Adoption Request

Knock! Knock!

"Director, Ann is here."

"Oh, welcome Ann." The Director quickly walked to the door and opened it. He smiled brightly when he saw Ann in front of him.

However, Ann could definitely see that his eyes were only seeing money. If this was a cartoon, she was sure that his eyes would have turned to form the money symbol.

"Hello Director."

"Come in, Ann."

Ann walked inside in leisure manner. Her eyes swept the room before landing on the middle aged couple on the sofa. The two of them were dressed in luxurious brand, clearly signifying that they came from a renowned family. Even though they were only sitting, their posture was very straight as if they were in the middle of an important meeting.

The middle aged man was slightly plump but he had defined face. His beard was trimmed carefully while his hair was combed to the back. It was a clear effort of trying to impress someone with his appearance.

"Hello Ann, my name is John Davis. I'll be your new father."

The middle aged woman furrowed her eyebrows slightly. However, whatever she was currently feeling was quickly hidden back into her eyes. She looked at Ann and smiled faintly. "Hello Ann, my name is Brenda Davis. I'm going to be your new mother."

Ann arched her eyebrows when she saw the two of them introducing themselves as her new parents. She turned to look at the director who seemed to be so eager as to send her away in order to get a lot of money.

"Ann, they're Mr. Davis and Mrs. Davis. They'll be your new parents." The Director smiled.

"I'm already 17."

"17 is still not an adult yet," The Director argued. "When you turn 18, you'll then be an adult and able to do whatever you want."

Ann looked at the director deeply while the director flitted his eyes away. He definitely wouldn't want to tell the truth that he was trying to get a lot of money from the Davis Family. When he saw the offer, his jaw nearly dropped out of shock.

These people really wanted Ann to be their adopted daughter. Even though he didn't know the reason, he didn't want to reject such free money.

"Have you told them about my hobby, Director?" Ann asked with a smile.

The Director stiffened when he heard that. He looked at the Davis couple and felt that his words stuck on his throat. When he saw her resume, he found out that the reason no one wanted to adopt her all this year was because she wanted one thing from them.

"That's… uh…"

"What is it?" John Davis asked with a frown. He didn't think that there would be something that was so difficult to say, right? Even if Ann wanted them to buy her something expensive, they didn't mind in the slightest bit.

"I liked werewolves story." Ann didn't wait for the director to recover. She looked at her 'new parents' with a smile. "Therefore, I would like to have my room decorated with items related to them."

The Director nearly face palmed when he heard that. He had seen from the document that Ann was someone who liked werewolves. She even collected silver bullets, posters, and some others in her bag.

The other children who heard about it would always look at her strangely, but they didn't say anything improper. The girls often stayed away from her, though, as they didn't want to get involved.

How could they possibly like something so scary like that?

And those who wanted to adopt her all unable to accept having a child with such weird hobby. They were all trying to tell her that werewolves were not real and that she should find a new hobby, but Ann rejected them.

Thus, no one had managed to adopt her so far.

"Werewolves?" John Davis' eyes turned a bit strange when he heard that.

Mrs. Davis also didn't look too good, but she didn't say anything. It was not like they wanted to adopt her because they wanted to show her off but rather for another reason.

Ann watched their reaction as she continued to smile. This was the condition that she had set up in her resume when she moved to Mary's Orphanage. Thanks to this strange resume and her age, there were not many people who expressed their willingness to adopt her.

But…

"Sure, I don't mind," John Davis agreed.

"Really?" Ann's eyes lit up. "Then I agree, Director."

The Director looked like he had just been pardoned from a great sin as his face lit up so brightly. He nodded his head repeatedly. "Good, good, good. Don't worry, I'll settle the paper right away!"
