The Recon Mission

William was done wrapping the gifts that he sneakingly brought into the house very late in the night. He was able to avoid the others on patrol and get it into his room and wrapped them quietly. He then used a crowbar that he found in Eric's workshop and open a plank of wood where he hid the gifts for Christmas. He got their presents ready ahead of time so that it would not break his focus while handling his wolf duties and avoid the present rush at gift stores. He flipped on his bed and went to sleep as Eric and his father had devised a plan for the rival pack.

"Do you really think that we can pull off what Eric is planning?" Connor asked inquisitively.

"Well I don't know what the plan is considering that he and my dad haven't been seen in the past seven hours but I suspect that it's going to be a daring plan that we can handle" William replied confidently as he eat a spoon of cereal.

"I do hope it won't be too tasking tho, I have some other things to do" Connor said as he poured coffee into his mug

"Don't you think you're a little bit young for coffee?" Keisha asked walking into the room with a bathing robe.

"Well, when you have anime to watch and things to do online, you need something to keep you awake" Connor said taking a sip out of his coffee.

"You mean wasting time playing games and taking hacking classes that you will never use" Brian corrected with a cough.

"Oh quiet Brian. If you need me, I'll be upstairs" Connor snapped back walking up the stairs.

"Don't you think energy drinks would be better?" Echoed Will as Connor stormed up the stairs and into one of the many guest rooms in the house.

"Well, I guess he's decided coffee's the best" Keisha said as she tried to gain the attention of the two boys.

"Oh, morning Keisha" Brian said.

"Morning Keisha" William followed as both didn't take notice to her arrival.

"Yes you finally noticed me. How were your nights?" She asked the two.

"Cold as usual but he hanging in there" Brian replied as he dumped his dish in the kitchen sink.

"Yh what Brian said" as William stuffed his mouth with his cereal.

"Glad to here that, I'm going to wake the others up" Keisha stated as she poured herself a glass of orange juice and exited the kitchen.

"Okay" William and Brian chorused.

"Everyone, gather round. We have a plan for the neighbours that's sure to get their attention" Brody stated assertively as the pack gathered around Brody and Eric.

"This is the layout of the entire of the forest including the boundary between the two packs" Eric explained.

"We've decided to take an offensive approach to their actions rather than sitting and waiting for them to come and attack again cuz we're bringing the fight to them. We've noted that they have scouts positioned at our border with them at the rocky hill and forest thicket watching our every move. Ethan, Mary, William and Connor, you guys do what you'd normally do when on patrol while Brody, Miranda, Kent and I would I dentist and take down the scouts effectively. Once they've been taken down, Brody, Miranda, William and I would make our way into boulder territory, we can't afford mistakes so we're taking the best of the best. Brian, Keisha, make sure you don't let their scouts escape or get the word out so you'll have to guard them. Linda would be in charge while we are away so you can storm her with any of your questions. Janet, Mary and Ethan, you guys keep a lookout if you see any boulder members coming to check up on the scouts, take em down and tie them up. Once we've made our way in, well split up into two groups. Miranda would team up with William and Brody would back me up. We'll go around their territory, surveying the area for clues that we can use against them for another phase of our plan. Listen in for any important conversations that could prove crucial to who would win the territory war. Once we've scouted the whole area and gotten the information we need we shall leave their turf and return to base. Before they get to suspicious, we'll release the scouts which would tell them that they were ambushed, beaten and tied up. If all goes well, the information gotten will be put to good use in the next phase." Eric explained not excluding any detail. The others took their instructions to heart and would do as they were told as Connor seemed to take down some notes.

"We all know what to do?" Eric asked confidently.

"Sir, yes sir!" They all chorused.

"Now let's move out" Eric said leading the way. He led the pack down the stairs and into the woods and turning into werewolves.

They moved quickly as the twelve wolves ran as a team not breaking ranks. They ground vibrated as they moved swiftly through the trees and to the border. William, Connor, Ethan and Mary got into position and did their daily rounds and tried their best not to give off to the opposition that they were being watched by other pack members. The scouts came out as they did, two in total and watched their movements but what they didn't know was that they had been spotted and were about to get taken out. Brody and Eric watched Mary and Ethan while Miranda and Kent kept watch over William and Connor. Eric and Brian went around Ethan and Mary to get closer to the scout. They came about from opposite sides and closed in on the scout. They were able to blend in well into the snow and made it close enough to cause a diversion as they had their scents masked by that of a deer. They had gotten deer blood dipped in cloth and rubbed it all over their fur to mask it so that they won't be detected. Eric and Brody had the scout surrounded as Eric caused a distraction by barking at the scout making his head turn as Brody would pounce on him and knock him out. Miranda and Kent did the same thing too as they easily took down the scout. Keisha and Brian dragged the two deeper into the forest o be tied up by Linda and guarded. As Miranda, Eric, Brody and William prepared for the infiltration part of their plan. Ethan, Mary and Janet kept watch over the area incase and scout from the boulder pack would emerge to check on the scouts.

