LXXV: bitten

She was forced to pause and sniff again when the aroma did not reduce or disappear since she could not see the food that gave off such inviting aroma.

She shook her head and continued forward unwilling to let the grumbling in her stomach and the hunger she felt hold her back from possibly the only chance she could have to escape.

She froze when she heard approaching footsteps. She glanced back and ran to the door and tried to push and pull it open but the door remained fixed in its post. 

"Oh come on," she groaned in frustration. Why are things not going as smoothly as she imagine it to go – opening the door and finding her way down the balcony to escape?

She gave up when she turned to see the door get slowly pushed forward. She decided to find a comfortable place to rest her legs with her eyes fixed on the smooth marble floor.

"You don't look too good, are you okay?" a deep male voice had her raising her head to look at its owner.
