Being Late Seals One's Fate

"Right you've heard what's going on and what's at stake, we can't afford to lose anyone, not today" William said with a commanding voice as he naturally took the lead on this matter.

"The best thing I can say is that we split up. One person should go help Mary and Ethan out since Linda is already on her way there and the other three go help the rest fight of those vampires" Brian stated.

"Seems like a good plan"

"I'll go help Mary and Ethan, the rest of you can go help the others" Connor said hesitantly.

"Alright, let's move" William said as the four split up into two.

Connor bolted ahead to help Ethan and Mary and may even meet up with Linda on the way while Will, Rammstone and Keisha would help the vampire squad.

Ethan had his neck in the jaws of the enemy and if he let him get a good grip on his neck that'd be the end of him. He instinctively wiggled his neck in his jaws as he tried to escape and used his front paws to scratch the enemy and used his hind legs to fend off the other that was coming to add to his pain. Mary saw the trouble Ethan was in and rushed to help him neglecting the the two other wolves that were hot on their tail. She leaped in he air as if she was being propelled by a rocket and locked onto the leaders neck and used her momentum to lift him off Ethan to give him a breather. The two regrouped as they prepared to engage the enemy four again.

"It seems you're experience is the only thing keeping you alive" The leader said proudly.

"That's what ones after fighting wolves that have bigger balls than you" Mary lashed back.

"Hehehehehe" The alpha laughed.

"Don't get cocky, just because you haven't died now doesn't mean you'll survive the next five minutes"

"You bet? Cuz as far as I'm concerned, we can keep on going way longer than that" Ethan said breathing heavily.

"Says the person that was about to die if not for little goodie two shoes that saved you just in the nick of time"

"That was a mistake and it won't happen again" Ethan said with more confidence as the ground began to vibrate a little and the sound of something coming towards them got closer and closer.

As the four wondered what was coming, Linda popped out of the bushes prepared to remove some fur from their backs.

"Seems the tables have turned" Ethan said cunningly.

"One person doesn't prove anything and as far as I'm concerned it's more people to kill" the alpha said before he launched himself at Ethan.

Ethan met the leader with a strong swipe sending him to the ground and he immediately capitalised on the situation and pounced on him. Mary charged at another as well leaving Linda two wolves to handle as she was more experienced in combat than they were.

"Well what are you waiting for, won't you come at me? Or are you to scared?" Linda questioned them as her confidence seemed to scare them a bit.

A normal wolf wouldn't display as much confidence when going against two others. The two were scared and nudged one another to go in first but neither seemed to go on.

"If that's the case, then I'll come to you!" Linda exclaimed as she charged at them hitting both on the head with a strong swipe and used her head to charge through both of them.

Linda's presence helped to turn the tide of the battle and when Connor arrives, it would seal the deal for them.

Miranda, Eric, Brent and Kent were engaged in a tough battle with the vampires with all four fighting back to back so that the vampires couldn't get a grip on either securing their safety for now. Armin and Rex were having fun knocking the alpha all around like a punching bag but the urge to stay alive and face of his wife and daughter gave him enough motivation to get back on his feet over and over and to even launch attacks at them though it wasn't that effective as he only managed to land two hits on them both. Miranda was locked in battle with Tasha and a minion of hers with Miranda staying around her son to keep him safe both the pressure from the two seemed to great for her to cover him. Kent was soloing two vampires as the lessons thought to him from Miranda was all that was keeping him alive. Brent was holding his own against the two pure bloods that fought against him land two bites but it wasn't enough to keep them at bay as they overpowered him over and over. The pressure put on the wolves from the vampires was able to crack their back to back strategy separating them and opening them up to new attacks from the side and behind.

They hoped at the back of their minds that William and the others would arrive soon. Eric attempted a swipe at Re buy he was quick to dodge ducking and rolling to the side and Armin gave a drop kick to Eric's head as he rolled on his side. When he lifted his head up he saw Rex standing above him attempting to stomp on his head til it bursts open but Eric moved his head to the side avoiding the oncoming leg and clamped down on it drawing blood and shook Rex violently like a rag doll. When Armin attempted to save his friend, he was hit through the air like a stone thrown at a bird by the body of his friend. He hit a tree and when he staggered up Rex's body came flying in at him doing a whole lot of damage to the both of them.

