1v1

Although there were only two opponents left, Li Xin felt as if the situation wasn't advantageous towards him. After all, Bing Qiling, Ru Shi, and Tong Guo were dead. It was two against two and Xiao Hua was too far from him.

Lancer immediately turned around and headed towards Pastel's direction. Since he had just fought earlier, his location was revealed to his opponents. And they most likely found out that Pastel was nowhere near him and was looking for her.

Lancer grimaced, the amount of time he would have to use to get to Pastel was too long. He was considering leaving Pastel alone until he was remembered that he would have to work as a team. But that rule was long broken.

"Xiao Hua!" Li Xin communicated through the microphone. "Are you there?"

"Yes, I'm here." Xiao Hua replied. "Do you need help?"

"No, let's meet up in the middle. It's better if we're together since we'll be able to take them on as a team and not by ourselves. It'll increase the chance of us winning."

"Okay, do you want me to come over right now?"

"Please do, we don't know when they'll come at us. I'll talk to you once we meet up, until then, be careful."

"You too."

Li Xin was glad that Xiao Hua was easy to work with, he couldn't imagine having the same talk with Tong Guo or Bing Qiling. They were people who didn't bother listening to actual tactics and did whatever they wanted. Li Xin sighed, having an ego that's too high is a bad thing.

Nonetheless, Li Xin didn't mind. He's faced and dealt with people like that before. That's when he realized the players weren't much different from the players from SpaceCraft 2. Although the Pure Aim players were more skilled, SpaceCraft 2 players were more intelligent.

When Lancer had met up with Pastel, their opponents were already waiting for them as if they knew they were going to go there. Lancer frowned, Pastel didn't have as much Mana since she needed to get here as fast as possible. He was still fine since Lancers mostly depended on Stamina than Mana.

"It seems like they're already here." Lancer said to Pastel who was beside him. "What do you think of them?"

Pastel seemed to stare at the two before replying.

"Both of them are BattleMages, however, one of them both use weapons and magic abilities. This means he can attack with the sword and attack with some sort of magic at the same time."

"I see." Lancer muttered. He knew this was going to be hard to win. It wasn't because of the skill difference, but because their Classes were better than theirs. "Are you sure they're Rank D? Cause they sure don't seem like it."

"They are Rank D, but something as trivial as a rank doesn't define one's skill. Don't you think the same?"

"I guess you're right, the guys I fought against earlier were more skilled than I thought. I guess I got lucky."

"Sure, now let's confront them. They're waiting for us anyway."

Lancer and Pastel walked out from the bush they were hiding in. Their opponents seemed to notice them since they were on guard.

"It seems like the two were already here. I apologize, did we make you wait long?" Lancer said with a smirk.

"Nope." the BattleMage whose name was ManaLess said. "You're right on time, though I'll still have to end you."

When ManaLess finished his sentence, he pointed his spear at Lancer. Lancer didn't give a reaction, he was thinking of how to beat his opponent who was a BattleMage that used weapons and magic.

"Should we start the battle already? I'm getting tired of waiting." the other BattleMage named Deviant said.

Li Xin was surprised, not because the BattleMage was someone who was lusting for battle, but the fact that it was a female who was speaking.

"I guess we can start, it's about time we end this." ManaLess said. "Deviant, why don't you take care of the other BattleMage? I'll take on this Lancer."

Lancer laughed. "You're saying you want to take on me by yourself? Don't kid yourself."

"Let's test that shall we?"

Lancer smiled, competitivity and a bit of trash-talking made the game even better. Before Pastel and Deviant started fighting, they were already charging at each other with the spear in their hands.

Lancer jabbed with his spear and aimed at ManaLess's wrist, unfortunately, ManaLess blocked it using the long hilt of the spear. But ManaLess didn't realize it was a combo move and was now falling backward.

Lancer took this chance to try to stab ManaLess multiple times, but ManaLess was able to react quickly and get up from the ground before Lancer could attack.

"Not bad." ManaLess said as he regained his composure.

"You too."

After exchanging words, they charged at each other once again. However, their movements were not so reckless anymore. The first strike was to test each other's strength and realized that their opponent was not to be underestimated.

ManaLess didn't expect Lancer to be this good, after all, he's never heard of this person until now. He knew everyone that was in the same rank as him, but Li Xin was unknown to him.

"Interesting."

*CLING*

A sharp ringing sound could be heard as the tip of their spears clashed against each other and created streaks of sparks. Lancer was about to apply more strength until he saw golden sparks appear on ManaLess's spear.

Instantly, Lancer backed off and was glad that he did. ManaLess's spear was covered in electricity. If he didn't back off, he would've been stunned and most likely would've lost a lot of health.

"Magic and physical attacks? This is troublesome."

"Don't give up now, I still want to test out your strength."

"Why is that?"

"Well, I don't think I've ever seen you play this game before. But despite that, you're pretty good."

"Let's save the small talk for later, we have the battle to finish."

"I agree, we'll talk after the match is over."
