Twenty four

Damnon.



" Why do I have to do this, again?" I was displeased with the change of plans. I was expecting a cozy flight with Liv by my side this morning but then dear, Sabastian... had to ruin it by saying we had an important meeting with the higher ups. Why couldn't they wait for a Monday. It was a weekend!



Right now it was already 9 am and I was still seated in my office waiting for the important people to finish settling down first. At this rate I would reach the place late deep in the night. 



I was worried Liv would get lost even though I had sent zarke to go pick her up at the airport, I didn't trust anyone else, I was still worried sick.



" Your presence is highly demanded in such meetings." Sabastian emphasized in his gentle voice. He checked his watch before saying " come, am sure they are already settled." He added on to lead the way and I gladly rose up and followed. 



We both walked through the empty halls before reaching the conference room. The place was slightly empty because it was a weekend.



The shareholders were already settled comfortably asif they were the gods, Sheila and Tania were also seated there. 



" Morning" I greeted an emotionless 'morning' before taking a seat. I had managed to stay calm despite the ulgy thoughts of Liv running through my mind. They all responded simultaneously to my greeting. " So can someone explain to me why this meeting was brought up?" I asked trying so hard to keep my cool. My mind was thinking only about how Liv must be worried and scared. 



" Damnon, the designs that were published in the magazine under a different brand were our designs. We are wondering why you haven't sued them yet?" One of the shareholders started. His expression showed he was disappointed with my lack of immediate response to the issue. 



" Those designs were worth millions." Another added. 



" Am working on it." I said simply. " Is that all?" I asked. Confused looks made way to their faces but I didn't care. I wanted this meeting ended as soon as possible.



" Damnon, it seems you are not taking the matter seriously." 



" I said am working on it. I don't have to announce to the company my plans. All I can say now is that, I have to got the situation handled " I gave a harmless smile afterwards. The shareholders and directors shared a glance between themselves before looking back at me. They were clearly unsatisfied. 



" Damnon-" 



" If you are going to ask about the designs, then don't. Monday morning, turn on your televisions and watch what happens. You can buy the same magazine the designs were published in and read the updates." I cut in on one of the shareholders. 



" how about you talk to the company lawyer to get a fair charge of the loss. " these men were annoying. I knew what I was doing. It wasn't my first time running a company.



" I don't need your advice on how to run a company. Or on how to deal with the matters at hand." I said straightforward. " You will get results," I added. They went silent for only a moment before...



" Another thing we called this meeting for was to ask you to employ someone else who is more educated to replace the head of the marketing team. This company has been running for a few years now and it's not yet to the glory desired." The first shareholder who spoke said. 



" Yvonne is good, we could hire her." Tania suggested. 



" I will handle it when I get back." I said and looked up at the clock on the wall. It was almost 30 minutes past 9. " Anything else?" 



" Your answers don't satisfy us." 



" oh! Am sorry I didn't get a heads-up on what flavor you wanted my replies to come with for your satisfaction." I said dramatically. " If you would please excuse me, I have a flight to reach. Have a great day. If there is any other question you have, Sabastian will handle it." I said while rising up to my feet. I left afterwards. 



Immediately I entered the elevator, and the doors were shut . I vanished into thin air. This was an emergency. I needed to get to Liv as soon as possible.



I appeared in my room, grabbed the stuff I had parked before vanishing again to appear in a rest room stall of the airport. 



I got out and went straight to boarding a plane. I would have just used my powers to reach Tokyo but I had to keep a low profile on my identity and my species. I couldn't say I appeared in the city just like that, it would create alot of suspicion which I didn't need right now.



By exactly 10 am the plane took off into the sky heading for the great city of Japan.



I arrived at the city after about 13hrs and fifteen minutes. 



It was just a few minutes past midday in Tokyo. 

After clearing out, I went to the rest room and vanished. 



I appeared in the hotel we had booked for the scheduled meeting that was to take place in the morning. 



"Reservation for beauty?" I asked the receptionist " Damnon" I added. I scanned the lobby for a scared, lonely Liv but she wasn't there which meant she was safe in her room. Zarke must have done well.



" Let me check, we have Damnon Williams?" She asked to confirm from me. Williams is the name I started using along time ago when I was still living with Isaac. But now, the sound of it made it weird for me. 



" Yes" I replied curtly. " Has Liv Williams arrived yet?" I asked my main concern. 



" Yes she is well settled in her room opposite your room as requested." She smiled and handed me a key card to my room. I gave a weak smile back before heading straight for the elevator. With the look she gave me, I realized that she thought me and Liv were a married couple with issues. 



I so much wanted to use my ability but the elevator had some people in. I was anxious about how Liv was coping up with everything. Was she worried?



When I reached our floor, the first thing I did was knock lightly on her room door. Using my super hearing, I heard some rustling and rumbling noises coming from inside before her light footsteps started for the door. Was someone trying to put her down,?



" Liv, are you alright?" I called her worried. 



" Oh hey Damnon?" She breathed my name on opening the door. She looked anxious to see me. Her heart was racing loud enough for me to here. 



" Are you okay?" I asked and walked into her room. She let me in with much quarrel.



" Yeah ,yeah am very fine." She replied from behind me. 



" Was someone inside here with you?" I asked. She didn't reply for a few seconds making me look at her over my shoulder. " Liv?" I demanded an answer.
