a chrysalis. The only difference was the size.

"We caught him, now what?" Willie had to ask since apparently, no one had the next step.

"I'll call the cops. Keep an eye on him. Remember that he can use fire." Odell said.

"I'll go see how's the car, and maybe parking it more properly." Jessica left too, without much worry, maybe because she considered that the two people were enough for the job.

Her mana detection ability might not be as overbearing as to ignore the 'privacy' and check the amount of mana inside of a body. But by experience, she knows that when mana is almost drying, the 'aura' feel's weaker than the original state. And that was exactly the situation of Sebastian.

So no mana = no ability = just a normal human.

"Ugh!"

Sebastian felt as if an anvil was felt on his stomach, with all the force of gravity, deforming his organs, stealing all his breath.

A bit dramatic, too much exaggeration, but the harm received was real.

Tedd stumped his belly as hard as he could just for revenge.

"You piece of shit! Wasting everybody's time!"

Have you ever been kicked by a trained athlete in one of the more fragile parts of the body? Sebastian has.

"Stop it! What are you doing!" Willie saw this and instantly blocked his companion's way toward a second round.

"Punishing the mother fucker that tried to kill us, duh."

All of a sudden, Tedd violently pushed Willie away, who did not expect that, and went for another kick, this time right on the chest.

"Uuughhh! Coghhh!"

Sebastian lost his consciousness for a few seconds.

Right when it was recovered, he saw a shoe sole once again.

Which was going straight to his head like an execution ax.

"Stop it!"

Thum!

Sebastian felt his hearth stopping… for a short instant.

Willie could pull Tedd back miraculously by jumping like a tiger over him. The second sound heard was from the two men falling to the floor.

"You're gonna break the plant ropes," Willie knew that reasoning about the wellbeing of the hostage was pointless for Tedd, so he tried to hold him with an excuse.

"Odell can always make new ones, doesn't he?" Tedd objected, aggressively struggling with the firm arms that stops him from standing up.

"Just get your ass away from him!"

"Fuck! Let me go!"

"If you promise to leave him in peace!"

"Let me go!"

The two men did not arrive in an agreement immediately, their bodies rolled on the floor until Tedd got tired of fighting.

"Okay, okay, fine! He deserves another one, but alright, I won't kick him again!"

Willie listened carefully, then opened his arms. Both got up from the floor.

"What's wrong with you, he did not harm a hair on your head." The black man grumbled as he dusted himself off.

Tedd did not say a word, his interest remained in doing the same cleaning with his clothes. Suddenly, he looked behind Willie.

"Hey Odell, what did the cops say?"

"Huh?"

Willie turned around, but against his expectation, he saw nobody. When he rotated his head back to question what kind of cheap joke was that, it was already too late.

Tedd was found next to the laid down Sebastian, raising a shiny energy ball with his hands and cracking a smile… a smile because Sebastian's factions were filled with horror, but still couldn't yell for help because of the tied mouth.

"Ughh Ughhh Ughh!"

"Piece of shit, you should have died earlier!"

Sebastian made fire in his hands, not caring that the heat burned his skin, attempting to save himself. But the plant ropes were tied in a way that no part of the body could flex and the fire was not burning fast enough.

I'm going to die… my head evaporated by that energy beam.

That was his last thought before the attack arrived at him.

"Why the fuck did you kill him!" Willie slapped Tedd's face, as a way to 'wake him up'.

"Me? No, not me," The voice of Tedd, despite being the same as always, sounded lunatic to him. "WE killed him."

"What the fuck are you talking about!"

"You, and me, and Jessica, and Odell, we did this together, we killed him! So we better sit down and think what are we gonna do next, hahaha."

Willie had no words to choose as the continuation of this demented conversation.

The mental state of the white man was obviously not normal. Just in case, Willie prepared his abilities secretly. He can't tell if his friend won't suddenly throw one of the energy beams at him too.

"Besides, he sure stands up again like before."

"That was an illusion, you idiot!."

"Well, who knows, maybe… oh, what did I tell you? There he is…"

"…alive and well."

"V!&3?$ #$@"

"Huh? What are you whispering?"

Suddenly, a thick layer of black smoke burst out with Sebastian's standing figure at its center.
