"Are you my brother?"

"What the fu-!? Oh, a kid. No- I uhh, I'm not your brother. Why would you ask me that?" I said out of confusion as I tried to stand up straight and fix my hat. As I did so, I examined the little girl who snuck up on me. She('I think') looked like the same age as me and she had a cute chubby face, purplish black hair and deep purple eyes that seemed to glow and shift to bright pink from time to time. 'Cool'

The little girl didn't reply and just shyly looked down and pointed at my face.

"What? My face?" I asked the girl.

She shook her head not expecting me to be dumb as hell and whispered while pouting a bit. "Your eyes..."

"Oh... Well, I guess I'm kinda related to you then? But, no, I am not your brother. Plus, I'm an orphan, I don't have any family, except for Graue there, he's kind of my self proclaimed brother." I said while Graue who heard his name jolted up from his scratching session and was looking at me eagerly with purple eyes like the girl which I now just noticed.

"Oh... Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii- Kid, do you have a family?" I asked the little girl out of curiosity.

'I guess us having the same eyes means we really are related, if so woo hoo I'm not gonna be the orphan kid with a pet at school. Now that I noticed it, the dog has the same eyes as us as well. Wait, don't tell me, our ancestors did a Zeus.' I thought as I shuddered in a bit of disgust thinking about the possibility.

"No... I just woke up, uhhh, there." She weakly said while pondering and pointing at the dense forest behind her.

"Oh, just like me..." I whispered as I realized we were kind of in a similar situation as I too woke up in the middle of the woods, though it was due to a ROB. "So, would you like to come with us then? I mean, we are in the same situation after all and plus, we look like real siblings." I said while smiling a bit with a hint of pity in my voice.

"Yes... Please take care of me. I'm sorry for startling you earlier and I never really introduced my self to you, my name is Phuchsia Nebula. All I know from when I wake up is that I can summon creatures, and that I can do stuff that are better seen than said for explanation." She said from whispering shyly to almost yelling, her voice filled with enthusiasm like as if we'd known each other for a long time while, floating?

"Wait wait slow down, what happened to you being shy earlier?" I asked in confusion, "And why and how are you floating?"

"Well, you said that I could come with you if I wanted and that whole shy thing is just a facade I use to make sure the person I'm talking to isn't trying to trick me, and I'm floating because fuck you that's how. I don't know most of the words I just said but it just sounded right so that's what I said." she said while posing, menacingly with huge grin akin to that of a certain crimson fucker.

"Ohhkay? Anyways, I haven't really introduced myself as well. My name is, what was my name again? Oh right, new life new name, I guess" I thought for what felt like a hours for me and then finally decided what my new name was going to be.

'I... honestly never thought about what my name was going to be. I just died, and woke up as a kid on the same day. The world of Remnant primarily uses colors for their names and sometimes even plants, hmmm. What name, what name- Oh that's right! My grandma used to have a garden and had purple Heliotropes which she liked a lot. Maybe I can use that, but 'Heliotrope' doesn't really sound badass, perhaps 'Helios'? Yeah, 'Helios', not only reminds me of my grandma but is also the name of a god in Greek legends.'

I smile at her and then said "It's Helios, Helios Nebula. I never really had a last name or first name since I honestly forgot it so, I just made one up and took your last name, I hope you don't mind. And this little guy here is Graue Hoffnung." While I said that, Graue who was being carried by me, was happily wagging his tail while letting his tongue out.

"No, I don't mind. That actually helps make it more believable to people that we are related. I also wanna ask... Can I pet the doggy?" Phuchsia eagerly asked.

"*Chuckles*, maybe later, oh wait, you can float and all so maybe you can carry him. I bet he'd also like it. Come one, we've spent a good few of our time talking here and we need to get some supplies in the village ahead." I told her who'm just noddedand floated next to me while I passed Graue to her who immediately started licking her all over. I picked up my backpack on the ground next to the rock Phuchsia sat on earlier and then I signaled for her to follow me on the village up ahead.

As we left the area, we never really knew that at that time, that was the start of the infection of a really horrible and fast spreading biome.

MC POV

'Dang, who knew dog food and girls clothes were so expensive. Out of the 300 Lien I brought, I'm now only left with 30 Lien, food and utensils were also bought but damn were those two things a lot more expensive in a wide range, hell, men's clothes were cheaper by 60%. We live in society.' I thought to myself while continuing to grumble about budget and some things about price inflations. 'How the fuck are bullets much cheaper than a fucking can of meat loaf.'

"*Sigh* Come on Fou, let's go home already, I still need to clean up the second floor of the house." I tiredly said as Phuchsia pouted a bit while staring at some more clothes that she found interesting while we were about to leave the small store in the village.

"Stop calling me that, and also I'm still trying to decide whether which one is better suited for my style so that the next time we come here I'll know which one to buy and so that we can hastily leave this place next time." Phuchsia said while putting back a dress she was holding back onto where it belonged.

"Look, it's almost dusk and the Grimm may find us off-guard while walking towards home especially me with all these things I'm carrying which is honestly a bit too heavy for my body." I complained to Phuchsia while pretending to struggle.

"Fine, let's go already. Graue must be lonely outside, Tch, I'm still salty about those store owners not allowing Graue inside." She said while scowling a bit.

"That's because the owner's wife, who is the clerk, is a cat faunus and is extremely afraid of dogs. Plus, the owner himself is also diagnosed with being allergic to dogs. At the very least they provide a small space where puppies can play with each other" I reminded her.

Phuchsia shrugged while heading towards door not before letting a "Hmph" escape her mouth.

As we exited the store we head towards the back where multiple people who we assumed were fellow pet owners who put their pups at the space while their partners were inside buying stuff. Though something was wrong about the owners, their faces looked like they were told fish could fly, though some technically can but any who, I found the source of it as I too was a bit surprised.

There, in the space where pups should be playing around, were all bowing towards Graue whom had a huge ass grin while his eyes glowed the purple for a split second. So yeah, naturally Phuchsia went towards him, picked him up like a baby, and we left as if nothing ever happened.

A few weeks after this incident, we were invited by the village head to take care and train the villager's pets since Graue seemed to be some kind of Alpha and made any non-Grimm animal he met to be under his command. Though most of the vilagers were kind of perplexed about making two 5 year olds have such burdens on them, they were calmed down when the village head made a large building where we could train the pets and also said that supplies would be free of charge, plus, we were also getting paid.

Right then and there, there was only one thing I realized, "I FUCKING WASTED MY MONEY ON DOG FOOD EVEN THOUGH WE COULD'VE GOTTEN IT FOR FREE!"