"Man I really hate these dogs" Rex said rolling of Armin's body.

"Tell me about it" Armin replied in pain.

They had to get back up to their feet quickly as Eric came flying in jaws first to get some more hits in. Kent grabbed one vampire by the hand and threw him head first through a tree that norrowly missed Brent when it came down. He was then punched away in the ribs by the other vampire cracking them on impact. Kent was obviously in pain as he whinnied on the ground but thanks to his fast healing it would heal quick enough to get back in the fight. Once the vampires saw the damaged they'd done, one grabbed the other by the shirt and trouser and launched him at Kent to possibly destroy the bones and damage his internal organs to kill him but the attempt proved futile as Kent was quick to react and move away in the nick of time and the torpedo of a vampire smashed through a large rock situated in the area. That'll keep him down for a while. The other vampire rushed Kent lifting Jim up his front paws and onto his hind feet. This opened up enough room for the vampire to land strong blows to the already damaged ribcage neutralising the healing that was already taking place. Kent in pain but down on his shoulders but it proved futile in stopping him and he got fed up and angled himself and clamped down on the head like a vice crushing his skull. Kent had taken alot of damage from the punches and started to feel dizzy and staggered before dropping down on the ground open to attacks and the vampire turned torpedo stood up from the rubble and had killer intent in his eyes. Brent saw this and the thought of him losing his friends flashed before his eyes and he knew he couldn't let it happen with his mom and Eric being held up in battle. He tanked a punch and ran towards Kent to protect him as the vampire carried a massive rock to smash his skull. Brent was being chased by two other vampires and they closed in fast but Brent just had a little edge over them and got to his friends body in time using his head to ram the stone carrying devil into the air and another grabbed onto his tail and Brent launched him into the air to meet his demonic brother in the sky as they slammed into eachother. The stage was set as Brent stood in the way of three vampires from killing his friend. The vampires licked their lips as a two for one package lined up Infront of them and they were eager to sink their teeth into their bodies but then help finally arrived. William, Keisha and Brian burst through the bushes immediately engaging the three in front of Brent.

"Don't worry man we've got your back" William assured as the surprised vampires were now on the receiving end of a wolf assault.

"Thanks guys" Brent said with a sigh of relief as he stood guard over Kent's body.

Miranda and Eric were now received that reinforcements had arrived and that allowed them to go all out in the fight rather than conserve energy and wait for them to arrive.

Miranda's battle with Tasha intensified as she was throwing boulder crushing punches at her with the intent to kill. Her back up wanted to join her but she ordered him to back off and pick a fight with another wolf. She continued swinging her fists as she broke through bark, rock and anything her fists landed on and Miranda was able to dodge the blows time and time again displaying her remarkable agility. This allowed her to sweep Tasha of her feet with her claws tearing her brand new jeans.

"Now you're going to pay you mutt!" Screamed Tasha as her clothes got torn.

She chased after Miranda and mistimed a punch allowing Miranda to latch onto her fist and threw her through a tree dislocating her shoulder. Tasha slowly stood up holding her shoulder in pain. When she stood to her feet her anger was shown and intentions were very clear. She relocated her shoulder and and closed her fist extending all of them to the max before being coiled up. Miranda knew that she would have to be extra careful facing her now. Tasha got her footing and launched herself at Miranda who got caught and Tasha locked around her neck and spun her into a tree. Miranda tried to shake her off but Tasha's grip tightened around her neck. Brent seeing what was about to befall his mother, he quickly tore off the vampires hand that was before him and threw his body away to bless out as he ran quickly to his mother's aid. He jumped up and held Tasha's neck flinging her away from his mother. Now that she was free, Miranda barked at Brent to back off but Brent didn't listen and went ahead to continue fighting Tasha.

