Chapter 12

"Do you think they'll ever leave him alone?" Jak asked.

He and Tay were sitting outside the library despite the rain. Pheromones were rampant and Tay didnt want to deal with anyone else's desires. He was barely managing his own.

He'd been sleeping with Damian again. After that night where he'd given Tay a blowjob, Damian had been a little more open. He'd been giving Tay a little more physicality and emotions. He didn't take too much just yet, but Tay took what he could get.

He was beginning to feel happy. When he pictured his life, his best friend was just his best friend. He hadn't thought Damian would reciprocate his feelings, but here he was seriously thinking about it. He thought he'd meet a woman and have a family, but now he was on the verge of getting what he wanted.

Tay followed his friend's gaze. Damian was walking to the administration building, a whole gaggle of Alphas following him. He wasn't back to his normal personality, but he was able to talk to others like he used to.

Jak whistled as they disappeared in the building. "Those bastards have no idea."

"No, they really don't. If they came just a little further this way, they'd see it," Tay answered.

"No," his friend objected, "you'd pull Damian to you and show who owns him."

"And he would argue with you. Face it. Damian doesn't bend to your will, and you hate that."

The other Alpha shrugged. "It's not that he doesn't bend to my will. David raised him to be his own person without compromising who he is."

Jake laughed through his nose as he sipped through his straw. "He's a masculine Omega who responds to emotions instead of pheromones. It's what Antona taught him, not David. It's the same thing my mom taught Alana."

Alana was Jak's younger sister who was also an Omega. She was the reason Jak was so compassionate to Damian. He'd seen his sister go through a lot when she was in middle school, so when Damian had been attacked, he'd been the right person to help Tay take care of him.

Jak's family was another set of shareholders in David Marquette's expansive business adventures. Currently, John and Karen Olson are working overseas. Jak and Alana were staying in their family home with their aunt so Alana could finish high school.

Karen and Antonia were good friends. They'd been pregnant at the same time with Jak and Damian respectively. Karen had helped Antonia with her high risk pregnancy, and she had donated blood after the birth when Antonia needed a transfusion after a severe hemorage.

Damian and Jak met when they were babies, but due to business, Jak had moved away when he'd been two. The Olson's had returned when he had been in middle school, and the rest was history.

Jak wasn't interested in much. Drinking, women, and having his basic needs met were the main three, but he had a soft spot for Damian. He was willing to piss off Tay to keep him safe. Tay respected him because he knew Jak would do what he could to make sure Damian was taken care of if Tay refused to claim him.

They worked on their engineering project. Tay was in aerospace engineering while Jak was majoring in electrical engineering. They'd a class together just to fulfill their hours.

A random freshman tripped and fell into their table. Tay's drink fell to the ground, but they were more concerned about the kid.

"Is one of you Tay?" he asked. He gulped copious amounts of air into his lungs.

"I am. What's wrong, kid?" Tay asked.

"You're needed in the administration building. Your friend Damian is in trouble."

They left their things on the table and ran across the quad. Nothing could make Tay freak out more than something happening to Damian. After that one night, he'd had to know where he was at all times.

Terror flooded him. He glanced at his phone, cursing as he realized what date it was. How had they been so stupid? How did he not realize it?

He smelled the pheromones beofre he even set foot in the door. No wonder everything was going to hell. He had forgotten the basics of taking care of an Omega, and he was afraid he'd hurt someone.

The first floor bathroom was blocked by hungry Alphas. The pheromones were wild, but none of them were extremely dominant. That didn't matter though. Too many of them could cause enough damage.

Tay and Jak looked at each other with raised eyebrows. Smiling dangerously, they released their own and walked in the building.

Watching unsuspecting Alphas scatter never got old. But there were always those who thought they could stand against them especially when they were together. They didn't usually, but this was Damian. All bets were out the window.

"Get out of here, Walker," Tay warned.

The Alpha in question turned his crazy gaze to him. Tay had the upper hand. He was fully in control even though an Omega was in heat just beyond that door.

"He's unclaimed. He's free game," Walker slurred. He was drunk under the effects of Damian's pheromones so he wasn't making much sense.

"Actually, he is," Jak said, "and if you don't do as he says, you'll be eating drywall."

Walker made a mistake. He took one step forward into Tay's face. Jak stepped back as Tay released a massive wave of pheromones. He had never met anyone more dominant than his friend. Tay didn't usually use his dominance as a powerplay, but this was Damian. All bets were off.

The other Alpha's knees gave out, and he sank to the floor. Tay stared down at him for a moment before stepping over him.

"Jak, get him out of here," he said. He slammed the outer door open and walked into the bathroom.

If he was a lesser Alpha, he would be on his knees. Damian was a masculine Omega, meaning he didn't usually fall all over an Alpha. It was as Jak said. He didn't listen to Tay half the time unlike how most Omegas do to an Alpha. Plus he was a serial monogamous. He wouldn't give in to just anyone.

During his heat, he was different. He was more compliant and a little less strict with himself. He usually locked himself away at home to ride it out. He didn't like anyone to see him like this.

Tay plugged his nose and strode forward. The last stall on the right was closed, and it was the origin of the pheromones. He pushed open the door and looked down.

Damian was curled in a ball on the toilet, holding his ears. He looked small and out of it. His skin was flushed a pale shade of red.

"Damian," Tay whispered.

The Omega looked up then launched himself at the Alpha. Tay wrapped him up and held him as close as he could. This close, the smell was intoxicating. He held on, then strode from the bathroom. He had to get Damian home.

Jak was alone in the hallway. He pushed off the wall and followed Tay out of the building. The looks they received were hungry, wary the most.

"I'll bring your stuff home after my practice tonight," he said. They stood at the sidewalk waiting to cross to the parking lot.

"Thanks. My spare key is at the bottom of my bag," Tay said.

"I'll get Damian's too." Jak ruffled Damian's hair. "You'll need to make a decison. I don't think he'll be able to handle this again."

Tay nodded. "I plan on it."

The other Alpha nodded then gave him a gentle push. "Go. take care of him. He needs you."

He left them when the walkway turned green. Tay crossed the street quickly and found his car.

He carefully put Damian in the front seat, watching as he curled in on himself. When he got to the driver's side, his passenger was panting.

"This is going to be a long drive," he muttered.

He put the car in reverse and hoped he could make it home before his own personal hell broke loose.
