Day 2- Alexia(2)

Midway through the fight, Cain thought back to his last words '....how can it be?'

He knew he shouldn't have jinxed it at that moment!

.................

*Whack!*

Beside him, the figure of Azrael flew through the air after getting kicked by Alexia.

This left only him and the madwoman. Cain knew he had to distance himself from the lady, so moved back but what he didn't expect was the madwoman predicting his thoughts.

She intercepted him with a high kick, which sent him to the ground. With a firm grip, she sat on him and raised her hand in a swift motion.

Like a boomerang, the fist came back at him!

*Punch!*

'Oh, damn, It hurts.'

Cain screamed like a lady. He tried to push away Alexia but the lock she had on him was too special. It paralyzed his leg, making him lose control of the strongest part of his body.

Out of nowhere, a kick went for Alexia's head but the madwoman used her left hand to deflect it. The hand broke. Nonetheless, she successfully protected herself.

Alexia grinned yet again as he gave Cain one last look before attempting a jab on him.

From Cain's perspective, the punch was fast in the first milliseconds but when he concentrated fully on it, something surprising took place. Everything around him, including the moving fist lagged. It was as if he was playing it on in slow motion.

He couldn't quite wrap his head around it, but he knew he had to act before time ran out.

He bent his head away from the fist's path and jagged his own fist at Alexia's guts.

It was all so fast and truthfully, Cain expected his attack to land. Alas, it didn't. Alexia reacted at the last moment and blocked it.

However, she wasn't able to react to the kick that went for her head again. She quickly brought both her hands to protect her face but the momentum the kick gathered blasted her away, showing the inhumane strength behind it.

Finally, Cain processed the dormant information he had received all this while.

He cursed, "What the actual fuck?!"

There seemed to be something strange going on. Alexia had superhuman strength. He showcased an impossible feat of reflex. Azrael had wings on her back!

There was nothing normal about the situation!

Azrael moved closer to him and noticed his stupor, "You are finally catching up. Good."

"How did all these happen?"

"I don't know. We just woke up like this," she maintained constant eye contact, "The others are the same."

"Ok…..she's coming!" warned Cain.

He wasn't sure how he knew, but he just knew!

The figure of Alexia quickly appeared in their front. This time, she didn't rush the fight. She stopped her movements when she reached a sizable distance from them.

"Despite not looking different, Cain, you seem to have changed. Since, when were you this fast? Well, it doesn't matter. Hehehe," grinned Alexia.

Cain could tell that there was something in her tone. In a way, it felt like it wasn't Alexia talking, which could be sensed from just hearing her voice.

His brief adventure with the group made him understand each one of them. Alexia wasn't an active person. She was a quiet person, just like him!

Cain opened his mouth to ask, "Who are you?"

"Alexia, of course. Let's finish this please," scoffed Alexia.

She went to meet the unconscious Theo and picked up the dagger she used to stab his leg. Finally, she had two daggers. One for her right hand and one for her left hand, which she seemed to have fixed before reappearing in front of them.

Suddenly, a fierce wind accompanied her as she moved. Even with Cain's heightened reflexes, he almost couldn't keep up with her.

Like before, Azrael moved to interrupt the madwoman. She went for a high kick while Cain settled for a low kick.

The sequence of action was well executed. Although, Alexia easily jumped in the middle of the attack, safely evading it.

She quickly lunged at Cain, but the latter was one step ahead. He deflected her dagger strike with his and kicked at her leg.

*Whack!*

Alexia deftly bypassed Cain's dagger and stabbed at him. Due to the difficulty of the attack, it ended up not being anything serious. But a red liquid quickly rushed out to stain Cain's dark clothes.

He took advantage of the situation and sent a punch at Alexia's gut. Cain didn't know how to fight. He was only aware of the basics and never pursued martial arts or anything related.

This was why he and Azrael seemed to be on the losing end!

Nevertheless, they could compensate for their lack of skills with numbers.

In an unladylike manner, Azrael sneaked behind Alexia and grabbed her two legs just before Cain's punch. This started Alexia, allowing Cain's punch to perfectly land.

Just when his fist contacted Alexia's skin, Cain felt a wave of static electricity sting him. He sharply brought his hands back and retreated.

It was the same for Azrael. Some strands of her hair went up and she looked quite disheveled.

'What was that?' thought Cain.

He realized that things were not as simple as he thought. Nevertheless, if getting shocked was the consequence, then he was not going to be scared.

He shared a brief glance with Azrael. Their thoughts seem to be synced, which made them lunge for Alexia at the same time.

Alexia parried Cain's strike with her dagger, but it was a feint! The real attack was a leg sweep!

Swept to the ground, Alexia lost grip on the entire situation as Azrael's fist planted on her face. The cold Azrael wasn't pulling any stops. She punched Alexia continuously while Cain grabbed the dagger in her hands. He used them to stab both her legs in a brutal manner.

The picture of a crucifix appeared in his mind. Cain smiled as he got an idea.

He used his dagger to stab Alexia's left hand while taking Azrael's dagger to do the same for Alexia's right hand.

With one last punch, Azrael knocked out Alexia and slipped away due afterward. Static shocks coursed through her skin all this while, attacking her.

She laid on the cold floor and sighed, "We are done."

Alexia was out of action

Yes, they were done.

Cain looked at his coarse hands and thought, 'This is possibly the most taxing thing I have done in a while. My muscles feel sore.'

He took a seat on the nearby couch but looked at Alexia. He didn't feel secure. So, he looked around for a rope. When he found that, he used it to tie up Alexia just in case.

Before he knew it, his eyes slumbered and he fell to the ground.
