Walking around the store Ty felt immense joy in his heart. It was a feeling like no other. Having being surrounded by books gave him happiness.
He checked the shelves for an interesting title to read, he saw quite a few that caught his interest so he picked them. He piled them up only concentrating on the books forgetting that he can't carry so much at the same time.
Ivan watched with interest how happy the prince looked inside the bookstore. It was different from all the other times he had seen him.
He himself could barely speak the language of the country let alone read so he didn't see what the younger make saw in books. But it made the prince smile so in a way it made him happy.
He noticed the books about to fall and rushed to help him. He held the prince's hands that we're holding the book to keep them from falling.
The prince yanked away his hands from him immediately causing the books to fall down. His touch had sent electricity through his body and made him shiver, it wasn't normal.
What more was the scent the prince picked up from him. He smelled like Shea butter and lavender. "Mate," his inner demon screamed in happiness having found it's mate.
He was frozen with fear and panic, the good news was that he had found his mate and the bad news was that he was not only a slave but also older than him and a man?
The man was fully grown with muscular body and well built chest that was visible from the shirt he wore, that hugged his body.
He panicked knowing that his mate was a man. It scared him thinking of what that meant for the two of them, as he panicked he triggered his wolf to awaken.
Ivan was scared from the reaction the prince gave him. He too was panicked scared that he had scared the younger boy away with his hand. It was of atmost importance that the boy doesn't grow to hate him.
Since he couldn't talk to the boy he took a step closer to him and took hold of his hands. He held his hands gently in his and caressed them to calm him down.
Like magic Ty found himself relaxing to his massages on his hand. He gazed at the older male holding his hands and his heart started beating in his chest faster. His skin was getting warmer under his touch.
"Prince," he heard Massir's voice in the distance and forced himself to pull back from his mate. He straightened his back and put on a serious look.
"Yes," he looked away from Ivan with much difficulty turning his attention to the butler.
"I got a warning from your bracelet. Are you okay?" Massir asked concerned.
Ty avoided being touched by the butler and nodded in reply. He didn't trust his voice to not say something stupid at that moment.
Ivan went down to pick out the books from the ground. He was having mixed feelings inside him on what just happened.
He wasn't sure what to think of the prince's reaction to him. It was strange and hurtful to think that the younger male hated his touch.
From how he reacted it was clear to him that the boy didn't like him. With the language barrier between them he couldn't ask the boy why he didn't like him so he just kept quite. He stood up once he had gathered all the books that were in the floor.
"Do you want to purchase these?" Massir asked pointing to the books in Ivan's arms.
"Yes," the boy let out. The feeling in his hand was yet to leave him, making him think of how warm the elder male's hand was.
The scent of his slave assaulted his nose making it hard to concentrate on anything else. It was surprising that the man his father randomly purchased for him at a black market turned out to be his mate.
They walked to the counter where the butler paid for everything they bought and made their way out of the bookstore.
"What else do you want to buy?"
"Some snacks. Buy some for me, I will be in the car," Ty said and walked ahead to leave. He had enough excitement for one day. He wished for his room and to be left alone with his books far away from the gorgeous older male that is supposed to be his life partner.
Ivan followed behind him carrying the things that they had bought. It was a silent walk of watching the prince hoping to find out why the boy hated him. They hadn't interacted much so the fact that the boy disliked him made him worry.
Unknown to him was the conflict going on inside Ty's head. The fight of whether he can accept him as his mate or not. Not to mention the fact that Ty had no idea whether he was a werewolf or not.
"Tyrone," they both heard a scream inside the mall. Unlike normal people who would stop when called and see what the other wanted. The prince did the opposite, he increased his pace and went for the door.
Emilia had to run in order to try and catch up to him. She was carrying a lot of shopping bags in her hands.
"Ty," she called out once more to get the boy to stop. "Will you stop," she pleaded.
The prince racer back to the car, Ivan was right behind him. He leaned his back on the car and sized up the slave. His eyes traced every inch of the man from head to bottom.
Ivan tensed under his intense stare but didn't back down. In order to see whether their was any malice in his eyes, Ivan gazed at Tyrone's eyes.
When they made eye contact, Ty felt his heart skip a beat. It raced in his chest threatening to break through from him and ran away. It took all of him to turn away from the man.
Emilia joined them with her shopping bags. She was heaving for breath when she got to them. Her hands were tired from carrying all the bags.
She handed the bags to Ivan to carry and took a step next to him. Her closeness made Ty panic. He was not emotionally controlled due to the whole mate thing, he didn't need to add more to that.
"What is the matter Ty?" she asked him nicely. Her voice with a little sweetness to them. If his mind and heart were not panicked then he would appreciate the concern but that was not the case.
He couldn't wait for the butler to come so that they could go home. The whole day was a mistake, he should have gone shopping with them that was certain.
"I am fine," he responded uninterested. He kept stealing glances at the older male who stood opposite him. The warm touch on his hand still lingering, he wondered why him.
Of all the people in the world, why was he his mate and why did he affect him so much. Why couldn't it be a girl his age or a boy his age? Why did it have to be an older man who could even communicate to him.
His head was hurting from all the thoughts that raced through his mind. Confusing was ranking through every pulse in his body. The moon sure did have a bad humour. His life wasn't bad enough as it was that they had to add his birthday gift to complicated thing even more.
It was both sad and exhausting. He needed to get away from it all and try to forget. His mind was so lost that he didn't realise when the butler arrived.
He felt a nudge on his side and blinked. "Shall we?" the Butler asked him.
"Yes," he said. He got into the back seat with Ivan sitting beside him. He laid his head to the window to get some rest and ease his mind from the things that troubled him.
He could feel his demon pressing to embrace his mate. It wanted to be let out to be with Ivan. It didn't help matters that he could smell Ivan's sweet scent from where he sat.
It was intoxicating to take in his scent. He opened the window to reduce the thickness of his scent by mixing it with a new scent from the fresh air outside.
