Day 12 -Alexia(1)

It was a dreamless dream.

The kind of dream where one is simply falling into an endless pit of darkness. The same kind of dream where the flow of time is irrelevant.

Suddenly, in this lucid dream, Cain saw a bright light shine in his eyes. It illuminated the space and clashed with the forces of darkness existing in it.

In the blink of an eye, the light consumed him and he found himself in another place.

This time, he appeared in a sort of hall with ancient inscriptions inscribed on the walls of the hall. A solemn hymn echoed throughout the hall, bringing peace to Cain. The hall felt familiar.

It was as if he was meant to be here!

At the corner of his eye, he spotted two great spheres that levitated in the air freely. Just as he was about to move closer to them, a voice reached out to him.

"Cain. Cain. Cain!"

The voice shouted with such a blaring intensity that it gave Cain headaches. He looked to his right…..and then to his left. There was no one there.

Just what was the voice?

"Cain. Cain. Cain!"

He was starting to feel a cold hand shake his body but, astoundingly enough, there was no one shaking him. Suddenly, his mind went through a sharp mental transportation.

When he opened his eyes again, the ceiling of the underground bunk entered his view.

A thin sound, like the clashing of light metals, echoed in his head. For a while, his brain short-circuited, leaving him unable to process the information from his surrounding. When his mental faculty was back to normal, he felt his environment…..literally!

'What is happening?' thought Cain.

"Cain. Duck!" A loud shout awoke him from his deep thought.

He didn't think. He hastily rolled away from his spot and allowed his arm to reach for the nearby gun in his waist holster.

When he turned back to look at his previous spot, he expected to see an abomination or something that looked like a monster. However, it was much different.

He saw Theo, William, and Azrael jump at the figure that attacked him. The three of them looked different.

No, they didn't "look" different. They were different!

Of the three, Theo gained red streaks in his dark hair while William seemed younger. As for Azrael, she was entirely different!

She now had violet hair with striking silver-blue eyes. Worst of all, a thin blue butterfly wing extended from her back.

He watched as she dashed at his attacker. It was then he was cast in a sea of confusion.

His attacker was...… Alexia. Wait, it was an Alexia with beaming red eyes.

Azrael swiped her knife at Alexia, but the latter countered it at an insane speed. She shifted her body and threw a kick towards Azrael's head. Azrael tried to use her right arm to block the attack but she just ended up getting kicked into one of the walls of the bunker.

"Hehehehe," grinned Alexia after seeing this.

Meanwhile, Theo pointed his gun at Alexia, "Alexia, stop this nonsense. What do you think you are doing?!"

The hesitation in his eyes was as clear as ever. Even Cain, who had no idea what was happening, knew Alexia meant to kill them.

The madwoman quickly drew a dagger from her waist and flung it at Theo. The fast series of actions was good enough to disarm Theo, which allowed Alexia to lunge at Theo.

She unsheathed another dagger as she dashed for Theo. Cain speculated that it was game over for their leader. Theo was unarmed and still in shock. He wouldn't be able to react before Alexia reached him.

Suddenly, with a brutal momentum, a figure jumped at Alexia, throwing her off her planned path. The two tumbled on the ground for a while until the figure, which was later revealed to be William, stayed on top and wrestled with her.

He was quickly bested by Alexia. As a former military soldier, her combat skill was over the top.

In less than a minute, she was back on top and was looking to end the facade. She raised her dagger high and instantly dragged it down, aiming for William's head.

It was then a third party interfered. Theo delivered a kick to Alexia's side. He was about to start a combo when Alexia parried his second kick and slammed his body on the ground.

She grinned once again, "Hehehe."

With a low kick, she broke Theo's rib. She went on to brutalize his body before he could evade it. It went on for a while.

Cain's eyes froze as he witnessed this brutal action. It was only after a voice reached out to him was he broken out of this stasis, "How long are you going to stare?"

He glanced to his side to see the slumbering figure of Azrael. Her left arm was bent awkwardly but she coldly fixed it back into position.

'Yeah, I need to do something,' realized Cain.

He quickly asked Azrael, "Where are the others?"

"Knocked out."

"How did this happen?"

"I don't know."

"Is she still in there?"

"I don't know."

"Why is she so strong."

An exasperated sigh escaped Azreal's lip, "I don't know."

"Why---"

Before he could complete his words, he earned a sharp stare from Azrael.

"Nevermind."

She said to him as she flexed her body a bit, "We just need to overpower her."

Listening to her, Cain looked at Alexia. She was still engrossed in brutalizing poor Theo.

Despite getting chills, he joked, "Yeah, how hard can it be?"

*Whoosh!*

Azrael was the first to move. Cain followed her closely. He reached for his dagger, putting his gun back in the holster. The goal wasn't to kill Alexia. Although he was very much okay with killing her, something told him it wouldn't be the right choice.

Alexia stopped punching Theo and glanced at the incoming enemies. She picked Theo's dagger with her left hand and stabbed his left leg.

She then stepped on his right leg and dashed to her incoming enemies with a smile on her face
