Starbucks 2.

After placing our orders and having a few minutes of awkward silence my cousin decides to break the ice.

- So Pandora, where did you live before you moved here? -Kai asks and I look at Calvin who had an amused expression on his face.

- It's nowhere cool or important to mention. - says the blonde constantly tapping her fingers on the table and I smile looking at Kai who looks embarrassed.

- I remember hearing some people comment that you were born here, but moved when you were still a baby. - says Calvin and then the blonde's attention turns completely to him.

Intimidating look.

I wonder if she does it on purpose even if it seems to be unconscious.

Something natural.

- It is true. she says with her blue eyes fixed on Calvin's blue ones. - But it was always just my mother and me. - completes and Kai looks at me waiting for me to say something to make the subject surrender.

- What happened to your father? - I ask feeling stupid for asking something like that, but her restrained smile when looking at me makes me relax a little.

'Let's just say he's a sucker gone bad and I was lucky not to meet him. - She answers with a tone of amusement that makes me curious. - He just dumped me in a box at my foster mother's house, that's why she named me that. - He says looking at Kai and Calvin before returning his gaze to mine. -She loves myths, tales, stories and other supernatural things and the myth of Pandora's box is her favorite, so that's where my name came from, because according to her I'm her Pandora's box. - complete and I smile.

- But according to the stories told, Pandora's box was not a good thing. - Kai says and she looks at him.

- It depends on the point of view, after all there have always been bad things in the world, the box in the myth may only serve to justify the evil of men and the selfishness of the Gods. -She says seriously without taking her eyes off him. - Evils were not the only thing that Pandora's box carried, inside it there was also hope and there are those out there who say that she is the last to die, so for my mother I am her hope in the midst of all adversity of life . - She completes with a smile and I smile finding her way of thinking and expressing her point of view unique.

- That's pretty cool. - says Calvin smiling as he adjusts his glasses and Pandora smiles at him.

- I think I'll have to look for you whenever I'm only seeing the negative side of the situation. - jokes my cousin and Pandora looks at him.

- I think I'll have to charge, after all it would be kind of a therapy. - returns the joke and my cousin smiles.

- I think it's fair. - says Kai nodding.

- Now it makes sense that you like horror books so much. says Calvin thoughtfully. - I have some about legends of wolves in case you like. - Completes the blonde and all eyes turn to him.

- Do you have any about werewolves too? - Pandora asks and he nods while I look at Kai who had an expression of confusion mixed with curiosity. - Great, I would love to read and I can lend you some too, I have a very large collection at home. - he completes smiling and the boy nods back.

At this point Kai must be dying of curiosity inside while I'm finding it funny the natural way Calvin managed to introduce the subject I indicated to get my cousin's attention without arousing suspicion.

I could never act so naturally.

This kid deserves the Oscar for best actor.

- Do you like wolves? - Kai asks looking at Calvin with an expression I know very well.

- Sure, they're cute. - Answers and my cousin smiles confirmed that I'm right in thinking I made a great suggestion for Calvin.

- I heard that they can be quite aggressive despite being cute. - says Kai and Calvin smile.

- Depends on the point of view and the situation, after all they are usually great and loyal companions. - says the blonde and I look at Pandora who was watching their interaction in silence with an expression of amusement.

- If you'll excuse me, I'm going to my car, I forgot my cell phone and I need to text my mother. - Pandora says getting up and then walks towards the front door.

- I'm going to the restroom. - I say getting up with the intention of leaving them alone for a moment so they can talk better.

They both nod as I get up and then go back to talking as I walk away from the table heading towards the bathroom to stay there until Pandora comes back, as soon as I enter the bathroom I notice that it had just been cleaned by the good smell of lavender disinfectant hovering in the air. I walk to the sink and then I apply some liquid soap on my hands and then I rub them slowly, I'm not in a hurry to get back to the table, I can take this moment alone to absorb all these situations outside my usual routine of going to school with Kai and avoid talking to James for more than five minutes at all costs which would give him time and motivation to ask me out.

It's not that he's not handsome and attractive, after all, he's the typical captain of the basketball team that girls melt for, but I'm not looking for that kind of relationship.

And if I was looking it would be with someone different, maybe I'm taking his status and the fact that he's that typical teen movie heartthrob literally.

Maybe that's why I don't allow him to get too close and maybe I'm even wrong to do that, it could be that he's much more than he appears.

I sigh as I wash my hands thinking I might actually be wrong about him, after all he's managed to form a sort of friendship with Pandora and she strikes me as the type of person who wouldn't make friends with the typical teen movie heartthrob. I smile grimacing as I notice that I'm bringing the girl into my thoughts too much even if unintentionally and that means I'm somehow getting closer to her in a way I haven't approached anyone else before.

