School

John Davis didn't seem to care that the atmosphere in the dining table was so terrible that it could possibly dampen the mood of everyone on the table. He was still eating calmly while trying to think about the work that he had to do not long from now.

There were a lot of things that he had inevitably missed because he spent the time to take the child.

"Ann, you'll be attending the same school with Celeste. I already arranged for you to be in the same class as her."

Ann arched her eyebrows. Even though she didn't really want to go to school, she was indeed still 17 years old. It would be weirder for girls at her age to not go to school.

*sigh*

How annoying.

Charles snorted. "Don't drag my sister down. She's the best student in the class!"

"Charles, I'm not that good." Celeste blushed but there was a smile on her face. It was clear that she was actually proud to be the best student in class, but she couldn't say it out loud.

Mrs. Davis looked at her son. "If you have been paying more attention to the teacher, you can easily become the best in class too."

"Mom…."

"Didn't I say the truth?"

Charles pursed his lips but said nothing. He didn't really want to become the best in class because it was so annoying. Rather than spending his time to study, it would be better for him to play around. Besides, he was better at sports rather than anything that was related to his brain.

Ann was watching them as the corner of her lips curled up slightly. She should have already expected it.

"Don't listen to Charles, Sister. If you find the lesson difficult, you can always ask me any question you want." Celeste smiled, acting as if she was the most caring sister in the world. Those who didn't know better would have thought that they were blood related sister who had been staying with each other for over a decade.

"I see."

Though, Ann didn't really care about school. She didn't want to study again. It was so boring that she felt that she really wanted to skip school.

Hmm, she could just skip when there was a chance then.

"Let's go."

They headed to the same school, but Charles was heading to the middle school section because he was still in eight grade.

Both Ann and Celeste were in twelfth grade, the last grade.

The two of them walked out of the car together, attracting the other students who were passing by. After all, Celeste was known to be the school's belle and naturally, everyone would try to find out who was with her.

"There's a girl beside School Belle?"

"Really? Does Princess Celeste has a new close friend?"

"But the girl looks unfamiliar."

"Is she another new adopted daughter of Davis Family."

"Another?" One of them asked curiously.

The one who said that nodded. He was in the same class as Celeste and naturally had seen the other so called sister whom Celeste brought since last year. "Yeah, Davis Family seemed to be searching for new daughter who can be good friend with Celeste. However, I heard that the other adopted girls didn't match and end up returning to the orphanage."

"There's something like that?"

"Wait, that mean she's an orphan?"

"Was would be more appropriate."

"Yeah. If she ends up matching well with Princess Celeste, didn't it mean that she would be the new princess from Davis Family?"

"Right."

The word princess was their way of calling those who came from the top powerful families in Compel City. There were too many of them and many of them were so much better than them, so they tried to get close to them by addressing them so politely like this.

While the students were chatting with each other, the main star was busy looking around the school.

"Sister, you'll be in the same class as me." Celeste pointed to the classroom.

"I see."
