Kanu, given the position he held within the White Rose, often had to oversee the new recruits. However, he wasn’t exactly used to teaching them how to wield weapons.

His job wasn’t to turn them into master swordsmen or expert fighters. Instead, he was there to guide them in using their new forms.

When someone turned into an Altered, more often than not, they didn’t get to choose what Altered form they received.

And because of that, a lot of conflicting things would happen. The fighting styles they’d trained in before didn’t always match with what their new bodies were capable of.

That was where Kanu came in. His role was to help them fight naturally with their Altered forms. In the end, that’s what would make them stronger.

But when Kanu saw Gary struggling, it felt almost like the opposite problem. Gary was more used to fighting in his Werewolf form, now, he was forcing himself to rely on a weapon.
