"What do you mean by that?" Aurora was forced to ask.

Selene shook her head while avoiding Aurora's gaze.

That reaction had Aurora smelling the presence of something fishy. "I really want to know what you meant by that." 

"I meant nothing by that. I only wanted to see your reaction," Selene replied with a forced hint of mockery.

"Are you trying to tease me and hurt my feelings? I was actually supposed to get married to a handsome man who loves me more than his own life," Aurora narrated sadly.

"You know that is a lie, right? An assassin who has spent all her life getting ready to kill my king will only have a fiancé for a shield away from her real plan. Which I must say is very unnecessary.

"There was no reason for you to have done that. It was unnecessary unless your uncle had other plans," Selene told her seriously.

Aurora raised her head and looked at Selene where she(Selene) stood with her(Selene) hands folded on her chest.