-Thoughts of her must be a sea of fun for you to smile so much at nothing. -I jump with fright when I hear Pandora's voice and then I see her reflection in the mirror standing behind me, I take a deep breath, turning off the faucet while I stare at her reflection.

- You almost made me have a heart attack. I say and see a small smile form on her lips.

- It's not my fault if you're a scared little wolf. - he says taking a step forward and then stretches out behind me, but without touching or bumping into my body and takes a little paper towel and then holds it out to me as I feel my heart beating even faster than when I got scared seconds ago due to this approach that makes me have not pure thoughts.

- T-thank you. - I say nervously turning to look at her while I dry my hands and she walks away still smiling. - Why do you keep calling me that? - I ask confused.

- Like this ? - He asks crossing his arms while I throw the paper in the trash.

- A werewolf. - I answer and she smiles.

- Your manner reminds me of a lone wolf, then. - he says shrugging and I make a face. - Come on, lone wolf, our orders are already on the table and I think we've given enough time for your cousin to develop at least an interest in Calvin. - She completes touching my hand pulling me slowly and then all that feeling from yesterday comes to the surface as I hear her voice in my head.

" Moon."

" Moon."

" Moon."

In seconds everything around me disappears along with the image of the blonde giving way to a forest covered by fog, but it's not just any forest and the forbidden forest, I walk towards her hearing Pandora call me. The cold wind against my skin doesn't bother me as usual, I feel my hands ringing and when I go to dry them on my clothes I feel something in my pocket, I reach inside my pocket and take what looks like a necklace, but it's not just any necklace and Pandora's necklace and then she appears in front of me and puts her hand over mine that held the necklace and then looks me in the eyes smiling, I try to touch her face, but then her image gradually disappears as I listen again your voice in my head.

" Moon."

" Moon."

" Luna Blackwood."

- Moon? -I hear Pandora's voice closer followed by her touch on my shoulders shaking me and then I blink my eyes seeing her look at me with a funny expression. - Are you okay ? - she asks worriedly and I nod looking around mentally registering the details of the bathroom to make sure I'm back to reality. - Are you sure, you stopped in time out of nowhere and it's hot. She says and I make a face.

- Sorry, I think I'm daydreaming for not having slept well at night. - I lie and she smiles.

- Or you smoke weed and you're hallucinating. -she says amused and I punch her shoulder making her laugh and then focus my attention on her necklace.

- Where did you buy that necklace? - I ask touching the object and she drops her gaze from my face to my hand.

- It was a gift from my mother. -she replies and then looks at me and I look back.

Her appraising expression doesn't make me curious or uncomfortable, but the feeling of déjàvu when she places her hand over mine makes me a little nervous as my heart beats faster than it should.

- I think I was wrong to call you a lonely wolf, you're more of a curious wolf. - She says amused, smiling in a different way from the others.

There's no sarcasm, no joking, no mockery, she's just making a commonplace comment as if she's realized she's defined me the wrong way or that there's more to me than she can bear in mind.

- Come on, I don't like cold coffee. - she says walking away and then walks towards the door while I stand there with a probably idiot expression on my face.

I sigh trying to understand all this mess forming in my head right now, she causes me these strange sensations and she still has the hallucinations, they started since she approached me at that party, there's something wrong with me about her and I need to find out what it is.

I think I need to talk to my uncle about this.

He must know something.

I take a deep breath and then leave the bathroom, as I pass through the door I look towards our table and am confused to see James sitting next to Pandora, but not in the place where I was sitting before, I walk there curious with this sudden appearance of the boy.

- Hello, Luna. - James says quickly when noticing my presence and I smile in a restrained way at him.

- James, what a surprise to see you here. - I say sitting down with Calvin and Kai's eyes focused on my brief dialogue with the boy while Pandora ate quietly, seeming to ignore everything around her.

- I came for a job interview, but I don't think I did very well because it ended so quickly. - James says thoughtfully, knitting his eyebrows in confusion as he looks at me and I think that's cute. - Anyway, I saw the boys and Pandora here so I came to greet them and they invited me to stay, I hope you don't mind. - complete making a face and I smile.

- Why would I bother? - I ask amused and he smiles.

- Because you run away from me like the devil runs away from the cross. - he answers with the same tone and I bite my lower lip to try to contain the laughter.

I see Pandora smirking discreetly as she sips some of her cappuccino, and I can't help but notice the way she holds her china cup.

I think she must have taken etiquette lessons.

I'm sure of it.

- I think it's time to be a little more sociable with you. I say and the surprised expression on her face makes me frantically wiggle my eyebrows and it makes him smile.