"It seems these dogs are connected. It'd be a shame if I end one of them and it seems that the one that couldn't listen would be the one to die" Tasha said demonically.

Brent jumped in but Tasha reacted quickly and moved back avoiding his jaws. She tried to punch him but he was light on his feet moving away. This was a dance of death that Brent had to play carefully.

Elsewhere, Connor had finally arrived the fight and they were dominating the fight at last. Ethan and the alpha were locked in combat with teeth being sunk into eachother and claws tearing at one another. Ethan got a powerful slap that sent him rolling on the ground. He stood up angrily as his hair seemed to stand up straight now and he charged at him going for the neck to deliver the final blow. Ethan hit him to the side to open his opponent's neck up to be bitten down on but the alpha was quick to cover as he read Ethan's intention clearly. He upped his defence and his reflexes were now twice as fast as he starred at death in the face. Ethan rushed him head on hitting his front paws to sweep Jim of his feet but he jumped back to avoid it before running at Ethan. The two rolled on the floor biting and scratching one another and the alpha was tricked into going in for a lunge and Ethan capitalised on his exposed neck and Ethan bit down locking his jaws to kill him. The alpha whinnied as he begged for mercy.

"Please, spare me and I promise, we would never come into this territory again please..... I beg of you" The alpha pleaded as he was now short of breath and slowly began to lose his grasp on life.

What was pitiful and let him go. "Never show your face again or I won't be so merciful the next time I catch a whiff of your pathetic scent" Ethan replied.

"Anything you say" the alpha replied with a bow before howling to tell his wolves that it was time to leave.

Marry and the others sent them away with marks that was sure to keep them thinking about anytime they dared to step foot into this place again. Once the wolves left, they took of like sprinters in a hundred metres race and headed to where the others fought the vampires hoping that they weren't too late.

Brent flew across the air after receiving a punch from Tasha.

"Is that the best you got mutt?" Tasha asked as she cracked her knuckles to give him another one.

Brent stood up to his feet slowly and charged back at her only to be punches in the head again. Tasha's strength was truly something as it seemed unrivalled by the others except for the technique and accuracy of Armin and Rex. Miranda seeing her son getting beat up like that went on the offensive once again to save her son jumping on Tasha biting and scratching her the best she could but it wasn't enough. Tasha simply threw her away as she was set on killing Brent. Miranda got back to her feet and used all her strength to give Tasha a real hit that sent her across that battle field. Miranda was flared up and no one had ever seen her angry before but what can you say, it's a mother and her child.

"Well it seems you still have some fight left in ya. Let's see if it would be enough to save your boy" Tasha said with wicked smile on her face.

The two charged at eachother with Miranda landing the first hit sending Tasha back but her boots held firmly to the ground. She went on the defensive as Miranda launched bite and swipe attacks at her and she was able to save her body but not her clothes from Miranda's wrath. This annoyed Tasha and she gave a strong kick to Miranda which dislocated her shoulder and almost completely shattered it this made her to howl in pain and once it reaches the ears of Brent he stood up quickly from his position to his mother's aid. At this moment, Linda, Connor, Mary and Ethan appeared and went to the others aid. Connor stood guard over Kent's exhausted body while Linda went to aid her husband and Mary and Ethan dispatched themselves to whoever needed help. Ethan tried to help Brent take Tasha down but was swatted away like a fly and the backlash from the fight he had earlier on really affected him and he couldn't get back up. Brent was fighting tooth and claw to keep Tasha away but nothing worked, her determination was just too much for him to handle she lined him up for her final blow, the neck breaker, this would snap his neck and would be an instant kill. Miranda witnessed what was going to be the end of her son but couldn't accept it, he had his life ahead of him and wouldn't let anyone take it away from him. So with her last strength, she got up and ran to him. Tasha took position to end Brent's life but didn't notice Miranda steaming towards her and as her arm extended to punch him, Miranda dove through the air to save him. Brent couldn't believe what was about to happen and only one word came out from his mouth-

"MOM!!!!!!"

And with that, the sound of bones snapping fell upon the ears of everyone and the unbelievable had occured
