Damnon 2
The next day, both Liv and I went to meet the Japanese clients. I gave Liv details on what we were going to do and talk about. She understood faster than I expected. And for some unknown reason she seemed bright today.
Anyway, I hired a translator for Liv because I needed to concentrate on the meeting to understand what these guys wanted exactly.
They were making a movie that was ancient related and they needed our products. The benefits looked good and beneficial to get from a movie. I still needed some argument to be brewed up.
" Don't you have a Japanese company that can do it? Am sure there are excellent ones out there." I asked in Japanese after the man's presentation. Liv kicked my leg after sometime when the translator had explained to her what I said
" Don't be rude" she whispered roughly to me. I was seated close to her so I heard it well but choose to ignore her.
" It's a mixture of both American and Japanese characters and themes. We need your creativity and we heard good things about your products, from the make up to the shoes." The presenter spoke convincingly. The others sat there waiting for my reply.
" I don't like the offer." I said simply and sat back on my seat. Liv pitched me.
" Damnon what are you doing?" She asked me. I smiled at her. Non of her attacks inflected any pain on me, that's why I didn't react but ignore her. Liv was being too soft with the matter. I wanted to see if I could squeeze some more out of these guys.
" Mr Damnon, sir we offered 30% profit for your contribution." The man seated next to the board where the projector's light hit said. The presenter lean in on the table waiting for my say.
" You flew me all the way from Manhattan to Toyko to offer only 30%?" I made it sound like a joke. The presenter's mouth twitched.
" and advertisment for your products through out the movie. I don't see why you need morethan that." That sounded something I would go with
" Those items are going to be worth alot after the movie is published." I reasoned. Liv put her hand on my thigh and squeezed it lightly. I enjoyed this.
" Damnon" Liv whispered to me very harshly I could feel her sharp breath hit behind my ear. I froze again. " The deal is great." She reasoned.
" 40" I said quickly recovering from my state to have them shake their heads in disapproval. That was alot but, I had to try.
" Don't mind him, we will take the offer." Liv suddenly agreed. The translator spoke to the guys explaining what she said.
" Liv...!" I called her name softly and was about to explain when she cut in.
" It's only a movie, you can't want alot out of it." She argued." Besides, they provided the transport, accommodation, and 30% interest from the show.just accept the deal already!." She added. Seems she has been doing her research on the deal. I had explained to her but not that far.
" Liv you don't understand..." I wanted to say something. I was using the same soft voice but...
" no I do understand and I like their offer, I approve." She said firmly. She crossed are arms and leaned back on her chair. She swirled alittle to both sides. She left no room for more argument.
" Am the boss here." She added and hesitated before adding
" You are just my tutor" she finally looked at me at that last statement. Her eyes shining with guilt.
" So what is your final decision.?" They asked. They seemed alot confident now, the shameless translator had translated the whole argument. I looked at Liv as the translator whispered the information she needed to know before answering.
" Send the contract to my email, I will go through it, have a lawyer go through it before signing." I concluded. I was hurt with what Liv said earlier but I didn't show it. At some point she was right, but wrong to.
I was the temporary CEO now. What I say goes, she was just my student. I will be boss til I said she was ready.
" Do you have some specific designs you would like, or you want us to make the designs ourselves?" I asked as I turned my gaze back to the clients.
" Yes, here is a file," they handed me one and gave Liv another one. "They have all the designs needed"
" These look good, do need any specific material to be used on the items?." I asked as I scanned through the different items. There were cloths, bags, shoes of specific designs and make ups they desired.
" All the movies and measurements required are written there. I was hoping they would be ready in two months." The man seated opposite me said.
" Do you mind if I change a few things? I mean the cloths seem amazing, but they need some....I don't know, I want to exaggerate it more. Alot of the cloths used in most ancient based movies seem dull and black. It would be great if you added alittle color to it. But it will still be the same old design." Liv gave her opinion.
" We want those specifically." The presenter emphasized.
" Alright, but think about it. This could make your movie excellent and quite rare since not many of them do so. It would have a bit of modern taste to it." Liv tried to convince them. I admired the way she came up with such a great idea in a blink of an eye. " Look at this" she got the tablet that was seated lazily on the table and sketched something on it. Added abit of color to it. It took about two minutes to get the picture together. It looked amazing, I had to admit.
The top armour was blue with black stripes cutting round it a few times. The armour trousers were black and designed with blue metal bits. The gloves having the same combination. It was simple but beautiful.
" I know most of the guys in the past had dull colors to blend in the dark when fighting, how about we make it alittle duller" she added a shade of dark blue to the drawing as she spoke.
" Look, this may look out of place but attractive aswell. You might sell the movie faster and the ratings may just go over the roof." Liv looked determined to sell the colored product. She had just taken the design and added a bit of color to it and minor change.
The clients looked at each other on the last words that left the translator's lips. They whispered among themselves trying to get to a conclusion.
" Could you give us five minutes." One of them said before moving out to make a call.