"How you holding up Will?" Brian asked his comrade.

"I'm holding up pretty well" he replied nervously. He was very nervous that he would mess up and scatter the plan so he was kind of sweaty.

"Don't worry Will, you'll be fine" Connor said as he nudged his right hind leg.

"Yh, just make sure you come back in one piece for me, okay?" Keisha inquired.

"I will" he said with confidence and a little bit more assurance.

"Will, you ready?" His father asked.

"I sure am dad's Will replied walking away from his friends and towards his dad.

"That's great to hear" he responded.

"You two better not get in trouble, I don't want to lose any of my boys" Janet said as she rubbed her against the two.

"Don't worry mom, we'll be alright" William replied before getting called by Eric and Miranda.

They said their goodbyes before the four of them ran into boulder territory. They climbed the rocks and went into boulder turf. The four stuck closely together as they entered the unguarded areas of their turf. They got two kilometres deep before splitting up into the two groups. Brody and Eric went left while Miranda and William went right. Eric Brody and the others covered most of their fur with snow to give them more of a white outlook to blend in better with the snow. They weaved their way through the thicket of trees and stumbled upon two members of the boulder pack that were taking a stroll. They were able to find some bushes and heaps of snow to hide behind. They laid and waited as they walked away not detecting them do to the smell of deer all over their body. As soon as they got a good distance away, they continued to survey the area taking notes that could prove pivotal in the days ahead. Miranda and William on the other hand ran swiftly but as silent as possible through the snow. The area that they had to deal with had a lot of spaced trees and bushes with some plain areas here and they. It was crucial that they had to blend in or risk being caught. Where they ran through was mostly even terrain With a slight elevations and descents here and there. All was going well until they came upon a hunting party that was in the middle of decapitating a deer. Knockout and Will quickly laid unto the snow taking cover as they tried to blend in. They crawled up to some bushes to cover their coats more as they watched them dine.

"Savages, they won't even kill the deer but eat it alive like a bunch of wild dogs" William stated in utter disgust.

"Yep, gruesome bunch of rascals. Won't end the poor animals life to end all its suffering. They'll rather have it bleed to death than kill it at once" Miranda replied annoyed the the scene they had to watch.

They hoped that Eric and Brody were making more progress than them. The came up to a steep hill climb that was unavoidable as they had Blake and two others heading in their direction. With no debate, they ascended up only to find Caleb and Brian at the summit discussing plans on taking over their turf. The two listened closely from the bushes and hot all the details of their plans. The two finished and descended down the hill not noticing that they were being watched or listened to. As they walked away, the two decided to climb down where Eric hit some rocks attracting some attention but they thought it might have been a fox or some other forest animal. On the other hand Miranda and William had escaped the hunters and continued their survey noticing that they had two hills in a distance, an elevated plain and two valleys. They were able to meet up with Eric and Brody at the Northern part of their turf.

"How did it go guys?" Brody asked.

"It was pretty good. We were able to get some useful information that we'll talk about better when we're in the comfort of our territory" Miranda said a bit tensed.

"Yh, let's get going shall we?" Brody motioned as the four proceeded to leave the area making their way south to their home turf.

Meanwhile back on Hamsterly territory, Brian, Kent and Keisha stood guard around where the two scouts were detained while Janet, Mary looked out for more boulder pack scouts. Linda was handling everything as the other alpha was away.theg hoped that the others were doing okay and awaited them to return.

The slick mission that Brody and Eric hoped for was impossible to achieve as they hoped that the boulder pack guys would get a hold of their tracks when they had already exited their turf but fate had other plans. They picked up their tracks and announced it to the others to be on high alert as they looked for the intruders. Blake, Caleb and Daren were surprised that the Hamsterly pack could pull something as daring as this off. The pressure continued to mount as the boulder pack wolves got closer and closer to the fleeing Hamsterly pack wolves. More than half of the pack were on their tail as they ran towards the border. William was able to catch a glimpse of Caleb, Daren and Blake as they chased through their own part of the forest. The four of them hauled ads as they weaved their way through the trees, logs and rocks. The boulder pack chased desperately as they wanted to retaliate for what had happened to their two hospitalised members. When the others at home heard the howl, they knew that they were in trouble, they only prayed that they wouldn't get caught. William was the fastest out of the four as Eric was left at the pack of the group. They ploughed through the snow as they tried not to get caught by the fourteen boulder pack members. Brody ran into a trap set by two scouts as one leaped from the side and tried to pin him down. Brody was quick to react easily beating up the scout, regaining his posture and get back up to speed following the others. They were able to out smart and outrun the boulder pack as they made it back successfully back to their territory. Once they crossed the border, they were so happy as all four of them collapsed out of exhaustion. None of them had ever had to run like that before in their life's before. Once they recovered they made their way back to base to give the details of their recon mission as they let the two basters scouts run with their tail in-between their legs. It was truly a daring act that paid well in the end. They've been able to get vital information on the enemy pack that would help in the upcoming battle against them and would help turn the tide of war.