- Great, because I'm a nice guy, at least I think. - James says excitedly and then looks at the other three figures silently on the table. - I'm right? - he asks with an amused expression.

- Very cool. says Calvin with a shrug.

- More than cool. - Kai says laughing and then James looks at Pandora waiting for an answer from her who keeps chewing as if nothing has happened.

- So Pandorinha? - Asks James trying to get the blonde's attention by squeezing her cheek that looks at him.

She finishes chewing and then arches an eyebrow, wiping her mouth with a napkin as he watches her expectantly.

-Very ...-she starts to answer him more soon then makes a dramatic pause and smiles in the corner. - Very annoying and silly too. She says and he rolls his eyes. -But I don't think it's in a bad way, besides he's a good listener and he's open to new possibilities, so he's a good idiot. - complete and James grinned knowing that this was a compliment after all and he couldn't expect more than that from her.

- I love your affectionate way of expressing yourself. - James says laughing and Pandora smiles.

- I'm awesome, I know that, but you don't have to declare your love for me out loud. - the blonde mocks and I'm confused by how much they seem to know each other longer than imagined.

- How long have you known each other exactly? I ask unable to contain my curiosity.

- Since she moved. - James replies immediately. - She helped me with my car when it broke down in the middle of the road when I was coming back from my dad's house a few days before school started. - She completes and I look at the blonde who nods confirming the boy's story.

- So you also understand cars? - asks Calvin and Pandora nods looking at him. - Damn, it's not enough to be beautiful, have a killer look, understand things nerds and sports, you also had to know how to fix cars. - Says it all in one breath and the blonde smiles. - The world is a really unfair place. - full fun and Pandora laughs nodding.

- I also do magic. - Says the blonde, still laughing as I watch her in silence noticing James looking at me from the corner.

- Do a trick for us then. - asks Kai curiously and then Pandora looks at James who returns the confused look.

- What's it ? - He asks and the blonde continues to stare at him for a few more seconds.

- You should check where your keys are. says Pandora, taking the cup of her drink and then bringing it to her lips as I realize I haven't even touched my chocolate frappuccino yet.

Thank God it's a cold drink, because if it were the other way around, I would have lost the fun of drinking it after all this time.

- Shit, don't tell me they're with you. - James says smiling looking at Pandora who smiles and then turns to me.

- What is your favorite flower? - he asks me and I get confused.

- I don't know, I never thought about it. -I reply confused and she smiles as she takes something from her pants pocket.

- Give me your hand. - you ask and I do it. - Everything is a matter of perception. - She says putting a seed in my hand. - This is a gardenia seed, it has several meanings, but there is a kind of story about it that I really like and maybe one day I will tell. - completes with an expression of amusement as she closes my hand.

- I am not understanding anything. - I hear Kai say laughing, but I can't take my eyes off hers, not when she seems to be having fun internally with something I would love to know.

- Ready to see my magic skills? - He asks amusedly and I nod.

She pulls her hand away from mine allowing me to open my hand and when I do I am surprised to see a rose, I look at Pandora as I hear the boys mutter something in surprise and before I can say anything Pandora closes my hand and a few seconds later she opens it and the rose is no longer there, now there was a lily, the blonde closes my hand again while I feel too surprised to say anything now and seeing a sunflower in my hand this time, I just smile in awe.

- That's the last one. - says Pandora closing my hand again and then I feel a good smell.

- Are you feeling it? - Kai asks and Calvin nods.

- It smells like the jasmine flower. - James replies looking confused and then Pandora opens my hand revealing a flower that I hadn't seen around here yet, but which curiously reminds me of another flower.

- This is the gardenia flower, also known as cape jasmine. - Says the blonde and I smile. - Here's your keys  good idiot. - completes Pandora taking something behind my ear and I roll my eyes when I see the keys.

- That part of getting the keys behind her ear was worthy of a farm magician. - Calvin says laughing and I can't help but laugh, James and Kai also accompany us while Pandora smiles closing my hand and when I open it only the seed is there.

- It's for you. - says Pandora and I look at her. - It might be useful to you at some point and my mom says it's lucky to carry the seed in your pocket or plant it in the garden. - complete and I smile nodding.

- Thanks. I say and she nods before going back to her cappuccino.

I look at the seed while Kai, Calvin and James chat excitedly unlike Pandora who drinks her drink in silence with a neutral expression, I sigh putting the seed in my pocket while I think if it would be possible to plant it in my garden, I think I'll need it Petrova's help to do this. I turn my attention to the four people sitting at the table with me and smile as I notice how different each one is from the other, but they all seem to be comfortable sharing the same table and enjoying each other's company.

I think maybe we can all be friends.

Maybe even a Squad.
