40. The Confused Boss Rabbit. *squeak?*
Shadow appeared in the open space abruptly as Yu'er, Qin Ming, and Miyuki were collecting drops while everyone else was resting.
"There are six more groups of rabbits on the way to the boss room. Next group has 9 rabbits. Then 11, 13 and so on…"
She sent a message in the party chat. Everyone frowned slightly after reading the increase in the number of rabbits in each group.
After thinking for some moments, Sword sent a message, "9 and 11 can be managed. It will be difficult to deal with 13 or more at once, but Shadow will try to find their weakness while fighting the next two groups.
"We will think about the 4th group after clearing the 3rd one. We will set off after 15 minutes of rest."
The party cleared the 2nd and 3rd groups with some difficulty. Everything proceeded the same except that this time the rogues didn't help Agil, Airi, and Sana. They instead kept 3 and 5 rabbits busy by kitting them.
Qin Ming also helped by casting *Mana Shield* whenever necessary. And after Sword's rabbit was dealt with, the rogue brought the rabbits chasing after them close enough for Fire to execute her *Fire Bomb* skill.
Then, all melee class members helped Agil, while the 3 mages only used *Mana Shield* whenever necessary. After 90 seconds cooldown of *Fire Bomb* was over, the remaining rabbits were roasted too.
Although this decreased the party's DPS, overall this method benefited the group. Fire, Shadow, and Agil leveled up once in-between. If not for the restriction of Class Advancement on everyone else, they would have leveled up as well.
After clearing the 3rd wave, Shadow informed them that there was no apparent weakness in the rabbits. Sword's brow was locked in a tight frown trying to think of a suitable way to deal with the increasing number in successive groups of rabbits.
At this moment Sunny sent a message, "I will help from now on. The rogues will kite around 5 rabbits while Qin Ming will focus on solely helping them. While Sword and long-range dealers will deal with 2 rabbits instead of one.
"Agil can pull the aggro of all the remaining rabbits. I will make sure he is alive by the time you guys deal with the 7 rabbits."
Sword nodded her head as she had almost forgotten Sunny was here.
And with Sunny's help, they were able to clear the 4th to 7th wave with almost the same difficulty as the 3rd one. Sunny used his left hand to cast *Mana Chain* for lighting and the wand in his right hand to help Agil with *Mana Shield* to defend and *Mana Chain* to tie down several rabbits for a few moments.
This wasn't feasible before he got the SS-grade bracelet because of the low amount of Mana.
The party cleared the 7 groups of rabbits in about 5 hours after they entered the dungeon.
They rested for 30 minutes in the open space where the 7th group of rabbits was resting before proceeding further.
"The next turn probably leads to the boss room. I didn't check it out as I sensed danger the moment I neared the turning."
Everyone read Shadow's message and raised their guards. This time Agil took the lead as he had the highest chance to be alive if something unexpected happened.
The party stopped for a moment before the turn. Everyone took steady and slow breaths before Sword gave the signal to proceed.
Agil nodded and walked with his shield raised at eye level. The party came into a wide underground space after crossing the turn.
7 rabbits bigger than the previous ones were staring at them with manically red eyes. The purple sparks discharging from their bodies were in much higher quantity.
A rabbit bigger than the 7 rabbits was present deeper in the open space. It only glanced at the party and closed its eyes in disinterest. It didn't seem to have any intention to stand up and attack them.

Everyone understood the mechanism of the boss. Before any of the 7 rabbits are killed, the boss won't take action.
The 7 rabbits instantly started sprinting towards Agil one after another in a 2-2-3 formation. Witnessing the rabbits coming in such a formation instead of randomly coming, the party members felt hopeless.
The slight happiness that the party members felt after knowing that they will not fight the boss from the start vanished into thin air.
Sword was just about to order to retreat at full speed when Sunny suddenly went past everyone with an astonishing speed. A moment ago he was at the back of the party and now he was standing in front of Agis.
He raised his wand and aimed at the incoming rabbits. When all the rabbits were within 10 meters range from him, he softly chanted *Small Inferno Wave*.
*whoosh~*
A geyser of blue flames shot out from the tip of his wand and completely engulfed the sprinting rabbits. When the flames cleared 15 seconds later, only some drops were left on the shiny scorched ground.
All the 14 party members were stunned and stared at the drops in a daze.
The [Thunder Rabbit] stood up abruptly and looked at the location where its 7 mates were present a moment ago.
*squeak?* It made a cute sound in confusion at the sudden disappearance of its mates. A moment later it squeaked loudly in anger and confusion.
*SQUUUUEEEEEEAAAAAAAAKKKKKKKKKKKK!*
And charged a dense amount of purple sparks from its body on its horn and fired at Sunny, the closest intruder. The sparks took the form of a dark purple arrow.
*Thunder Arrow* Sunny thought while casting a *Mana Shield* in front of him knowing fully that it can't affect the dark purple arrow in frontal confrontation.
But, the angry squeak of the boss already broke the party members out of their daze and four members immediately took action by the time the rabbit charged its horn.
Fire shot a *Fire Bomb* in front of Sunny's *Mana Shield*. Sword and Shadow both threw their weapons to intercept the dark purple arrow.
Agil appeared in between Sunny and his *Mana Shield* with his own skill *Buff Up* already activated.
