The entire council of wizards was in a panic about what they had just done or to be more accurate hadn't done. They were all frantically trying to figure out what had gone wrong. One of them was frantically shuffling through their book for an explanation.
Another one was arguing with a mage who he thought messed up the summoning. The 8 mages were all in a panic about what had happened. In total there were supposed to be 10 but 2 mages collapsed due to the over usage of magic.
These mages were all picked for their amazing capacity for magic and their talent at casting. They were all the top of the class in the kingdom spending years mastering their class but here they were arguing like children.
The spell that they were trying to cast the "hero summoning" was more complicated than they thought. To the mages dismay, the spell needed even more mana than they originally anticipated.
This meant they would have to recite the spell perfectly to make it work. They however failed apon trying leading to the failed conclusion of the spell.
"Do we try it again?!" a mage cried, terrified, his voice trembling.
"Are you crazy I'll die if I try that again!" another shouted angry, almost ready to walk out the room
"We have no choice if the king finds out we'll be doomed!" a mage came behind the one trying to leave and pulled him away.
Just then the door swung open to the summoning room. The unlucky mages had just gotten more unlucky as the prince walked angrily into the room.
His almighty power was like something else. His strong blue eyes and great-looking face only helped to his high standing. His blond short hair was as shiny as the medals he wore on his gold and red mantle.
"What's the meaning of this, where are my heroes!" the prince shouted
The mage who had stopped the other tried to reason with the king "My majesty my deepest apologies but you see the spell-"
"I don't want excuses, I want results you will try again at once!"
"But your majesty-"
The prince immediately looked directly at the mage with a gaze with killing intent. The mage could only stand there in fear looking at the ground.
"Now try it again, that's an order!"
All of the mages look at each other and one by one hold out their hands palm out facing at the circle in the middle.
They soon all start chanting the same spell together. Each one of them having a magic circle in front of their arm.
This time with the king right behind them failure was not an option. Because of this, they all made sure with 100% certainty they would not fail.
One by one the mana left the mage's hand and into the circle. The mana was so plentiful in the air that it started to be seen as a red mist.
The mana leaving the mage's arm and going into the circle was so plentiful you would chock even being inside of it.
It did not take long into the chanting for one to fall.
A bang was heard in the room making a few mages turn to see what happened but quickly continued after seeing what it was. A mage had fallen due to the mana required for the spell.
Bang another one fell but this time nobody looked; they had to concentrate on the spell. They could only pray they could hold out until the spell finished.
"Don't stop! This spell must work!"
The mages, already knowing this, continued putting all their effort into the spell. Bang! Another mage fell. Bang! The spell was almost done. Bang! Just a little more mana.
By now there were only 4 mages left. They had all put all they had into this spell if it didn't work they would for sure parish. As the last mages spoke the last words of the chant they kept their eyes closed and prayed.
The mages effort was not in vain however as the summoning circle soon started to glow. The light shot up into the sky with an immense bright red light.
"Yes it has worked, I knew it would work!
The mages overcome with excitement soon become overwhelmed with another feeling and soon passed out. These 4 mages would be renown through the land as the best but for now, laid on the floor exhausted.
The light soon dispersed supporting the idea the mage's effort was not in vain. They had pulled off one of the hardest spells ever known. They had summoned people from another world to be their heroes in this one.
In the center of the circle were two people, one female, one male and both of them lay down sleeping. The female was an outgoing person with many friends. While the male worked at a convenience store and played video games.
The summoning was successful.
