It's not as big of a story as you'd think. Person almost dies, woods catch on fire, blah blah blah. Except for me, it was worse.
I'm outside with my sister and her boyfriend (now ex boyfriend), and they're having fun, listening to music from the car and building up this fire.
Here's where it got bad, you see, because he was using gasoline to make it light up.
It happened in a matter of seconds, boy puts gas can near fire, fire goes into gas can, gas can almost blows up.
When he saw what happened, he put the gas can down... right in front of me. He looked up at me as I stood there, frozen. I couldn't move for some reason, I tried to, but my body wouldn't move. Suddenly, he picks up the gas can, looking for a place to toss it.
He looks to one direction... the house. He looks to the other direction... a car. He looks to another direction... camper. Finally, the woods. He doesn't waste any time, he chucks it hard towards the woods and within that second, the woods are lit up. Fire has spread across the ground. I watch for a few seconds before reality sets in. I see my sister looking shocked as well, but she tells me to get the hose. I grab the hose and try to turn it on... it doesn't work. The one time we really needed the hose, it doesn't work.
I'm freaking out as I tell my sister it isn't working and I tell her that I'm going to get my grandparents. She stops me, hesitant, but then tells me to go. I run inside and yell to everyone that the woods are on fire. My grandparents run outside and they stop once they see the fire. My grandma then says, "Haley, don't scare us like that, we thought the trees and everything were on fire, like a forest fire".
We worked together and got the fire out, but that wasn't the end for me.
After settling down that night, it was a rough sleep. I used to be a really bad sleep walker, going to sleep in a random spot, walking up the stairs, opening doors, everything. That night, I slept walked to the bathroom with a whole comforter over me, falling back asleep on the bathroom floor. I wake up about 20 minutes later and leave the bathroom, to see my sister standing in the kitchen and my grandma on the couch. My grandma told me she was just about to check on me since I was in there for about 20 minutes. I came out clenching my stomach, feeling like I was going to throw up. I felt so much pain. My sister gave me medicine and I laid back on the couch, going back to sleep instantly.
